Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 148

**Alex's POV**

The moment Eros and Cade had gotten off the phone with one another the tension within the air continued to hang way longer than it should have. Rosalyn still tense as she continued to stand next to me as we all sat waiting.

A part of me remembering how she had reacted when she thought that either Rick or I would punish her for not speaking up sooner or the fact of knowing that Lily would have punished her for even the slightest thing such as that.

My hands now clenching into fists. Lily. Of course, a little bitch who was trying to play Luna when she wasn’t. To be a person that she wasn’t meant to play the role of. As for Rosa… Well… She was my Queen, my everything and I would be damned if I let someone else hurt her ever again so long as I still lived.

And while Athena and her mates were to become the new heirs of mine and Rick's pack, neither one of us cared to take them back from her. No. Because long ago it had been decided that as long as Athena was willing, our packs would be hers until such a time came when she would either pass them onto her own children or hand them back over to us.

Until then, the packs were hers to run and shape as she saw fit, giving Rick and I the ability to leave the packs. The ability to search for our mates. Mates that we couldn’t find until just now as the Moon Goddess had finally blessed us with them.

Elstan purring like a kitten who has finally found his mate. Yet, although a Witch, Elstan and I forever vowed that we would love her and cherish her now and forever and to make sure that she knew just how loved she would be until our last dying breath.

‘Mate is ours… Now and forever’ purrs Elstan, currently in a state of total bliss.

‘Always Elstan, Always’ I move to say back to him, wanting my wolf to be happy. Happy in knowing that each of us finally had a mate to call our own.

Just then the sound of knocking can be heard and the door slowly opens to reveal Kai. His expression tense as he moves to lock eyes with those within the room before speaking up to Eros.

“Alpha, Alpha Frost is here. His mate is with him as well” replies Kai, never once breaking eye contact with Eros.

“Send them in Kai, thanks.”

Nodding his head, he moves to do as he’s told and moves to let Cade and Keira enter the room, Keira moving to stand close enough to her mate until she was needed to help, Rosalyn and her eyes meeting for only a brief second before turning away from each other.

“Nice home Eros. Decorating?” asks Cade as he moves to enter the room before moving to approach Eros’s desk.

“Just a little remodeling. You know to fit our new needs that’s all” admits Eros, now gesturing to a chair over by the desk before him.

“How are things over at Nightshade?”

“Things have been… Well” admits Cade, taking his seat in front of Eros as he does, Keira now in his lap as he moves to hold her protectively.

“And Leila?” questions Eros, obviously more aware of his history between the packs than most Alpha’s.

“She’s currently in Silverleaf Academy” answers Cade, pride now shining within his eyes. “She was accepted not too long ago and is working her way through school.”

Blinking, everyone moves to pause. The name Silverleaf Academy bringing back memories for many. For not only did Wolves from all over come to attend it but so did other mythical creatures as well for it was a school for the gifted. Alpha’s, Luna’s, Beta’s, Gamma’s and Delta’s from all over attended to better themselves including Enforcers or Warriors. Those who wanted to protect their packs even further. Even Omega’s attended but only if they could pass the entry exams.

It was where Rick, Ryder and I had met our own Beta, Gamma and Delta’s and where Ryder met his Luna, Selene.

But of course, Wolves weren’t the only ones who attended, no, Dragon’s, Fae, Witch, Wizard’s and Vampires also attended. It was how the Moon Goddess designed it. All her children in one place as they learned to harness their abilities and get a better understanding of our kind.

It was where Alpha’s like Eros and Ares attended, where Athena would have attended if she had been allowed to while living freely at home with her parents, Ryder and Selene but unfortunately her fate had taken a different turn when she was 9.

And like many, it was just another constant reminder of how Athena’s life had been taken away from her at such a young age. It wasn’t fair. But life was never fair. Just like now, Athena and Ares had both been taken and without clues to help find them, both just sitting ducks until we were able to locate them.

A sick little game that Lily was all too aware of and was practically enjoying as she waited for the next big move. My eyes now locked on Cade and Eros as they continued to sit in front of one another just chatting.

“Has Leila come home since being accepted?” asks Eros, curious to know the answer to that.

“Once… Over her break. She brought along her mates as well” chuckles Cade, amusement dancing upon his face as if he enjoyed the hand she was dealt.

“Mates?” asks Seraphine, having heard the “S” at the end of mate, causing Cade to turn around and spot her before smirking wider before answering her question.

“Yes, Mates. She has 6 of them. 2 Wolves, 1 Vampire, 1 Wizard and 2 Dragons, and each an Alpha in their own right too.”

“Whoa”

“Whoa is right, but for now I do believe we came here to help Ares and Athena, not talk about my little sister even though I would love nothing more than to talk about her as it’s been 18 long years for me and my pack and we just now finally got her back” admits Cade, a somber look now on his face as he remembers all the hardships that he and his family had to endure when she was taken from them.

Humming in agreement, Eros moves to gesture towards a map upon his desk. The same map that he had been studying with all packs that surrounded the Mystic Shadow Pack. My eyes now trained on the desk as I continued to hold onto Rosalyn, her presence enough to ground me as we waited.

Nudging his mate softly, Keira moves to look at the map as well, a small crystal pendant now in her hand as she moves to hold it up and over the map, her eyes closed as she concentrates. The pendant lightly swaying from side to side as it tries to find Athena and Ares. Breaths still as we watched and waited.

Please, let this work, I silently plead, a part of me hoping that Keira could help us for fear of Eros losing his damn mind if she couldn’t.

‘Trust in her. If mate says she can help us then we need to believe in her. We need to trust her abilities as a Witch’ whispers Elstan, my wolf never stirring me wrong. Not even when we first met. It was the day Rick, Ryder and I had finally received our wolves and our parents couldn’t have been prouder of us.

‘Alright, if you trust her then I will too,’ I murmured back to him, sending up silent prayers to the Moon Goddess. Eyes still on the pendant even as it began to glow. Two thin lines beginning to form even as they move to split off in opposite directions from one another, indicating that Athena and Ares were in two different places from one another. The only question was who was in what direction.

“Fuck” whispers Rick, having seen the lines as well. “Looks like things just got a whole lot more complicated than we expected them to be.”

Indeed. Indeed they did.
