DAMIEN'S POV

Leaving Freda with the wolf was not something I wanted to do, but I had to hastily give out the information concerning the coronation ceremony - the things I do  and will do for her, she has no idea.

As soon as I got out of the dungeon, I regretted it, I didn't want to be far from her at all, and it put my mood in a downstate.

"Your Highness, Verestina is in the castle and will not leave until she speaks to you. We have tried to get her to move but that has proven rather futile," The guard who rushed to my side said and I frowned. This was not the time for conversations about Verestina so I ignored him and kept walking towards the throne room where the official news guard kept watch.

"My Lord, what do we do? She will soon storm the castle if you don't give me orders to use whatever means necessary to put her out".

He paused mid-sentence and our heads moved in the same direction as we both saw Verestina matching angrily towards us. The guard immediately drew his sword and took a step towards her but I stopped him before he angrily gave her injuries. As much as I wanted him to do away with her head I did not think she deserved it.

"King Draken would never try to keep me out of the castle, let alone have his filthy guards lay a finger on me".

"Leave us," I said to the guard; I could see the hesitation in his eyes, but he nodded and left us.

" I sent him out so he wouldn't hear me embarrass you further. Your little play time around the castle is over and you should learn to stay only in places you're welcome," I said and she seemed to think I was joking as she moved closer to me and tried to place her hand on my chest but I caught it before it could touch me.

"I will not repeat myself Verestina, I am not Damien to you anymore, I am your King, you should know what they do to people who disrespect the crown. Just because we have been intimate doesn't mean you get the chance to be pardoned, this is the only pardon I am giving you, don't try this again. Now leave" I said, letting go of her hand and walking away from her. I didn't look back to see if she had gone but I knew she wouldn't dare to defile me.

As I made my way to the throne room, I came across my uncle, and I gritted my teeth. He was another person I wasn't in the mood to see today.

"Your Highness," he greeted, and I nodded briefly and continued making my way to the throne room; he followed me.

"Get the quill; I have some information I need you to take to the Lord's," I said, settling myself on a chair in the corner of the room while the guard rushed to get a quill and paper; when he arrived, I began to tell him what to write.

"Let them know it shall hold as usual, but the date has only been pushed back for some specific reasons that I do not see how it is any of their business lest any man should ask," I said, and my Uncle moved closer towards us with a frown on his face.

"Why is the date moved back? I thought you were desperate to take up the crown. Why push it?" He asked and I clenched my jaw. He was never going to understand so I left him unanswered.

"That is all, let them know a meeting is to be held at an announced date soon concerning the preparations of the ceremony," I said and waved the guard off.

"What is this about Damien? " Uncle Keiran asked again and I frowned.

"It is Your Highness to you," I said and he frowned.

"If you don't take the crown soon it's to remain as Damien! I'm still your Uncle, not your right-hand man at least not yet" he said and I sighed. He was right, but I seriously was not in the mood so I stood up from where I sat and walked out of the room and towards the dungeon when I saw Freda coming outside on her own.

"What happened to coming down to find me if I stayed there for long," she said smiling sweetly at me and all my sour mood turned sweet. I smiled back and walked towards her.

"I was attending to the coronation issue," I said, unable to help myself as I grazed her cheeks with the back of my palm, her face grew red and I grew hard instantly, luckily the dress pants I wore were big enough to hide my raging erection. 

The need to pin her to the wall was troubling, I have never wanted a woman like I wanted her and if she knew just how much I wanted to devour her she was sure to flee from me and I didn't want that.

"What did you discuss with your father?" I asked and she sighed, her smoke didn't leave her face still.

"We talked about this and that, but mostly about my time at home, he sought forgiveness, and I-"

"Did you forgive him?" I asked. I knew her love for her father ran deeper than the hate. I saw her fumbling with her expression and I knew she was getting there, if I were the one in her shoes, there was nothing to forgive, but she was soft and that was the difference between us, at least her father loved her and that was good enough for me.

" I guess I did, I don't know, i-i think I did long ago," she said and I smiled, this time I boldly cupped her cheeks with my palm enjoying the smoothness of her skin, my thumb moved on its close to her ears and I stare at her face.

"It's alright Freda, I promise you won't ever feel alone here," I said and I meant it. She smiled at me and nodded.

"Go rest, I'll have your maid fetch you something to eat," I said and she nodded again before turning around to walk away from me I did nothing but stare at her behind. The little sway in her hips, when she walked, was dangerous. I sighed out loud trying to keep myself in check as I sighted my uncle talking to a maid.

I walked towards him but paused when I heard him ask the maid about Freda. I had forgotten he followed me out of the throne room and must have seen my interaction with her, well I guess it was time to tell him.
