While others seek survival, I engage in flirtation Chapter 63: Alone Time with Lilian
That noise wasn't from the ground shaking; it was definitely coming from outside the house.
I shot up from the ground, scanning the room for the direction the sound was coming from. Those guys were already at the door, and from the noise, it seemed like they could bust in any second.
How the hell did they get here so fast? They shouldn't be moving this quickly!
"I'll check outside! You get up here, quick!" Dennis shouted, heading for the door with a stick in his hand. He glanced back at me before stepping out.
Lilian looked worried too, but she still reached out her hand to help me.
I tried to jump up, but I was just a bit short. Lilian's hand was just what I needed to make it. If nothing went wrong, I could easily grab her hand and pull myself up.
But, of course, something did go wrong. When I grabbed Lilian's hand, I realized I was way stronger than her. The force yanked her down into the basement with me. She didn't have time to react and fell right on top of me.
Lilian must've used all her strength and wasn't ready for the fall. She ended up straddling me, her chest pressed against mine.
I opened my mouth to say something but couldn't find the words. I just stared at her, trying to keep my cool.
Even in this situation, being this close to such a beautiful woman was stirring up some feelings.
We locked eyes for a few seconds before her face turned bright red. She quickly jumped off me, realizing the awkward position we were in.
"How do we get out?" Lilian asked, her face still flushed, her eyes avoiding mine and focusing on the blood-stained hay beside me. "This basement is almost pitch dark."
I moved my limbs, which had been pinned down, and pushed myself up.
"Let's find something to use as a torch." My eyes were adjusting to the darkness, and I could just make out the shapes of things around us.
I searched and found a broken mop, covered in dust, with only a few cloth strips left on it.
It wasn't ideal, but it was better than burning our clothes.
I tore the cloth strips from the mop, broke the handle in half, and wrapped the strips around the broken end.
Luckily, I always carried a fire-starting device with me. Without it, we'd be in real trouble.
"Don't worry, we'll find a way out soon," I said, holding the fire-starting device. I stuffed some hay into the groove and pulled the bow-shaped part.
With a snap, the strap broke, and the branch it was attached to snapped too.
I stared at the broken fire-starting device in my hand, and both Lilian and I were stunned.
Had I used it too much? The strap actually broke!
Now we were without a fire-starting device unless we could find another strap to fix it.
I glanced around and finally focused on Lilian beside me.
Since we got to the camp, Lilian had always been dressed neatly, and she should still be wearing underwear. If she was willing to lend me her bra...
"Can you..." I started to ask, but Lilian was already taking off her clothes.
"The other girls at the camp told me about what happened when you were stranded on the island," she said, unhooking her bra without hesitation, her chest exposed in front of me.
"You probably need this now." She handed me her warm bra.
Lilian was more open than I had imagined. Even though I was staring at her breasts, she didn't seem to mind.
"Stop staring and focus on getting us out of here," she snapped, turning around.
In the faint light, I noticed a blush on Lilian's cheeks. So, she was a bit shy after all!
Honestly, if there was a better way, I wouldn't want to use her bra to make a fire-starting device. I also didn't want anyone to see the girls barely clothed, with their breasts almost exposed.
But we had no other choice. I took the gray bra from her hand.
The fabric of the sports bra was stretchy, so the strap was tough to remove. It took me a while to get the buckle off.
Then, I found a few thin sticks nearby, tied them together, and made an upgraded version of the fire-starting device.
Lilian put her outer clothes back on, and I lit the torch.
"Carl! Throw the knife up here." It was Moon's voice.
She was the first to run out earlier, and now she was back. Did something happen?
I was about to ask when those piercing screams came from outside again. Something was definitely going on out there.
"Moon! Are they still alive?" Knowing Moon's skills, I didn't hesitate to throw the weapon up.
She bent slightly and caught the short knife with ease, even lifting her skirt a little.
"They should still be alive." She tilted her head, glanced at the door, and smiled at me.
Moon's calm smile made me feel a bit dazed. She never seemed afraid, always handling everything with ease.
After she left, it was just Lilian and me in the building. In the quiet, I could even faintly hear Lilian's heartbeat.
We searched the basement. It was just an ordinary storage room, and most of the stuff was no longer usable.
But I wasn't too worried about our safety. This basement was large, and with so many big boxes, there had to be another way in or out.
No one would be dumb enough to seal supplies in an inaccessible basement!
But we hadn't found another way out yet. Honestly, I was more worried about the others outside than our situation.
Suddenly, the sound of wooden boards scattering came from the other side of the basement.
"There's a door here!" Lilian shouted.
I immediately looked in the direction of the sound and saw a faint light that didn't belong to this basement coming from the wall not far away. We beheld a full moon, which bathed the surroundings in a soft glow.
