The Choice Chapter 20
The punk also got the disinfectant as expected, then was immediately attacked by a zombie.
"You! You!"
I saw Tyler staring at me—such eyes. Regret, maybe?
I ignored him, taking the disinfectant right in front of him and spraying it all over myself again.
"AAAH!"
Tyler's eyes looked like they wanted to devour me, but that knife had hit his artery.
His hand kept reaching toward me in a grasping motion. Did he die with regrets?
As someone "lucky" enough to die from a knife wound in the apocalypse rather than zombie bites, wasn't that actually fortunate?
"Big sister, don't leave—"
The little girl's eyes filled with pleading, tears already streaming.
Too bad the scene froze there.
Because we'd moved the washing machine earlier, the crevice was no longer stable. She was buried alive under the rubble.
I felt no pity for the girl's fate.
If not for saving her, I wouldn't have been in danger.
"Anyone there? Anyone there!"
After everything settled, I finally heard the rescue team.
An armed helicopter approached from the distance, its massive noise attracting hordes of zombies.
I waved my arms frantically. I was about to be saved—I didn't want anything going wrong now.
"Stay there! Don't move!"
As the helicopter hovered, a dozen soldiers in camo with military crossbows parachuted around me.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"
Every arrow fired killed a zombie instantly.
Soon they'd cleared a space around us.
