(Lyra's POV)

Outside, the night was quiet and peaceful under my magical protection. For the first time in months, I felt truly safe. Kael was king. Our enemies were defeated or scattered. Our family was protected. It wasn't the life we'd planned, but it was ours. And that was enough.

I woke up feeling different. Not sick different. Powerful different.

The morning sun was streaming through our bedroom windows when I realized my hands were glowing faintly. Just a soft shimmer, like moonlight on water.

"Kael." I nudged him awake. "Look at my hands."

He sat up quickly, instantly alert. "Are you okay?"

"I think so." I held up my palms, watching the gentle light pulse in rhythm with my heartbeat. "It doesn't hurt. It feels warm."

"When did this start?"

"I just noticed it now." I flexed my fingers, fascinated by the way the light followed my movements. "Maybe it's been happening while I sleep."

Kael reached for his phone. "I'm calling Dr. Martinez."

"Wait." I caught his wrist. "Let me try something first."

I closed my eyes and reached out with my enhanced senses. The house felt different this morning. Not just safe, but blessed. Protected by something stronger than walls and locks.

"I can feel the baby," I whispered. "Not just movement. His energy. His power."

"His?"

I opened my eyes, smiling. "It's definitely a boy. And he's strong, Kael. Really strong."

The glow in my hands pulsed brighter for a moment, then faded back to the soft shimmer.

"Dr. Martinez mentioned power surges during pregnancy," I said. "I think this is what she meant."

"Are you sure you're okay? No pain, no strange sensations?"

"I feel incredible. Better than I have in months." I stretched, noticing that my usual morning stiffness was completely gone. "It's like the pregnancy is charging my batteries instead of draining them."

Kael looked worried. "That's not normal for regular pregnancies."

"Good thing this isn't a regular pregnancy."

I got out of bed and walked to the mirror. My reflection looked the same as always, except for my eyes. They seemed brighter. More focused.

"Aria," I called silently to my wolf. "What's happening to us?"

"We're becoming what we were meant to be," she responded immediately. "A celestial wolf carrying a lunar eclipse child."

"The baby is affecting our abilities?"

"Enhancing them. Preparing us for what's coming."

I felt a chill despite my enhanced energy. "What do you mean, what's coming?"

"Powerful children attract powerful enemies. Our body knows we need to be ready."

That made sense. My pregnancy wasn't just creating a child. It was preparing me to protect that child.

"Can you feel the lunar connection?" I asked Aria.

"Stronger than ever. The baby is acting like an amplifier for our celestial abilities."

I turned back to Kael, who was watching me with a mixture of wonder and concern.

"The baby is enhancing my connection to lunar energy," I explained. "My wolf says it's normal for celestial pregnancies."

"Define normal."

"Apparently celestial wolves get stronger during pregnancy instead of weaker. It's nature's way of making sure we can defend our children."

"From what?"

I thought about General Cassius, about the political threats we'd been dealing with, about the way powerful people saw supernatural children as weapons or threats.

"From everyone who's going to want to control him."

Kael was quiet for a long moment. "How strong are we talking?"

I held up my hands again, willing the glow to return. This time, the light was brighter, more focused. I could feel power flowing through my veins like liquid starlight.

"I'm not sure yet. But I can sense things I couldn't before." I looked around our bedroom, seeing subtle energy patterns I'd never noticed. "The wards on the house. They're not just magical barriers. They're living protections that respond to our emotional state."

"Living protections?"

"When we feel safe, they're calm. When we're threatened, they become aggressive." I smiled. "Last night when I felt truly peaceful for the first time in months? That's when they settled into their strongest configuration."

Kael stood up and moved to the window, looking out at the peaceful morning. "So our home is protected by how we feel about it?"

"By how I feel about it. The wards are connected to my celestial energy." I joined him at the window, placing my glowing hand against the glass. "And my celestial energy is getting stronger every day."

"Is that good or dangerous?"

"Both, probably."

We stood together watching Asher play in the backyard with Elena. Normal family life, protected by increasingly abnormal power.

"Dr. Martinez needs to know about this," Kael said finally.

"Agreed. But first I want to test something."

I walked to our bedroom door and placed my palm flat against the wood. Immediately, I could sense everyone in the house. Asher's bright, young energy. Elena's steady strength. Victor's slowly healing heart.

But more than that. I could sense their emotional states, their physical health, even their supernatural signatures.

"I can monitor the whole family from here," I said quietly. "Know instantly if anyone is in danger or distress."

"That's incredible."

"That's terrifying." I pulled my hand back from the door. "What if I accidentally invade someone's privacy? What if I can't control it?"

"Then we figure out how to manage it. Together."

I turned to look at my mate. He was accepting these changes so calmly, like supernatural pregnancy abilities were just another item on our daily to-do list.

"Aren't you worried about what I'm becoming?"

"I'm worried about what other people will think about what you're becoming." He touched my face gently. "But you're still you, Lyra. Still the woman who chose to protect everyone she loves instead of running away."

"Even if I become something more than human?"

"You were already more than human when I fell in love with you."

I leaned into his touch, feeling the glow in my skin respond to his closeness. "The baby likes you. I can feel his energy settling when you're near."

"Good. Because I plan to be near a lot over the next few months."

A soft knock interrupted us. "Mom? Are you okay? Your room feels different."

Asher. Of course he could sense the change in my energy.

"Come in, honey."

He opened the door and immediately stopped, staring at my faintly glowing hands. "Whoa. Are you sick?"

"Not sick. Pregnant with a very special baby."

"Special how?"

I knelt down to his level, holding out my glowing palms. "Touch my hands and tell me what you feel."

Asher placed his small hands over mine. His eyes widened immediately.

"He's talking to me," he whispered. "The baby. He says hi."

Tears filled my eyes. "What else does he say?"

"That he's excited to meet me. And that he's going to help protect our family."

I looked up at Kael, seeing the same amazement in his face that I felt.

Our unborn son was already communicating with his older brother. Already understanding his role as a protector.

This pregnancy was definitely not going to be normal.
