Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 160: Epilogue 1

**Athena's POV**

\-3 Months Later-

It’s late into the evening and Ares and Eros are currently putting Adrian and other children to bed while I on the other hand work on my nighttime routine. A routine that was highly suggested to me by Elise when last we spoke over the phone. Something that has quickly become our daily routine in each of our lives.

Smiling at the thought of Elise, it quickly becomes other worldly especially after learning that she and Ashton are to be expecting another child. A little girl that they plan to name Ameila. Ameila Hayes.

‘I’m so excited for them. So glad that Jayden gets to become a big brother finally’ I muse to Artemis, my own child on the cusp of being born soon now at the forefront of my mind.

‘Indeed. Yet if it’s any sort of constellation prize, she’ll grow up to become Luna of Isaac’s pack someday with their son Evan’ chuckles Artemis. Clearly enjoying the fact that she knew who was to be mated to who and what pack.

‘Can you please stop that?’ I move to ask her.

‘Why? Don’t you like knowing that Ameila and Evan will someday grow up to become mates or how Jayden and Samara will grow up to become mates too?’ asks Artemis, amused by my lack of enthusiasm.

‘No. No I don’t. And you knowing this is just totally weird. Next I’m sure that you’ll tell me that our little one who's within my belly will somehow be connected to Cara’s son, Dane’ I retort back only for her to become silent. A silence I’ve become accustomed to because usually when she was it usually meant I was spot on.

‘Artemis?’ I call out to her, my voice now firm.

‘Yes?’ chimes Artemis as if knowing what I was going to ask her next.

‘Are they?’

‘Are they what?’

‘Mates? Are they mates? Is our daughter going to be mated to Cara’s son Dane?’ I move to ask again, the need to know rising.

Pausing in her next set of words, I move to wait for her to give me her answer.

‘Yes’

Shocked by that answer, I move to grip the counter like a lifeline, my mind in a state of shock at finding this out, especially with us being so close to delivery too.

‘Wait, What?’ I ask again.

‘Dane and our child will become mates. I told you this once before. The Moon Goddess only pairs her children with mates that she deems worthy of one another and the fact that both of our children will become future Luna’s of Dark Moon and Snow Moon must mean that Mother Moon wants us to continue our alliances in a more permanent way.’

‘Yeah, but… that still doesn’t help explain about Adrian, Ryder and Nathan’ I move to say back, wanting to see her have a rebuttal for them as well.

‘Well…. About that’ starts Artemis, causing me to choke almost instantly on my spit.

‘ARTEMIS’

‘What?’

‘Please don’t tell me there's more to this’ I say, almost dead panning by her words.

‘Okay’

‘Wait. You said that almost too cheerily. What aren’t you telling me?’ I demand.

‘Nothing’

‘Artemis, don’t you dare lie to me, what do you know about the boys?’

Sighing she moves to answer me truthfully.

That maybe… Ryder might already have a mate waiting in the wings’ she quips as if it wasn’t such a big deal and we would have seen it eventually.

‘What? Who?’ I ask now curious.

‘Aela’

‘WHAT? You mean Maya’s little girl? That Aela’

‘Yes’

‘How?’

‘Why does it matter how? You act like you didn’t see this coming. Maya and you are nowhere near blood related. In fact you aren’t even related biologically. So why does it matter if Mother Moon has given future Lycan King ruler, Ryder, Aela as a mate?’

Groaning at all this new found information I fail to notice the increase in pressure within my lower belly until suddenly I feel a wetness pooling between my legs and instant pain now shooting all throughout my body.

Gasping at what I’m feeling I move to call out to my mates.

“ARES! EROS! HELP”

Gripping the counter, I try to shove my pain aside, my child suddenly coming along with contractions now kicking in was enough to set me into motion.

“Oh Moon” I whimper, trying to remember all my breathing techniques from when I was pregnant with my triplets.

The sound of running feet reaching my ears as my mates move to run back up the stairs, each of them rushing for the bathroom that I was in.

“ATHENA” cries Ares, having been the first one to enter the room.

“Oh GOD…. Ares… I-I think our baby is finally coming. My water just broke and my contractions are coming pretty quickly”

Alarmed by my sudden realization that I was officially giving birth by going into active labor, does Ares move to pick me up bridal style, moving to carry me from within the room. Eros now contacting the Pack Hospital and letting them know to be ready as we quickly move to get there.

Adrian, still being the oldest amongst the four of them, was told to hold down the fort until either Gwen or Alarick could arrive to help watch over them even though Adrian was 6 and has shown just how capable he was of watching his siblings while we were away many times before then.

“Oh God. Oh God” I cry, clinging to Ares even as we continue to rush towards the Hospital. The Hospital now on standby as they all stand waiting for our arrival.

Upon arriving over at the Hospital, Ares instantly lays me down upon the stretcher before allowing the doctors and nurses to do their jobs which was wheeling me into Labor and Delivery, my child not waiting for anyone not even them.

“Easy Alpha’s. The Luna is in safe hands” replies one of the nurses as she stands with them within the lobby.

Grunting in response, Ares and Eros can only nod their heads. Both of them forced into waiting like last time while I on the other hand move to give birth to our child.

\-An Hour Later-

“Congratulations Luna. You’ve successfully delivered a perfectly healthy baby girl” whispers a nurse as she moves to hand her over to me.

With a smile upon my face, I move to make the mother-daughter connection like I’ve done previously with all my children except Adrian as I was not the one who birthed him by placing her against my bare chest, allowing us to bond.

“Oh my gosh, you're so tiny compared to your other siblings” I coo, already smitten with my tiny bundle of joy even as Ares and Eros are finally able to enter the room with us.

Each of them now coming over towards the bed the moment they get a good look at their daughter.

“She’s adorable” whispers Eros, instantly attached to her the minute he sees her.

“Just like her mother” whispers Ares, also smitten with her just like I was once she was delivered.

“What did you decide to name her love?” now questions Ares, having realized neither he or Eros had bothered to ask me what I named her.

“Saige. Saige Moonheart”

Smiling at the name does Ares and Eros move to place gentle kisses upon her head and mine. Each of us happy to officially have her within our arms and within our family.

Welcome to the family little one. Mommy will always protect you, no matter what, come my determined thoughts as I move to shoot up silent prayers to the Moon Goddess to always watch over my family. Now and forever.
