Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 142

**Athena's POV**

Where are they? wonders Athena again, her thoughts still scattered as she continues to play hostess while another part of her wanted to continue to freak out. A part of her now thinking the worst, as her mates had still yet to show up to the party.

'Artemis' calls Athena, her mind about ready to go looking for her mates once more. Another two hours passing yet again, and it was now almost 4 in the evening and no one seemed to be concerned that the Alpha twins had yet to show up along with the Beta, Gamma and Delta of the pack, almost as if they had mysteriously vanished into thin air.

'Yes Athena?' answers Artemis almost immediately.

'I'm beginning to worry again. It's not like Ares or Eros to just not show up without so much as saying a single word to anyone. It's almost like they vanished without a trace. Even my uncles eventually showed up at some point once they had a chance to help a couple of pack members before coming over to wish me a very happy birthday.'

'I know. I'm worried too. It's not like Zeus or Deimos to just not check in. Something is definitely fishy here, and we need to figure it out, and fast' replies Artemis, fully on board with whatever it was I planning to do, deciding on locating Kade and Rosalyn first.

Maybe, just maybe Kade and Rosalyn can help me. I thought to myself. Having decided to look for Kade first, as he was still technically a loner and didn't hang out with many people unless forced to. Never really trying to fit in or make friends. His only friend being Rosalyn and that was because he had been forced into being near her constantly. Otherwise, he probably wouldn't have tried to.

Starting with Kade, it doesn't take long to spot him, a wolf such as him, who stood at 6'5 and had broad shoulders, ripped muscles and black hair and deep blue eyes, Kade made his appearance known. Currently standing against the base of a tree, Kade seemed to be lost to his own thoughts as he simply just people watched from a distance.

Sighing, I moved to approach him slowly. His deep blue eyes slowly on me the closer I become to him and his personal space, his body tense as if he wasn't really expecting me to come see him of all people. A soft sigh rising as I moved to speak to him.

"Kade?" I called to him, my voice soft, hoping he wouldn't just brush me to the side.

"Luna" acknowledged Kade, even though his voice was tense. "What do I owe the pleasure of your arrival?"

"I need help" I admitted to him softly again.

"Help? Isn't that what mates are for?" asks Kade, his eyes now arched, unsure why I needed his help of all people.

"Yes, and normally if I knew where my mates currently were I would be asking them, except I don't" I say, his focus now fully on me as if waiting for me to continue with my response.

"It's been nearly four hours and I still can't seem to find them anywhere. It's like they magically disappeared into thin air or something, including Kai, Seth and Sam."

Listening to me as I vented, Kade tries to think of the reasoning behind their sudden disappearance. His mind attempting to think on a solution.

"And how does this retain to me? I'm not exactly friends with the twins if you ask me" replies Kade, his voice stating the obvious which causes me to frown.

"Because I thought you could be the one person in this whole entire pack who would be willing to help me without telling me to just calm down and relax. As it seems like everyone in this god-forsaken pack doesn't seem to actually care and if they do, they have a strange way of showing it. And because of that, I absolutely refuse to sit here and wait for them to appear. I need help, so I'm sorry if I might seem like I'm bothering you. I just thought that maybe we could be friends" I grumbled about to turn away, my mind thinking it was a lost cause with Kade when suddenly Kade's hand moves to stop me in my tracks.

"Wait" comes his voice. "I'll help you."

"Wait, you will?"

"Yes"

"Good. Because we also need Rosalyn too" I make sure to add, a smile on my face once Kade offers to help me.

"Rosalyn?" asks Kade, unsure behind the reasoning for needing her.

"Yes, because a part of me thinks that whatever it is that we're dealing with might be the reason that I can't interact with my mates and if that's the reason, it could be magic base. And if so, I need someone who knows a bit of magic as well."

"That's alot of what ifs. You do know that, right?" admits Kade, still hesitant on helping out.

"I know. Yet apart of me still can't explain why I feel like that. But I need to do something. I can't just keep sitting here and waiting for them" I finally say to him, my eyes still locked with his.

Sighing, Kade slowly but hesitantly moves to nod his head in agreement. "Fine. I'll come with you, but only so you don't end up dead or something. For you, maybe Luna, my Luna, but I don't wish to see death anymore if I can help it."

Blinking at his choice in words, I can only stare at him in shock until I slowly began to smile. "You really do care about others, don't you?"

Scoffing, Kade moves to grumble, "I only care about my mate. I don't care about what happens to other people."

Rolling my eyes, I instantly knew that Kade was only trying to be a hardass because he was hiding something, something that deeply affected him and deep down he truly did care. It was one of the many reasons he chose to save Rosalyn from dying that night. Because he cared.

"Keep telling yourself that. Come on, let's go find Rosalyn" I say, ignoring his slight huff as we moved to search for Rosalyn, only to spot her with Alex, my uncle.

Uncle Alex seemingly more relaxed now that he had managed to find his mate within Rosalyn, while Rosalyn, on the other hand, curled up against his side. Her eyes watching as everyone around them mingled and danced with themselves, unaware of my approach, until I finally cleared my throat to them, drawing their attention over to me as I smiled.

"Excuse me, Uncle Alex" I called to them softly, their attention still on me as I did.

"Yes, Princess, what's up?" asked Alex, both he and Rosalyn now focused on me and me only.

"Can I borrow Rosalyn? Just for a little bit?"

"Sure, but how come?" asks Alex, curious as to why I needed his mate of all people.

"I can't seem to find Eros and Ares anywhere. Neither of them are answering the mindlink and neither are Kai, Seth nor Sam. Plus, it's been nearly four hours, and I'm beginning to worry about them."

Frowning at my answer, Alex slowly moves to look at his mate.

"Are you up to helping my niece Rosa?" asks Alex, his eyes now on his mate. Her eyes on his before looking to see me and then Kade.

Nodding, she moves to reply back. "Yes, I'm okay to help her. After all, I owe it to them for allowing me to stay here and become a member of this pack."

"I don't need permission in claiming what's rightfully mine" growls Alex softly, his arms still holding onto Rosalyn, who only giggles at his words.

"I know you don't, you're the Lycan King after all. But still, it wouldn't feel right if I simply told Athena no. After all, they've been nothing but kind and considerate to me. Especially with Kade." replies Rosalyn, a smile still on her lips as she says that.

Sighing, Alex can only nod his head in agreement. "Okay, fine. But be careful. I don't need anything more happening to you. I almost lost you once, I won't lose you again" grumbles Alex, referring to when Lily openly attacked her without cause.

"And you won't, I promise" whispers Rosalyn, who then moves to kiss him gently before slowly moving to pull away, her eyes now on mine and Kades.

"Now then, let's go find us some missing men."

Resisting the urge to laugh, all I can do is simply nod my head before the three of us move to find my missing mates as well as our Beta, Gamma and Delta.
