The Choice Chapter 3

My back was soaked with cold sweat.

Looking at option B made my eye twitch uncontrollably.

What the hell? The door was even worse. The classroom next door had already fallen.

If I went out there, I'd be torn apart by a horde of zombies in under a minute.

Damned if I do, damned if I don't.

Wait—there was only one zombie on the corridor roof. I could totally catch it off guard and kick it off.

Plus, glancing at Jessica who'd just pushed me, I had an idea forming.

So I decisively selected A. Right then, everything flashed before my eyes.

I was back at the moment just before being pushed.

"Lily, sorry, but for my safety, you're going to have to scout ahead."

Same words, same expression.

But this time, there was no panic in my eyes.

I looked at Jessica with pity, then before her hand could touch me, I actively jumped toward the twisted oak tree.

Sure enough, everything proceeded exactly as I'd seen in the vision.

The massive impact sent searing pain through my back.

I gritted my teeth hard. Though my face flushed red, I didn't make a sound.

One wrong step here and I was dead.

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"

The sparrows in the tree, startled by the noise, flew out in a panic.

"Ugh!"

After being caught by the branch, I landed safely on the corridor roof.

Of course, such a commotion naturally woke the zombie lurking in the corner.

The countdown began.

I immediately started waving at the window, signaling that it was safe and they could jump down.
