The Choice Chapter 6

Watching these people act all righteous and indignant, my lips twitched involuntarily.

I nearly burst out laughing.

How could such shameless people exist in this world? Was this what they called model students these days?

If I remembered correctly, the guy yelling loudest had personally kicked a short male student out the window to secure his own spot.

Yet there he stood on the corridor roof, safe and sound. How could someone be so brazenly hypocritical?

Meanwhile, the commotion on the corridor finally attracted those zombies' attention.

If not for the twisted oak's broken branches blocking them, they would've climbed up already.

But the zombies in the building were multiplying. At this rate, the corridor would fall eventually.

"Lily, there's an opportunity to prove your innocence!"

I saw Emily Garcia, the class secretary, crouch beside me with a gentle expression—beside Amanda.

Had Emily had a change of heart? Didn't she usually look down on me the most?

Why did she seem concerned about me now?

My nose tingled. True colors really showed in hard times.

No matter what happened normally, just based on her standing up for me now, I'd get her out of this school no matter what.

But her next sentence yanked me back to reality.

"We don't know the situation in the Science Building ahead. If you're innocent, you won't refuse to scout it out for your classmates, right?"

Emily was truly vicious—she wanted me to risk my life.

Seeing I wouldn't agree, she immediately put on a pitiful expression.

"I've studied so much I barely exercise—I definitely can't run as fast as you!"

"We're all classmates. You can't just watch everyone become zombie food, can you?"

"I'm begging you for everyone—please go check!"
