Chapter 36 - Claiming

Dimitri's POV

"He's going to be okay, won't he Dr. Vovos?" Niko asked.

"I've known Kosta since he was a pup, your Uncle is one of the strongest wolves I've ever met." Dr. Vovos assured us.

The pack clinic was a mile down the road from the pack house. It was morning, we had to wait until Dr. Vovos had stabilized Kosta before we could see him. He was connected to machines and tubes, he looked pretty bad.

"How long until he wakes up?" I asked, I really needed to talk to him. Find out who did this. He was badly beaten and shot with a silver bullet. The silver should have killed him, it's a miracle that he even survived.

"He's stable for now, but he's not out of the woods yet. It could be a few days or a few weeks. We don't even know the status of his wolf yet." She said.

Shit! We don't have that kind of time to sit around and wait. I needed to get going, Georgios' pack was five hours northeast of here. I mind linked Alec and Spiro to meet me in my office in twenty minutes and bring Knox and Rocky with them.

"Dr. Vovos, my mate has some business to attend at another pack, is he okay to leave?" Raven asked.

"Awe how sweet is that? Luna is worried about the big bad Alpha." Niko mind linked me with a goofy smile on his face.

"All the stitches have fallen off already." I lifted up my shirt to show Dr. Vovos.

"And how's the hearing?" She asked.

"Barely a low ringing in the left ear, but I can hear out of both now."

"That should correct itself once you've shifted, but I don't want you to shift today to make sure your internal wound is completely healed first Alpha."

"Thank you Dr. Vovos. I'm going to be away for a day or two, please keep Niko fully updated on Kosta's progress."

We entered the pack house and made our way to my office. Alec, Spiro, Knox and Rocky were already there waiting for us. Niko and Clair followed us back. I didn't exactly have a plan, so I was just going to wing it. I couldn't sit and wait any longer.

"I need to get to Georgios' pack, my sister has turned up missing. There's a good chance that she may have rejected Georgios and ran away. If she turns up here, let me know immediately."

"What if Hades has her to lure you in?" Rocky asked.

"I'm going to kill Hades as soon as Georgios is taken care of." I said.

"Who are we bringing with us?" Niko asked.

"We're not bringing anyone Niko. You're the Beta and should remain here, incase Hades tries to attack the pack before I've returned."

"Then the Alpha should be here to prepare for an attack, I can go look for Odessa." Niko said.

"An Alpha will be here. Knox is taking over the largest pack in the world in a few months, he can help prepare and secure Olympus Blood Moon for an attack. His aura is just as strong as mine, those who have never seen me before won't know the difference."

"I'm happy to fill in." Knox said.

"Alec, send some scouts out to Moon Warriors pack, I want to know what Hades is up to. Make sure they mask their scents. Kosta was going to send a few men out to survey things and report back but obviously we won't know anything until Kosta is awake." I said.

"Alpha, my father is still Georgios' Beta, he's a good person." Rocky said obviously feeling nervous.

"I know Rocky, we won't let anything happen to him." I told her.

"When are we leaving?" Raven asked.

"Now."

Raven and I sat in the black Jeep just outside the territory boundary for Zeus's Howlers, waiting for their warrior to clear us to enter. He looked stunned when he heard my name. This was an unexpected visit and perhaps he didn't expect me to honor the formalities and request permission to enter. His eyes had glazed over as he received a mind link from Georgios. "You may enter, follow the road to the pack house, Alpha will meet you there."

I nodded my head and put the Jeep in gear. The Macedonia side in eastern Greece is beautiful, the vegetation here was fuller with more varieties of tall trees. This also attracted lots of wildlife for hunting. My sister could easily hide and thrive in these dense forest lands, I thought to myself.

"She'll be fine." Raven said and squeezed my leg.

We pulled up in front of the pack house and Alpha Georgios was standing there with his Beta and some warriors ready for us. Raven's parents were also standing behind him. "Remember, your parents hate me." I linked Raven before we stepped out.

"Mom? Dad? What are you doing here?" Raven faked shock.

"Council business." Diesel replied coldly.

"Where's my sister Georgios?" I growled.

"My mate was taken last night while on a run." Georgios said.

"Are you sure she didn't run away from you?" I replied.

"I'm her mate." Georgios growled.

"I don't see her mark on you." I replied.

"Have you come here to challenge me?" Georgios roared back, his eyes dark and his wolf on the surface.

"Is that what you think? Guess that would explain the warriors you have surrounding us!"

"Alpha Georgios we just need to see Odessa for a few moments, it's important." Raven said.

"As you can see, Luna, she's not here!" Georgios growled at my mate and I growled back.

"Stay out of this Raven!" Lucy barked. "Alpha Georgios, please call the rest of your pack and warriors to witness the DOWNFALL OF THE BEAST OF GREECE!" She snarled at us.

