The Choice Chapter 8

At that moment, everything around me froze again.

Two more options appeared:

A. Left Corridor

B. Right Corridor

I closed my eyes and followed my instinct, checking option B first. Holy crap—my eye started twitching.

Taking the right corridor, a cold draft swept through as soon as I entered.

The green emergency lights on both walls flickered on and off. Imagining zombies that could appear at any moment—

A chill ran from the soles of my feet straight up my spine to the crown of my head.

Seriously, why had I never noticed how creepy this corridor was before?

Psychological effect. Had to be psychological.

I gathered my courage and kept walking. The narrow corridor filled with nothing but my breathing and the crisp sound of my footsteps.

Thankfully, everything remained peaceful. But just as I was about to exit the corridor, a zombie suddenly dropped from above.

Then more and more zombies started dropping from the ceiling in an endless stream.

With such a dense concentration of zombies, two bottles of disinfectant couldn't possibly hold them off.

Though I couldn't feel pain, being surrounded and eaten by these zombies was not a pleasant experience.

Since B didn't work, I could only choose A.

Taking the left corridor, sure enough—no zombies. I only saw a few scattered ones near the exit.

But because of my disinfectant smell, they acted like they couldn't see me at all.

Turned out zombies were similar to the undead in movies—they relied on their sense of smell.

Thanks to the disinfectant, I made it smoothly to the school's main gate.

"She's over there! Everyone, let's go!"

Just as I finished reviewing both options, those bastards' voices came from behind me.

"Lily Bennett, thank you for your contribution to everyone! Let's all applaud!"

Emily started her hypocritical routine again, running over and pulling me into a hug, heaping praise on me.
