Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 165: Bonus Chapter: Seraphine’s Birthday Surprise

**Sera's POV**

Looks like a good day for rain, I muse, my eyes moving to watch out the big huge windows of the library that I was in. A day that should have been filled with lots of fun and excitement only turned into a big long day of gloominess.

And to top it all off the house was silent. Not a single soul in sight or at least it's what I think since I haven’t really left my spot since coming into the room this morning once Rick had left the house to run errands.

Sighing, I move to shift teal color eyes back in the direction of my book. A wave of disappointment washing over me because today was supposed to be special and yet no one was around or bothered enough to try.

Sighing again, I move to finally stand up.

“Can’t really fault them though. After all who would have known that today was my 17th Birthday” I murmur to myself, not bothering to hide my disappointment either, choosing to remind myself that I’m officially one year closer to getting my wolf and another step closer to Rick finally claiming me.

With thoughts of Rick now circulating around my mind I can’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy inside. A heat now rushing all around me as I think about finally being marked by the man who wasn’t just older than me by 20 some years but by a man who was my mate and wanted me because of that.

Shaking my head, I attempt to clear those thoughts away, or at least for now I would. My nose now lightly sniffing the air for his scent. A scent that I’ve been secretly craving the longer I stay with him.

The scent of cedar and ash with just a tiny hint of orange instantly makes my skin crawl but in a good way. And while I silently refuse to admit it to anyone other than myself, his scent is what anchors me when I tend to get into one of my ruts. Like now.

Sniffing again, I move to let my feet and nose help guide me. My feet now leading me up towards our bedroom. Ours. Feeling my cheeks heat at the thought, I attempt to push it all aside once more. Only to fail.

Oh who am I kidding anyway?

Carefully moving to make my way up the stairs I can’t help but notice that the scent of cedar, ash and orange only seems to grow stronger the closer I get which is odd because Rick wasn’t supposed to be home yet or was he?

“Rick?” I move to call out, considering the fact I didn’t have a direct link to him yet due to the lack of mate bond.

“Rick?”

Seeing the door to the room, I move to approach it slowly only to pause long enough before giving myself a quick scolding before finally moving to open the door.

A gasp rising at what I was finally seeing before my eyes.

“What in the world?”

Moving to step forward into the room, I’m instantly greeted by soft candle light and beautiful rose petals as they are carefully scattered around the room. The petals drawing my attention towards the bed. Currently unaware of Rick as he moves to walk up behind me. His arms now wrapping themselves around my waist as he moves to pull me close to him.

“Hello my darling mate” whispers Rick as he moves to breathe me in.

“Hello. What in Mother Moon’s name is all of this? I didn’t think I would see you until later today or anyone else for that matter as well.” I murmur trying not to ramble.

“I’m sorry if you felt that way, but as you can see, I wanted to surprise you for your birthday. I couldn’t go all day and let my mate think that I completely forgot her birthday now could I?” asks Rick playfully which causes me to smile at his words.

“No. I suppose you couldn’t have”

Now chuckling, he moves to lead me over towards the bed in which I move to sit down. Rick now moving to close the bedroom door with a soft click for more privacy before moving to rejoin me back on the bed, a smile never once leaving his face as he did.

“Rick?” I whisper, trying not to panic or over think things right this second.

“Yes?” purrs Rick, hoping to calm me down some as he moves to sit closer to me on the bed, preventing any gaps to form between us.

“What are we doing?”

“Isn’t it obvious? I plan to pamper my mate for her birthday, just you and me and no one else. Because I’ve waited far too long for this day and now that I have you, I want to spend this time with you and only you.”

Swallowing thickly, I move to ask him again.

“Like how?”

“Mmm… Well, I was thinking of a nice hot bubble bath together for starters or-” starts Rick, his eyes still on mine as he continues to hold my gaze.

“Or?” I ask, now feeling heat pool in areas that began making me nervous at what his other option was.

“Or… I can spend all day and night pleasuring my mate in ways that she can only imagine” teases Rick, his hand now trailing lightly along my bare thigh, having been sitting all day in shorts and a tank I hadn’t really put much effort into anything else or how I looked for that matter since no one bothered to celebrate my birthday.

Well, except for Rick. He got brownie points for remembering that today was my birthday which makes me smile. Because deep down, all that mattered to me truly was that my mate actually remembered me. Everyone else was just an added bonus.

Still, with him caressing my skin gently, Rick moves to continue speaking.

“Sera, I know I said that I would wait to mark you until you got your wolf, but waiting until you turned 18 and deprive you of other luxuries is something that my wolf, Arden very much hates with me and is constantly whining to me about all at the same time too.”

Amused, I move to push for more.

“Oh? And what luxuries are those?” I tease, hoping he would elaborate further because a part of me was secretly hoping it was exactly what it was that he was highly suggesting we do, a thing I’ve desperately wanted.

“Luxuries like this” was all he said before moving to kiss me gently. A soft gasp rising at being caught off guard as he moves to explore my mouth, his tongue touching every inch that it could as a moan escapes from within his mouth only for him to devour it right back down.

Feeling myself tingle I fight the urge to push for more, wanting him to be the one to guide me. To show me what it’s like to have a mate. Because back then, when I was taken by Ezra and his kind, they were anything but pleasant.

Just then, when air suddenly becomes a problem does Rick move to pull away only to kiss his way up and along my jaw and up towards my ear which causes me to moan out my own response, my body enjoying his touch.

“Do you like that little mate?”

“Yes”

“Good”

Now moving to make his way down and along my neck, does his nose move to find that spot. The spot that he would officially mark as his once I got my wolf. A shiver running through me at the thought.

“Here” whispers Rick, as he moves to kiss my neck gently. “This is where I shall mark you once you're 18 and you have your wolf.”

Fighting to resist another shiver of delight and the much anticipation I silently begin counting down the days until I finally turn 18 and he can officially make me his. 

“Mmm, my beautiful mate. I can already smell you and I haven’t even started yet. Your anticipation of me marking you is truly a sight to behold.”

“B-Because it is… I want nothing more than for you to mark me. To claim me. It’s something I’ve been dreaming about since the day we met and you claimed me as your mate for those to see.”

“And I will. Trust me.”

A little cheesy but just a little something to make the anticipation of what’s to come in the next book all the more sweeter as Seraphine will be turning 18 and with that her wolf.
