MATED TO THE VAMPIRE KING SON Chapter 56

FREDA'S POV

"I have to excuse myself for a moment so I can tell the Lords about my change of plan concerning the coronation," Damien said and I stared at him with wide eyes. I couldn't believe it worked.

I couldn't believe it didn't require much effort to change his mind, just a sad face and a few utterances of nonsense and I got him to move an official date forward! 

Here I was already thinking about other alternatives if he didn't agree to my pleas, something moved inside of me and I recognized what it was.

I needed time to find my way around if I still intended to leave this place. Every time I found even a flicker of happiness with Damien I made sure to destroy it. I didn't want him getting into my head.

I already made up my mind that I was going to run. I just needed time to figure out how, and now he has given me one. I just have to make the best use of the little time I have.

"May I speak with my father some more before leaving, your Highness,"A quick bow before I continued " I would like to talk to make him see reasons as to why this ceremony was paramount and was going to happen sooner than later"

"Freda you don't mean that. How dare you settle for this blood-sucking pest! What did you do to my daughter!" My father screamed at the top of his voice and Damien frowned.

I had to say something before it got out of hand. My father needed to know that I had something planned and was never actually going to get through with the so-called coronation.

"Don't pay heed to him, go do the needful concerning the coronation and I will see what I can do about changing his mind" I said trying to sound convincing enough for him to trust me. 

It just dawned on me, more like I just realized how much power I held over Damien all in the name of us being mates and if I wasn't planning on running away I would have used that to my advantage.

"Sure, don't stay too long here or I will come find you," He said before glancing at my father one more time then out he went with the guard following him.

"Don't tell me you agreed to his silly request? How can you tell you are his mate? You don't even know what it feels like to have a bond, it is not just something you can make up, what If you are under a spell and y-"

"I plan to run away," I said when it seemed like his words were never going to stop. He had his eyebrows raised so high one would think they could leave his face, his mouth hung open and I smiled.

"Yes, you heard me right Father, I would not allow myself to be subjected to a life I don't want, you already did that and I don't want to live like that ever again so I have decided to find a way out of here even if it means away from you as well" 

Sighing, I moved closer to the cage. My father was tied to the wall with a chain holding down both hands and his legs as well, he looked like a dog. I searched his body and thankfully found no scars whatsoever.

"That is risky but I am ready to take that risk with you, as long as you are far away from here maybe I could atone for making you live miserably but I promise you it wasn't my fault. I did all of it to protect you" he paused, struggling with the chain before he continued.

" and right now the only place where you would be safer is with your mom and I can tell you all you need to find her if that is okay with you," he said and I couldn't stop my heart from beating fast. He could hear it too and the thought made my ears turn red. He knew how excited I got at the mention of my mother and now that I was going to be getting actual information about her made me even more excited that I could barely hide it.

"First you need to know the plan I have. There is a maid that attends to me personally, and I like her a lot but I am going to use that to get the information on the structure of the castle, try to find out secret passageways and secret doors. Once that is established, I use the ceremony as a day to run out. He would be so busy and he would never see it coming, no one would," I said feeling proud of myself for being able to come up with something this fast. I looked at my father and saw he had a deep frown on his face and I wondered why it was there.

"What is it, father? Do you not see my plan for the execution?" I asked and he shook his head slightly and sighed loudly.

"There is nothing wrong with your plan, I just can't stop thinking of how much of a terrible father and king I am. I couldn't even protect you from a vampire how can I protect my kingdom? My little girl now is forced to do something risky just because I failed as a father and a king. As soon as I get out of here I promise to be up to par with the plan any chance we get to meet, I cannot let you deal with this all alone," he said and I smiled sweetly. I still hated him for all the things he had done to me but I knew my hatred wasn't going to hold out for long.

"Back to the information on my mother before the guards come back," I said and he nodded.
