While others seek survival, I engage in flirtation Chapter 11: Taking a Bath
On our way here, we stumbled upon signs of other survivors, along with a bunch of canned food and plastic bottles they left behind. I grabbed a few of the bigger cans and some sturdy plastic bottles.
Then, Ivy and I made our way to the stream.
We passed through a forest, catching glimpses of hares and squirrels darting around. The thought of roasted hares and squirrels made my mouth water, but catching them would need some tools.
We headed to the stream we spotted from the mountain. The water here was way better than the pond. It was clear, and you could see small fish swimming around.
These fish weren't big, but they'd do the job to curb our hunger. They were pretty fast though, making it a bit of a challenge to catch them.
"Want a drink?" Ivy called out, cupping her hands to scoop up some stream water. The water trickled through her fingers, looking super refreshing.
With our freshwater problem solved, we could get a lot more done.
We drank our fill at the stream, filled up our bottles, and packed them into leather bags. I splashed some water on my face, the coldness waking me up.
"Carl, go get the others," Ivy said, eyeing the stream. "Staying clean helps us stay healthy."
Before she even finished talking, Ivy had already ditched her leaf clothes and jumped into the stream.
Ivy was now completely naked, washing herself in the water, not bothered by me being there. I stood there, a bit stunned, and she just reminded me to call the others to bathe.
It took me a few seconds to snap out of it, and I quickly called Margaret and Aimee over.
Margaret had trouble walking, so I had to carry her from the cave to the stream.
"I think you just wanted an excuse to carry a pretty girl!" Aimee teased, convinced I was a perv. No matter what I said, she wouldn't believe otherwise.
"Think what you want," I shrugged, carrying Margaret to the stream.
Aimee, despite her claims, followed closely, not wanting to be left behind. When we got to the water, her expression softened, and she eagerly scooped up some clear stream water to drink.
"Stay away! Do you have to watch us bathe?" Aimee had half her body in the stream when she remembered I was still there.
"I'm here to protect you!" I ignored her and sat by the stream. The other two girls didn't seem to mind my presence at all.
"I don't mind... If it weren't for Carl, I might be dead by now," Margaret said, splashing water on herself. She couldn't soak in the water because of her injured foot. She laughed and splashed some water at me.
Ivy also didn't seem to care. She soaked half her body in the water, her long hair flowing, with the ends just touching the water's surface.
This was the first time I had seen a girl completely naked, and there were three of them. It was a sight I never thought I'd see!
Aimee, despite her words, gradually accepted my presence. Her face was always flushed, and her eyes darted around, avoiding my gaze.
Watching the three girls splash around in the water really lifted my spirits. Since we landed on this deserted island, we hadn't had a moment to chill. Finally, we could relax a bit.
We now had a freshwater source and found plenty of edible mushrooms and fruits on the island. At least we didn't have to worry about food anymore.
We had taken a lot of detours looking for water. This stream wasn't far from the camp, and getting water didn't even mean going through the forest.
The girls quickly cleaned up and sat on the pebble-covered shore. Freshly bathed, they were still naked, with a few drops of water glistening on their skin. Their wet hair draped over their shoulders. Ivy, with her long hair blocking her view, used a branch to tie it up.
"By the way, there are fish in this stream!" Margaret suddenly remembered, pointing at the fish in the water.
"These fish look edible... I've seen them in restaurants," Ivy said after watching the fish for a while.
"Let's have fish for lunch today," I suggested, eyeing the small fish swimming in the stream. Each one was about as thick as two fingers, and they would probably taste great roasted.
But catching fish with my bare hands was a no-go. The water here was pretty calm, but the fish were super fast. We'd need some tools to catch them.
But where could I find a fishing net out here?
I searched myself thoroughly but couldn't find anything that could work as a fishing net. Reluctantly, I turned my gaze towards the girls' clothes.
I then realized that Ivy had very few clothes left. After days of wear and tear, she only had a pair of underwear and a short top that didn't cover her stomach. Aimee was even worse off, wearing clothes made of leaves and vines.
Margaret's outfit was relatively normal, but her chest was exposed, her high breasts pushing up her clothes, revealing two faint protrusions.
"Do you still have any bread? Breadcrumbs will do," Ivy suddenly called out to me, her face lighting up with a rare smile, just as I was feeling troubled.
Following her gaze, I saw a group of finger-thick fish in the water, wriggling in the crevices of the rocks, fighting over an unknown seed.
"Sprinkle some bait on the cloth, then lift it up when the fish gather," Ivy said, examining my hand. "With your strength and speed, you should be able to do it."
Ivy, being an actress, was indeed knowledgeable. She had acted in similar movies, and now, a scene from a movie was playing out in real life.
"Aimee, come help!" Among the three girls, Aimee was the fittest, with better stamina and endurance than the others.
"Why is it always me!" Aimee complained but came over to help immediately.
Aimee and I placed the cloth in the water. Once the water was calm, Ivy sprinkled bread crumbs on it, and the small fish quickly gathered.
"3...2...1!" I looked at Aimee, and we slowly lifted the cloth together, then quickly flung it towards the shore, sending a large pile of fish onto the land.
This was the first time I had eaten fish freshly caught from the water. The fish were tender and fresh, and even just grilling them over the fire released a delicious aroma.
I took out the last bit of salt from my bag and sprinkled it on the grilled fish, making them ready to eat.
