Healing His Broken Luna.... Chapter 119
Chapter 32 - Breathless
It's been over a week and Alpha Dimitri has trained with me every day. Today we're working on lightning bolts caused by electrostatic when I shift hot and cold air in the atmosphere. Alpha Dimitri set up points for me to target.
Luna Raven had asked Alpha Trevor for complete privacy during my training and told him I was having a difficult time focusing with anyone observing. To ensure no one was watching us, Angelo and Camille took Arlo and Cami out to run the perimeter of the training area. Angelo's wolf, Arlo, is large and chocolate brown like his eyes. Camille's wolf, Cami, is brown with white paws and a white bib.
I'd be lying if I said Storm wasn't jealous. She wanted nothing more than to run with her Alpha mate and mark him. Angelo and Camille marked each other earlier this week. While everyone was happy for them, I could feel Storm's despair.
The sky was gray with heavy clouds, Alpha Dimitri believed I could impact the air temperatures enough to impact rain or snow fall. I closed my eyes again and envisioned the warm air and cold air quickly rising and falling. I moved my arms up and down willing the wind to do the same. I focused on the wind and its energy. The trees started blowing and bending around wildly. Alpha Dimitri, Luna Raven and Lukas stood behind me watching as the wind whistled.
A bolt of lightning stuck the tree I was aiming for and a roll of thunder rumbled in the clouds. The precipitation came down hard and fast. It was half snow, half rain and then turned into heavy hail. I willed the winds to continue moving up and down and create more charge in the air. Another bolt struck the dead tree I was focusing on and fire erupted. Lukas quickly used his element to snuff the fire out with snow.
Alpha Dimitri opened up a big hole in the ground, hid the tree in the hole and replaced the dirt. Lukas buried the site under snow and there was no sign of lightning striking. Even though Alpha Trevor is a third cousin to Luna Raven, we don't know if someone from his pack was involved with the curse.
"Angelo just linked me, Alpha Trevor is on his way." Lucas said.
I released the wind and the air temperatures returned to normal, the heavy snow turned into a mild flurry. I continued with basic exercises, spinning wind and sharp gusts as we waited for him to arrive. A black truck arrived, and Alpha Trevor stepped out and greeted us.
"I hope the training is going well." He said.
"Thank you, it's coming along." I said.
"Syble, Portia has just returned, and I thought you'd like to see her. Maybe she could help trigger some more memories? What do you think?" He asked me.
"Wonderful. Is she at the pack house?" I asked eagerly.
"Great, she's at the Gamma house with her parents. I'll bring her to the cottage in an hour."
Angelo and Camille ran in wolf form back to the pack house while we traveled back to the lakeside cottage. I had spent the last week going through my grandmother's belongings and found very little. There was no trace of her life before my mother was born. Nothing. No photographs besides the one tucked in her journal that Alpha Trevor gave me. Her journal which also didn't reveal much more than we already knew.
I couldn't help but wonder if my grandmother knew about the curse. Or if she was hiding something. "Syble my love, you are very special and destined for something great," my grandmothers voice echoed in my head. I could hear it as if she was standing right next to me. I remember her telling me this every time she kissed me goodnight.
We stepped inside the cottage and Lukas lit a crackling fire in the fireplace. He used his element to bring it to full blaze in a matter of seconds. Luna Raven stepped in the kitchen to make tea while we waited for Alpha Trevor and Portia to arrive. I've been having patchy memories come back, but deep down inside I know seeing Portia is the key.
We sat quietly sipping our tea when a knock was heard. Lukas opened the door and greeted the alpha. A young woman with shoulder length brown curly hair and big brown eyes entered the cottage with Alpha Trevor.
"Portia, this is Alpha Dimitri Theodorus, Luna Raven, Alpha Lukas and Luna Syble."
"How wonderful to see you again. You look just like your mother." Portia greeted me.
"Thank you for coming. It's so good to see you again too." I said as memories suddenly flooded me of her spending the night up in the loft with me when I was visiting. "You used to come over for sleepovers in the loft."
"Yes! We used to build forts up there and play pirate ship. I always looked forward to your visits every spring and summer." She smiled. "I had heard that your family was killed in a rogue attack, I'm so glad you're okay."
"I don't remember much prior to my parent's death but things are slowly coming back to me. I remember you though, swimming in the lake, eating ice cream and playing hide and seek in the woods."
"We weren't allowed to play in the woods after you fell and broke your leg." She said.
"I broke my leg?" I asked.
"Yes, it was the last year you visited. You would have been ten years old." Alpha Trevor said. "You don't remember that?"
"I, I didn't. But, I do now." I said as I thought back to the day.
"That was one heck of a way to end the summer." Portia added.
"Was that your older brother who carried me back?" I asked.
"I-I don't have an older brother, both of my brothers are younger."
"But, someone carried me back and helped me."
"I was hiding, and it was your turn to seek, so I didn't get to see him. I remember you told your grandmother that an emerald eyed vampire saved you. No one knows how you managed to walk from the woods back to the cottage."
"Vampire's don't have green eyes. Did I tell you anything else?"
"No, they put your leg in a cast and you couldn't climb up into the loft anymore to play. Three days later, you left and that was the last time I saw you. I wrote you letters, but I never heard back." She told us.
"Two months after, we were notified of a rogue attack that killed Luna Tara and your parents. They had a private funeral for the Luna, so we weren't allowed to attend. Alpha James obviously kept you hidden well for a lifetime of punishment."
