The Choice Chapter 5
"AAAH!"
Jessica's desperate scream cut off abruptly. She was being torn apart by the dozen zombies below.
This scene made me retch uncontrollably.
Though I'd anticipated this outcome, watching those zombies rip and tear still made me unbearably nauseous.
The zombies below were completely focused on Jessica. I quickly dropped flat to avoid being spotted.
The crowd upstairs, seeing my reaction, didn't know what to do for a moment.
I wasn't worried they wouldn't jump—the zombies outside the door would burst in soon enough.
Then they'd have to jump whether they wanted to or not.
"BANG BANG BANG!"
Within ten minutes, the classroom windows shattered one by one.
"I'm going first! Everyone move!"
"Why you? I'm jumping first!"
"No, I am!"
Except for Amanda and a few students closest to the window, the remaining dozen started fighting each other.
Plus, that twisted oak tree couldn't handle successive impacts.
Now only about thirty people remained on the corridor roof.
Each face showed the relief of a narrow escape, everyone patting their chests.
The others weren't so lucky.
Either they didn't make it out of the classroom and were eaten by zombies.
Or they fell from the tree to the ground and were swarmed.
"Lily Bennett, Jessica died because of you, didn't she?"
Amanda, having somewhat recovered, pinned me down and started interrogating me.
"It's her! She definitely knew there was a zombie there! We're all classmates—why would you do this?"
Another self-righteous ass jumped out, screeching at the top of his lungs, occasionally spraying spittle.
