While others seek survival, I engage in flirtation Chapter 6: Saved Her Again

Aimee's clothes were already in tatters, and now they were practically shredded. She was pinned under Matt while the others just stood there watching. She cried out, trying to push Matt away, but it was useless.

I was hiding behind a tree, watching as Matt, driven by some twisted urge, ripped off Aimee's clothes and groped her. Her frantic struggles didn't do much against him, leaving her no choice but to scream.

But Aimee was tougher than I thought. She didn't give in easily. Her struggles actually kept Matt from going any further.

"Let go of me!" Aimee shouted, but Matt just got more excited.

"We're on a deserted island. Even if I kill you, who cares? No one's gonna know!" Matt's words were disgusting, but he wasn't wrong.

"Besides, who knows how many guys you've been with? For all I know, you could've slept with half the town!" Matt kept talking while his hands roamed over Aimee's body.

"Get off me! Stop talking crap! I should've left with Carl! Even if I slept with him, I'd never agree to you!" Aimee screamed, biting Matt's arm, which earned her a hard slap.

I didn't want to get involved at first, but seeing Matt's sick behavior, I couldn't just stand by. Plus, her words stirred something in me.

I rushed out, grabbed Matt by the collar, and yanked him off Aimee.

"Why is it always you!" Matt's face twisted with rage when he saw me. "What are you doing here?"

He was the one who humiliated me and tried to steal my stuff, yet he acted like he hated me!

"Get behind me!" I pulled Aimee up and stood in front of her. "Why can't I be here? If I wasn't, I wouldn't have known you were such a creep!"

Aimee stood beside me, furious and covering her chest, muttering curses. Any girl would be pissed after going through that.

Matt and his goons, armed with wooden sticks, charged at me. I blocked one stick but got hit in the back and went down.

Even though I was stronger now, I couldn't handle this. During the day, I managed to keep the supplies from them by catching them off guard. But now they were ready, and even with my increased strength, it was tough to take on these guys.

They kept punching and kicking me, not letting up. I felt the pain all over, forcing me to protect my vital parts to avoid serious injury.

This couldn't go on, so I took a chance. When one of them came at me again, I grabbed his arm and threw him to the ground.

That move stunned the others. They looked at each other, hesitant to come at me again. They were probably scared and didn't want to provoke me further.

Seeing their reaction, I guessed they weren't sure of my strength but were definitely wary. It wasn't easy for me to fight them, but they were also hesitant to make a move.

"Alright, I know I'm not a match for you, but let's be smart about this. I'm not gonna let you have your way." I quickly came up with a plan and motioned for Aimee to run while I slowly backed away. "How about we call it even? Let us go, and we'll forget this ever happened!"

I figured Matt wouldn't have a reason to refuse. He knew that if we fought to the death out here, neither of us might make it back alive.

We stood there in a standoff for a few seconds. Aimee took a few steps back, and seeing Matt still hesitating, I suddenly retreated a few steps, grabbed Aimee, and bolted towards our camp.

I ran as fast as I could, trying to get Aimee out of Matt's sight. She was soon out of breath, so I had to carry her.

I only slowed down when I couldn't hear Matt's voice anymore. We ran a long way before stopping, but we didn't go straight back to the camp. With Aimee, I wasn't sure if we could shake off Matt, but luckily, he didn't follow us.

"Wait here. I need to go back." I looked at the panting Aimee and told her to stay put.

"Where are you going? Are you leaving me here?" Aimee clung to my leg, clearly afraid I'd abandon her. I explained that I heard someone else crying for help in the woods and needed to check it out.

"You can't leave me alone here!" Aimee looked furious, tightening her grip on my leg. Her exposed chest pressed against me. "Why didn't you tell me Matt was such a creep?"

"I told you, I'm going to help someone. I'm not leaving you here alone." I pushed her hand away and got up to leave, but she still wouldn't let go, scared of being left behind.

I had to threaten her, "If you don't let me go, I'll tie you back to that tree!"

Hearing that, Aimee finally let go, dusted herself off, and stood up.

"I'll go with you." She still looked scared of being left behind, but my threat seemed to have worked.

She wasn't too fragile and didn't have any obvious injuries, so she could still move around. Plus, having a helper was better than being alone in the forest.

"Fine, but don't slow me down." I didn't refuse her help and handed her the wooden stick I was holding. I found another stick nearby for myself.

We ventured into the forest.

The trees here were tall, unlike the smaller ones in the shrubbery.

Because of the environment, the resources here were more abundant.

Not long after entering the forest, I found what I was looking for—sage. This herb had great anti-inflammatory properties, and without any medicine, it was the best I could use to help Margaret.

I picked a few sage plants and put them in my bag. We continued exploring for about ten more minutes until we heard the howls of wild animals.

Aimee was startled, but I quickly covered her mouth to stop her from screaming.

I pulled her behind a tree to observe. Not far ahead, in a relatively open area, I saw a few jungle wolves howling around a tree, and a very beautiful girl was clinging to it.

I looked closely at the girl—wasn't that Ivy?