"I wasn't exactly hidden. I lived in the barn." I said.
Luna Raven let out a low growl and I could feel the tension in the room.
"Alpha Trevor, before we leave it is our intention to bring an end to those who have harmed my mate at Sapphire Moon. I'm not interested in taking that pack, nor do I want to add to the rogue population. I intend to return to Greece with my mate and consider a few packs we've had on our radar."
"We will be happy to take what is left of Sapphire Moon, or at least those who will pledge loyalty to Blue Mountain." Alpha Trevor said.
"Then it is understood where we stand on this." Lukas said.
"Yes, and I will pledge the warriors of Blue Mountain to assist you."
"I want Domino." I managed to say.
"Domino?" Alpha Dimitri asked.
"Domino is the black horse in the barn. He was my stall mate and only friend. I may have not said a word for eight years, but Domino always understood me. I don't want to leave him behind." I said.
"Then we will be sure to fetch your horse for you. We have beautiful stables in Greece he will enjoy." Alpha Dimitri said. Just then, a loud howl rang out followed by several other howling wolves.
"We've got company." Alpha Trevor said and reached for the door.
"What's wrong?" Alpha Dimitri asked.
"Alpha James is here!"
Lukas growled and his beautiful blue eyes darkened as Luke came to the surface wanting to be let out. I felt Storm raging inside wanting to fry him with a special bolt of her own. All those years of punishments and abuse, he was not going to leave here alive.
Alpha Dimitri shifted almost as soon as he got out the door. Luna Raven followed as well, they didn't bother taking their clothes off and shreds of fabric covered the cottage yard. Portia shifted and met her Gamma family in the yard. Lukas also shifted and I climbed up on Luke's back.
It was mid-afternoon and we ran towards the pack house. Alpha Trevor, Alpha Dimitri, Luna Raven, and Lukas were all black Alpha wolves and an impressive sight to see. Alpha Dimitri's wolf, Dom, was just as large as Luke. They're huge compared to other wolves.
"Like father, like son." Storm said, proud of her mate's lineage.
We arrived at the pack house and found nearly four dozen wolves standing at the tree line with Alpha James who was wearing shorts. Did they run all the way over here? That would have been an exhausting four or five hours run. Where was Alpha Jaxon?
Alpha James lost the look of confidence on his face when he set eyes on Alpha Dimitri as he shifted back to human form. Angelo and Camille ran out of the pack house and flanked Alpha Dimitri's sides.
"I come with a warning." Alpha James started but Luke let out an angry growl and Luna Raven was snarling, ready to set him on fire.
"You came with nearly five dozen wolves JAMES. If they so much as think about pouncing, we will set fire to each and every one of them." Dimitri promised.
"We don't want trouble, we only want our Omega back." He said.
"You dare set foot in the territory of my mate's cousin, and make demands of us? It certainly looks like you are asking for trouble"
"She is still part of Sapphire Moon-"
"As what? Your slave? Tell me ALPHA, do you enjoy sadistically torturing an innocent pup for the loss of your mate?"
"How dare you speak of my mate." He growled. "THAT FILTHY LITTLE HUMAN-"
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING A FILTHY HUMAN, YOU MUTT?" I yelled.
Alpha James' eyes flashed black as his wolf laid eyes on me. They were wild and crazy. He hasn't heard a word from me in eight years and this must have shocked him.
"Surprise, surprise." He licked his lips and his angry face contorted. "Little red riding hood has herself a big bad wolf."
"If I were you, I'd be careful before she huffs, and puffs, and blows your whole fucking house down!" Angelo said.
"I've seen this face before James." I said feeling rage storming inside of me as I stepped closer and closer to him. "That same look when you beat a pup into oblivion to help your sorry ass feel better. Tell me, did it help? Did it take your pain away?
I stood six feet away from him and he gave me a sick smile. "It actually did." He said.
I willed the wind to start circling around us, so that no one could reach us. I heard Lukas call my name through the mind link, he wasn't comfortable with me being so close to Alpha James.
"How about I take something else away from you?" I said.
"Take what? I'll kill you before you have the chance." He spit.
It was my turn to smile now, "your breath." I said as I sucked in air and imagined his lungs emptying. He hunched over unable to breath and with each attempt he made to draw air in, I pulled it right back up. He looked around for help but realized he was trapped inside a wind vortex with me.
He tried to lung at me, but I instinctively kicked him between the legs, and he fell over clutching his dick. His face turned red and his eyes started bulging. I was ready to make him suffer a little before he left this world.
I let him have a few breaths of air and then sucked the air back out. I didn't want him to die so quickly. When he started thrashing around on the ground, I kicked him again, let him have more air, then sucked it out again. This went on for a few more minutes, kicking him, letting him breath, then suffocating him again.
When I finally stopped, the wind stood perfectly still, and no one spoke. James was dead and it felt good. Lukas grabbed my hand and pulled me into his arms. He had shifted back and was as naked as Alpha Dimitri.
"Like father, like son." Storm yipped at me.
A moment later, Lukas' Alpha voice boomed out across the land.
"LISTEN ALL AND LISTEN WELL. YOU ARE TO RETURN TO SAPPHIRE MOON AND LET ALPHA JAXON KNOW THAT WE ACCEPT HIS CHALLENGE. WE WILL NOT HARM ANYONE WHO DOES NOT WISH TO FIGHT. WE WILL ARRIVE AT SUNRISE."
