The Choice Chapter 16
I felt completely exposed. I couldn't stay here.
This secret absolutely couldn't get out, or I'd face endless trouble.
Looking at Tyler on the ground, I had an idea.
He'd figured out I could predict the future, but he didn't know I could put myself in the loop—I could just start over.
But him? He wouldn't get a second chance.
Thinking of this, I immediately forced out a smile.
If he had no bad intentions, naturally I wouldn't touch him.
But if he tried anything, he'd face an unprecedented nightmare.
Tyler and I walked and stopped along the way. Using my predictive ability, we were getting close to the hospital.
"Help... help... me!"
Just as I passed an apartment complex, I suddenly heard a weak cry for help.
It was a child.
I had to save her—she was the only living person I'd seen besides Tyler.
For public and private reasons, I didn't want to abandon her.
"Don't be scared, sweetie. I'm coming to save you!"
I tiptoed over to the little girl. Her leg was trapped under a severely deformed washing machine.
Her entire right leg had turned dark purple. The excruciating pain made sweat pour from her forehead.
What a will to survive, for her to have held on until now.
"RAWR! RAWR!"
While I checked the girl's condition, nearby zombies started gathering.
They'd discovered me. I had residual disinfectant on me so I wasn't too worried, but once these zombies found this little girl, she was dead for sure.
So I called Tyler out of hiding to help move the badly deformed washing machine.
