The Choice Chapter 9
Her eyes filled with what looked like approval and encouragement.
Emily truly lived up to her manipulative nature—fake to the core.
"Ugh, what's that smell on you? It's choking me!"
Amanda covered her nose with one hand, frowning deeply.
Only then did they notice the smell on me.
But compared to my odor, which corridor to take was their primary concern.
I pretended to look conflicted and indecisive.
"Hurry up, stop being so wishy-washy! Everyone's waiting!"
Amanda grew impatient again, squawking from behind.
I stopped pretending and walked directly into the left corridor.
Entering the corridor, sure enough, because of my smell, those few zombies completely ignored me.
But just to be safe, I still kept my distance from them.
A few minutes later, I stood smiling against a pillar facing the corridor, watching the first few people approach.
"Everyone come quick, it's clear here! I see Lily!"
Those few saw me and their initially cautious steps grew bolder and longer.
But just as they emerged from the corridor, those drowsy zombies suddenly woke up.
"RAWR! RAWR!"
"Run! AAAH!"
How could those few outrun zombies? In moments, they became zombie snacks.
But the zombies that entered the corridor moved noticeably slower because of the disinfectant smell I'd left behind.
After this incident, chaos erupted from the corridor.
I could only catch fragments.
Emily seemed to say something like "I knew... liar..."
Then nothing more.
