The Choice Chapter 23

This dozen or so soldiers had no reinforcements, relying solely on terrain to hold off zombies.

Now arrows were running low.

Two options appeared before me again:

A. Sky

B. Ground

I checked Sky first—after all, I'd be boarding soon.

In the vision, I'd just boarded when we encountered a sandstorm.

Dust filled the sky, completely engulfing the helicopter. Crack, crack, crack.

Rubble from ground ruins got swept up and flew skyward.

This sandstorm's coverage was unprecedented—the helicopter couldn't possibly escape.

Most infuriating was that we could have avoided it if not for that woman's tantrum.

Watching the woman in the vision acting hysterical, I really wanted to slap her.

Since sky didn't work, I could only go underground.

Through the vision, I saw a hidden underground passage beneath the ruins. Through this passage, we could leave this place completely.

The passage wasn't without threats—plenty of zombies inside.

But because the passage was narrow, these zombies were like fish on a cutting board—they couldn't dodge.

Just throw a few dozen disinfectant Molotov cocktails and everything would be solved.

Perfect.

Seeing this, I didn't hesitate. I quickly walked toward the officer.

I told him a sandstorm was coming soon—best not to use the helicopter. Plus there were still many people left.

Those zombies were multiplying too. I knew an underground passage. First, we could avoid the sandstorm. Second, we could dodge the dense zombie horde.

I finished in one breath. Before the officer could respond, that shrew wasn't having it. Hands on hips, she started her output.
