Kaelen’s attempts to have the High Alpha open the ritual ground's barrier were futile. He could only wait on Blackrock Summit every day, hoping for Aurora to emerge.

He had considered forcing his way in.

But the ritual ground was an ancient battlefield, filled with countless skeletons and spirits, as well as the lingering auras and final powers of fallen mighty beings.

If he forcibly broke it open, the resulting breach would release the turbulent forces within, potentially destabilizing the entire world.

Kaelen suppressed his irrational thoughts and waited day after day on the summit.

On this day, when the battlefield erupted in chaos, Kaelen was about to go when he saw a figure emerge from Godfall Chasm, across from Blackrock Summit.

Godfall Chasm was a place even he wouldn't enter lightly. It was a true cemetery of the powerful, full of hidden mysteries, where danger and opportunity coexisted.

Even those most desperate for power would think twice before venturing there.

At such a critical time in the war, for someone to emerge from Godfall Chasm, Kaelen instinctively followed the faint aura the person left behind.

It was a dark aura!

Why would someone from the Shadowfang pack be in Council territory? Had a ward been weakened somewhere?

Kaelen followed the aura into a valley. It was a paradise of blooming flowers and green grass.

But wasn't this Godfall Chasm? How could such a valley exist here?

In stark contrast to the beautiful scenery, Kaelen felt his power gradually disappearing. He instinctively tried to leave this strange place.

Just as he turned, the last remnant of his power sensed Aurora’s aura. The next second, as his power vanished, the sensation was cut off.

He called her name a few times and cautiously explored the valley, but found no one.

Kaelen remembered the battlefield and rushed over.

That was the place Aurora was willing to die for. Now that she wasn't there, he would guard it in her stead.

He also held onto a sliver of hope. Today's commotion was so great that he had felt it on Blackrock Summit. Surely Aurora would know too. Would she go there?

A wave of anticipation washed over Kaelen, and he hurried to the battlefield, only to be told that Aurora had already left.

He was filled with regret. He should have gone to see her first. It was a rare chance.

"Alpha Kaelen, the Enforcer fought the King and seems to be injured."

Hearing this, all other thoughts vanished from Kaelen's mind. All he could think was that Aurora was hurt again.

Ever since she had joined the war, she had never been without injury.

Before their rift, he could heal her himself. Afterward, to avoid suspicion, he never healed her again.

Before every battle, he would pray she wouldn't get hurt, but she was so reckless with her own body, always returning covered in wounds.

Kaelen had never been disgusted by the smell of blood on her; he was heartbroken. But he didn't want her to misunderstand and develop false hope, so he had to remind her again and again with hurtful words to be more careful.

Kaelen thought of the entrance he had just found. A flash of insight struck him.

Could that be another entrance to the ritual ground?

The ritual ground was an ancient battlefield. It made sense that it could be connected to the place where gods had fallen.

But over the years, everyone had been so wary of Godfall Chasm, and fewer and fewer people undertook the ritual, that no one had ever made the connection.

Kaelen turned and went back to the entrance, following the same path as before.

Unlike last time, this time he could clearly hear voices. A familiar voice made his heart tremble.

Navigating through the winding paths, Kaelen finally reached the source of the sound. The scene before him made his anger boil.
