The Choice Chapter 2

It took all my courage to crack my eyes open slightly.

The moment I did, I discovered I was somehow suspended in midair.

Those bastards in my class still wore the same expressions as when they'd pushed me.

I called them that because I knew their fates wouldn't be any better than mine.

It was just a matter of time.

Looking down, even those zombies nearby had stopped their roaring.

The wind stopped, the water stilled—everything except me had frozen in place.

What was happening to me? My eyes filled with questions.

I tried twisting my body. It wouldn't move.

Then I tried moving my feet. No luck.

Was I already in another world?

Was I frozen like this because I died with unfinished business?

At this thought, my lips turned downward involuntarily.

Even in death, I was just a wandering ghost.

My hands clenched into fists without thinking. I refused to accept this.

Right then, I was shocked to discover that my hands actually could move.

As I waved them, two options appeared before my eyes:

A. Window Escape

B. Door Escape

I tapped option A first. A scene unfolded before me.

As I fell, I got snagged by the twisted oak tree outside the building. The impact cushioned, I dropped onto the roof of the connecting corridor between two buildings.

What a perfect escape route. But just as my anxiety started to ease—

Less than three minutes later.

From a dark corner of the corridor, a zombie suddenly jumped out, lying in wait.

Damn. If I went that way, I'd be zombie food for sure.
