Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 147
**Eros's POV**
Two days have passed since the incident with the Rogues. Two days since Ares and now Athena went missing from the pack and since then each day that’s passed by has felt like a complete and utter nightmare to me. The bond eerily silent.
‘We need to find them,’ whimpers Deimos, having been lonely and sad and unable to cope without their presence.
‘We will, I promise you,’ I say, hoping to cheer him up however I can.
For even though it’s only been two days, a lot has transpired during that time. Some leading us into dead ends while others led to helping out wherever they could. Clearly worried for their Alpha and Luna, including me.
Sighing, I move to lean against my chair in defeat. My eyes moving to scan over a giant map of our pack and those who surround ours. Tiny little X’s lining the map of the areas that were now considered dead ends.
Clenching my jaw, I refrain from lashing out. Now feeling useless at not being able to help locate my family, my brother and our wife. Thankfully though, even with everything going on around us within the pack, my parents have been gracious enough to watch the children so that I might be able to focus on finding Ares and Athena and bringing them home safely.
Focusing on the map before me, I completely miss it when Alex, Rick, Sera and Rosa come walking into the Office. Each of them concerned about Athena and Ares as well.
“Any luck on finding them?” asks Alex, worry obviously etched within his voice and face as he moves to look over at me. Rosalyn now next to him as Seraphine stands next to Rick.
A piece of jealousy rising at not having Athena or my brother here with me.
“No…” I grunt, wanting to avoid any and all conversation at the moment.
“Eros… I know it might look hopeless, but I promise you, we’ll find them. We’ll find Ares and Athena and bring them both home safely before you know it” replies Rick, having spotted the way I had displayed my expressions.
An expression that he and Alex knew all too well, as it was one that always led to jealousy. Because right now, until Athena and Ares were both found safe and sound, I would continue to feel incomplete on multiple levels and I would continue to feel the jealous side of me until such a thing occurred.
“And how exactly do you suppose we do that?” I snap, slamming my hands down upon the desk. Rage now rising at being told such a stupid thing.
“Careful how you speak pup” growls Alex, understanding shining within his eyes, for he too missed Athena as did Rick. “Don’t push it.”
“Push it? Who said anything about pushing it? I just want Athena and Ares found! Is that so hard to ask?” I say, anger and pain now radiating off me in waves.
Clenching his fists, Alex is about to reply back only to be stopped by Rosalyn as she moves to step in, tension that was once filling the space now easing to a halt.
“We could call Keira” answers Rosalyn, now catching those within the room’s attention.
“Keira? Who’s that?”
“She’s a friend of mine and also a Witch. She comes from the Moonlit Cloud Coven. She’s real nice and super good at what she does” explains Rosalyn as she moves to look at me and then back to Alex.
“And what’s that?” asks Seraphine, curious.
“Locators.”
“And where is she now?” I ask, suddenly curious as to where this so-called Witch was.
“Last time I checked, she was now mated to a Wolf from the Nightshade pack” admits Rosalyn, almost a bit hesitant on saying who the Wolf was.
“Which Wolf is that?” asks Alex, his eyes now on his mate.
“T-The Alpha… Cade Frost… It happened during his return home from what you all call the Annual Mating Ball. He apparently had not found his mate during that time and when he left to return home was when they suddenly crossed paths.”
Suddenly, as if the silence is too much for her to process, does she begin to shift nervously within her spot, Rosalyn unable to help but feel like all eyes are now on her and if not on Eros as they all try to process this new bit of information that was recently given to them. Rosalyn’s eyes now moving in a downcast way in hopes of avoiding their eyes. Silently wondering if she would be punished by not sharing this valuable information sooner because if it had been Lily, Lily would have punished her relentlessly for it, so why not a bunch of Alpha’s.
Lost to her thoughts, Rosalyn fails to notice as Alex moves to approach her, her body suddenly flinching all while unaware of her doing it as if already preparing itself for the punishment.
“Rosa?” Alex calls, having caught her flinch as he catches everyone’s attention within the room.
Still too lost to her own mind and thoughts, Rosalyn doesn’t seem to hear him until he moves to take her into his arms, drawing her focus back to him and those within the room.
“Rosalyn?”
Startled by her name being called, Rosalyn moves to focus her attention back on her mate and those all around her before speaking once more.
“Sorry… I-I got lost there for a second…”
“On what?”
“My-My thoughts”
“Hmmm….. Do you wish to share it?”
Sighing, Rosalyn hesitates once more before nodding her heading, answering his question as she leans into him slowly.
“I was wondering if you or your brother, Rick, would punish me for not speaking of Keira sooner. Or if Eros would punish me. Because let's face it, if it was Lily, she totally would have in an instant. Would have considered it as hiding valuable information from her.”
“What?” exclaims Alex before looking at her in shock. “I would never, ever hurt you. You're my mate, the one given to me by the Moon Goddess herself, why would I ever hurt you?”
Searching his eyes in hopes of catching a lie, she tries to find the hidden meaning behind it only to sigh when she finds none, her body moving to completely lean against him as she did.
“Then… Let’s call Keira” whispers Rosalyn, Alex now looking at me as I simply nod my head before reaching for the phone to call Cade.
Holding baited breath, everyone within the room moves to wait. By the time the phone rings again, Cade finally answers the phone, my finger putting him on speaker phone so that everyone within the room could hear the conversation.
“Cade?” I called out to him through the phone.
“Eros?” questions Cade. “What a nice surprise. And to what honor do I owe this lovely phone call for?”
“I need help. Ares and Athena were taken. And I was told that your mate, Keira, would possibly be able to help me find them.”
Pausing, Cade growls softly.
“By who?”
“Rosalyn”
Grumbling, Cade almost sounds a little reluctant to help which causes me to finally snap as I move to speak up next.
“For FUCK sake CADE! I’m only asking for help, not FUCK your mate. We used to be really good friends. Is this how friends treat friends?” I ask, finally snapping from all the bullshit that had been going on from the past two days.
“And this is MY MATE you're asking for” growls Cade, his voice protective of what was his.
“Please… You know I wouldn’t sit here and ask you if it wasn’t important” I whisper, almost to the point of begging.
Sensing his pause, one would think that Cade himself had magically hung up the phone until suddenly another voice appeared over the phone, a female voice.
“I’ll help. If Rosalyn has asked for me personally then I’ll do it, I’ll help” replies the girl who can only be assumed to be Keira.
“Thank you” I breathe, relief flooding through me at finally getting somewhere.
“Don’t mention it, we’ll see you soon Eros” was all Cade says before he moves to hang up the phone. The air in the Office now thick with tension once more as everyone moves to wait for Cade and his mate to arrive.