"What's she going to do?" I linked Raven.

"Oh you'll see." Raven giggled back through the mind link.

"We should take this to the training grounds." Georgios said looking a little too excited for what might happen next. Perhaps he believed I was about to be taken down by my mates father.

It almost felt like a preplanned ambush. I was certain Odessa was probably being held in a cell as bait to lure me here. The sooner Georgios was dead, the sooner I could look for my sister. I was sure I could kill Georgios with my bare hands while in human form, but I wasn't sure I could take on all of his warriors without shifting if they charged at me.

"No shifting." Raven reminded me.

"Fuck, I should have brought warriors with us." I told her as we walked towards their training field.

"That would have put our pack at risk having our best fighters come with us." She reminded me.

She was right. Leaving with half my warriors would have left the pack weaker if Hades and my father decided to attack. Hell, they were all most likely working together on this. We stopped at the field and was surrounded with warriors, pack members and pups. Georgios stood close to Raven's parents believing they were his allies.

"We are Zeus's Howlers and we stand together. Today our pack is being threatened by my mates brother. He has come to challenge me. As many of you have heard, Alpha Dimitri Theodorus, is not a natural werewolf like us. He possesses unnatural gifts from the devil and intends to use those to conquer our pack as well as the other packs across Greece." Georgios announced and the crowd growled back.

"Excuse me, Alpha Georgios, did I just hear you refer to the gifts of the Moon Goddess as gifts from the devil?" Lucy asked and the crowd went completely silent. I could see her eyes come to life and feel her aura all the way from where I was standing.

"The beast is evil after all." Georgios managed to utter.

"Tell me Georgios, do you believe everyone who possesses a gift from the Gods is evil?" She asked. "Do you know what I think is evil? I think slavery and sex trafficking is evil. You do have slaves here, don't you Georgios?" Her voice sounded lethal.

"Alpha LaRue, please control your mate. We are here to deal with the bastard who stole your daughter and wants to take our Luna away." Georgios snapped.

"I'm sorry Georgios, my mate can't be controlled, she is a descendant of not one, but two Gods. You know how temperamental Gods could be." Diesel smiled proudly and gasps could be heard around the field.

"Alpha Georgios, you have neglected this pack and your duties to it. You have been consumed by greed and power, putting this pack in financial peril. You have also failed to provide an heir and have managed to lose your mate, the Luna of this pack." She said. With every word she spoke she walked around the center of the field so that everyone could feel her power.

"I didn't lose my mate." He growled.

I was ready to leap at him and rip his fucking throat out when Raven grabbed my arm. "Wait, he won't be able to lie to her, Lia is on the surface and she can compel the truth from him with her aura."

"Where is Odessa?" She demanded and stared him down from the middle of the field.

"W-with her father." He managed to utter and looked confused by his sudden truthfulness.

A growl ripped from me and Dom was at the surface. Lucy held her hand up at me for a moment telling me to stand down. I wanted this fucker dead. Raven pressed herself to my chest in a hug, not because she was crying, but because she wanted to calm both Dom and I.

"Wait please. She's almost there." Raven whispered to me.

"You gave your mate away to a known murdering mafia boss! Why?" She asked.

"He would have taken the pack if I didn't. You don't know what Stefanos is capable of." Georgios said.

"Alpha Georgios of pack Zeus's Howlers, I, Lucy Michaels LaRue, challenge you for this pack to the death."

"You? You're not even an Alpha!" He growled.

"Then it shouldn't be a problem for you."

"You have to be an Alpha to lead a pack!" He growled and shifted into his wolf.

"You hardly qualify as an Alpha Georgios, besides I'M BETTER THAN AN ALPHA!" Lucy burst out of her clothes and shifted into her beautiful golden wolf. Her roar shook the ground and her amber eyes burned with fire. She truly was a sight to behold. Shocked gasps and screams rang out. Some were pointing and others dropped to their knees when they recognized what Lucy was.

Three foolish warriors tried to charge forward at Lucy to attack her. She turned her head and fire came shooting out of her eyes at them. Screams erupted as they fell to the ground in flames. I was stunned, Lucy could do more than manipulate fire, she could create her own.

Lucy stomped her front paw and growled at Georgios. He stood frozen with fear for a moment and bared his teeth at her, taking a few steps back. He was no dummy, he was not about to charge at a golden wolf.

She walked across the field towards Georgios, never breaking eye contact with him. No one moved. There was an eerie stillness in the air. His eyes shifted to his dead warriors and he knew he was no match for her. He turned to run, and Lucy lunged at him in one swift movement and ripped out his throat. Georgios' lifeless body laid at her feet and she howled out.

Those in wolf form howled back and the others still standing knelt before her. Lucy had just claimed Zeus's Howlers as her own.
