But my steps slowly edged toward the other side of the corridor.

Those bastards in class saw I was unharmed and all crowded at the window.

"Jessica, she's fine. I'll give you a chance—you go first."

Since the corridor roof wasn't far from the classroom, I heard class president Amanda Chen's performance crystal clear.

Under my expectant gaze, Jessica steeled herself and jumped down following my method.

She landed exactly where I had initially stood.

"It's safe! Really safe!"

As soon as she landed, Jessica started jumping up and down triumphantly, frantically waving her BTS-covered hoodie.

"Jessica, behind you! Behind you!"

Amanda's left hand pointed at Jessica's back. Her face looked terrible, like she'd seen something she didn't want to see.

The other students had the same horrified expressions.

Some of the more timid ones actually ran away from the window.

And I, at an angle only Jessica could see, smirked mockingly.

"Lily, what's that supposed to mean? Isn't it good that we're all okay?"

Jessica was still celebrating when her narrow eyes caught my expression in her peripheral vision.

She got pissed immediately. Just as she was about to rush over and hit me again—

The zombie from the corner finally attacked.

"RAAWWR!"

The zombie's gaping maw dripped with saliva, bloodshot eyes locked on the back of Jessica's head.

She'd just noticed everyone upstairs staring behind her.

She suddenly smelled something rank and rotten, but before her head could turn—

The zombie lunged, bit into her skull, and they both tumbled off the corridor roof.
