Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 122

**Ares and Eros's POV**

When watching Athena and Emma leave alongside Elise and Cara along with Iris and Addison do we decide to move back into the house, having wanted to see her off before moving to get ourselves ready for the day.

“Do you think she caught onto why Emily didn’t go with them?” asks Eros to his brother.

“Doubtful, but you know our mate. She’ll find a way” admits Ares to his brother, knowing Athena would try and weasel it out of Emma as those two were such close friends and Athena was their Luna.

Chuckling, Eros can only nod his head in agreement, Athena always the more observant one among their group even if she tried not to be.

“Come, we should shower. We have an important meeting this afternoon and we need to keep a clear head when going into it” remarks Ares, his eyes now on his brother who nods.

“Do we have too? I would rather spend this time with our children than talking with the stupid Council in regards to Lily and her open ended threats” groans Eros.

“Yes, we have too. Father would kill us if he found out about it. Besides father as well as Alex and Rick will both be present during this as well. The goal behind the meeting is to see if the Council will do anything or if our suspicions about them are true” remarks Ares, for in the beginning of everything, both Ares and Eros had been harboring extreme caution with the Council. For ever since they had come to witness the Alpha and Luna Ceremony they had all been off, as if planning their own shady schemes.

“I hate it when you're right though” grumbles Eros, just as both he and Ares make it upstairs and to their bedroom, the very same bedroom that Athena shared with them. For when an Alpha was called to duty then it was up to the Alpha to accept their role in protecting what belonged to them which in this case was their Luna and their children. Pack included.

“I hate when I’m right too, but sometimes it can’t be helped” remarks Ares, just as he moves over to their joint closet, moving to grab clothes for himself while Eros moves to shower first, the need to clear his head rising.

‘Do you really think that the Council is behind the whole Lily thing or do you think that they have their own motive?’ asks Zeus from deep within Ares’s mind.

‘I don’t know. But a part of me hopes they’re not. But that night during our Ceremony, I couldn’t help but watch as they silently accessed Athena from afar, almost as if they knew who she was before she could properly introduce herself,’ admits Ares to his wolf.

Feeling Zeus growl at the news, Ares knows that he managed to hit a sore spot with him but it was true. The Council had not once approached Athena in any way, shape or form and that did not sit well with him. Nor did it sit well with Eros and then when they had gotten married, the Council had yet to make themselves known to her.

Shaking his head, Ares opted for grabbing a deep navy blue shirt as well as a pair of dark wash jeans that hung nicely along his hips, hugging his legs nicely as he moved to exit the closest, heading for the dresser and to where his boxers lay within a drawer.

Hearing the door to the bathroom open does Ares moves to spot Eros as he slowly moves to exit the room, a towel hanging loosely around his waist as he did, his hair damp from being in the shower.

“Dude, seriously?” laughs Ares to his brother, for while they were twins and mates to the most beautiful woman, Ares himself always avoided seeing his brother naked unless they were having sex with Athena, in which he didn’t mind then for they were all naked.

“Yes dude, seriously” laughs Eros, shoving him playfully, for even though they shared one mate between the them both, neither of them found it to be a bother for them to be naked around the other. Though it didn’t exactly stop them from giving the other shit about it either for it was all done in good fun.

Laughing at his antics does Ares move to shower next, knowing that they had to be quick before their so called meeting with the Council, for today they would finally get the answers that they seeked while hopefully solving most of their other unanswered questions in the process, like about Athena’s past.

\-Alpha’s Office-

When entering their office, the twins can’t help but notice that their father along with Athena’s two uncles were also present, each of them nodding in greeting as Ares moves to sit at his desk, Eros moving to stand next to him as they patiently wait for the call, having had to make an appointment to speak with the Council as it had always been a curse.

Feeling impatient, Ares can’t help but feel Zeus move around deep within his mind, as if suddenly on edge and couldn’t pinpoint the object in question.

‘What’s wrong?’ asks Ares to his wolf.

‘Somethings bugging me and I can’t figure it out’ grumbles Zeus, wondering if it was because of the call with the Council or the fact that Athena wasn’t present within the pack, but either way, it made Ares curious to find out what it was except before he could ask further questions does the phone ring.

“Hello? Alpha Moonheart speaking” sounds Ares voice as he moves to put the phone on speaker so those within the room could hear as well.

“Ah… Good Morning Ares Moonheart, how are you this fine morning?” asks the voice of one of the Council members.

“Good Morning to you as well, Councilmen” replies Ares in respect.

“Please, call me Tobias, no need for such formalities” chuckles Tobias, his voice holding a hint of something which makes it hard for Ares and Eros to pinpoint.

“Okay… Tobias. We're honored that you were able to give our pack a call” replies Eros, earning him a chuckle as he did.

“Ah Eros, so glad you could join our phone call as well. Now then… What is it that we may do for you?” asks Tobias, his voice now holding an amused tone, as if taunting them.

“We’re calling you because we wanted to see if you or any of the Council members knew what was going on with Lily or maybe even that of the Rogue King?” answers Eros, his voice neutral as he spoke.

At the mention of Lily’s name and that of the Rogue King does Tobias move to become quiet. “Tobias?” calls Ares, his eyes now glancing to Eros and those within the room.

“Yes, sorry. I was thinking about something” admits Tobias.

“Thinking? Thinking about what?” asks Eros, hoping he would just spill the beans.

“Nothing. Nothing that concerns you. As for Lily, no we were not made aware of her. What is that child doing now that you would seek the help of the Council? For we have other important matters to attend to,” admits Tobias, his voice now sounding rushed as if he wanted to hurry and end the call.

“Child? That child as you call her has jumped off the deep end. She’s calling and harassing our wife. My wife. She’s threatening my family, my children and all you can say to us is that you have other important matters to attend to? Athena is important” growls Ares, not liking Tobias at all.

“Watch your tone pup. Athena may be your Luna, your Queen, but under no such circumstances will we bend to your command. Athena is just a runt. A lone wolf with no pack, no family and a curse. And if I were you, I’d recommend handing her over to the Council and take a chosen mate instead” snaps Tobias, no longer hiding his true intention.

“Did you just threaten our wife?” growls Eros, Deimos raging deep within him.

“And what if I did? You have no proof. And who would believe you? You're just an Alpha. Twin Alpha’s. Athena? She’s an Alpha and a Luna. A rare wolf who will always be hunted. A wolf who sparkles like moondust, fur white as snow. Eyes blue like an ocean while rimmed in silver. She I’m afraid will always become the hunted. So trust me when I tell you, give up your claim on her now, or else” orders Tobias, Zeus and Deimos now on full alert.

“NEVER!” growls Ares, moving to hang up the phone as he did.

Once off the phone does Ares move to look at Eros and then those within the room. “Well… that went well. Do you think they're behind the Rogue King and Lily now?” asks Eros to his brother. Rage still pulsing beneath his skin

“Without a doubt” growls Ares, again the need to keep his mate and family safe now rising, Alex, Rick and their father also trying to control their own rage too.

“I knew they were up to something, I just never knew until now” growls Alex, unable to process what he just heard with Tobias.

‘The Council has become enemy number one’ growls Zeus, the need to rip each of them to shreds now rising.

‘Agreed. They’ll pay for threatening our mate dearly that I promise’
