Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 55

**Athena’s POV**

“We don’t have much choice in the matter” is all I hear from Eros, knowing fully well that both my mates hated Jacob, just as much as Artemis did, except for different reasons, ours being that he rejected us for my cousin Diana.

‘This is going to be bad’ I murmur to Artemis, knowing that nothing good ever happens between Alpha’s. At least with those we hated. Like Jacob.

‘Agreed. Maybe we should have gone alone’ whispers Artemis, weighing our options that laid before us.

‘Are you nuts? They would've be even angrier if we tried to approach Jacob all on our own’ I say, scolding her for even suggesting that.

‘They’d still be angry regardless’ remarks Artemis, not seeing the logic behind my words.

Groaning, I move to ignore her, my attention now on my mates as we move in the direction of Jacob, who by the way was currently outside waiting for us. The Omega's not trusting him enough to let him into the packhouse.

‘Do you blame them?’ scoffs Artemis as if making a point.

‘Do you mind. If you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say it at all’ I say, finally having just about enough of her at the moment.

Taking in her pause, I move to speak again, ‘Look, I know you hate him. I hate him too for obvious reasons, but for now can we at least see what he has to say before we attack him? He’s still Alpha of the Moon Walker Pack’ I add quickly, before she could think of a comeback.

Sighing, she refuses to speak, only hanging close to me in case I needed her. ‘Sorry’ she mutters. Smiling, I know she means it before returning my attention back to the task at hand. Jacob.

Biting my lip, I couldn’t help but admit I was nervous, especially when it came down to seeing Jacob again. Please, let this visit go smoothly, I plead to the Moon Goddess, Jacob slowly coming into view, having walked on ahead of my mates, as they walked ever so slowly behind me with their father and Alpha.

“Jacob, Hell-” I start only to be cut off as Jacob grabs me by the throat, officially cutting off my words, my hands clawing at his hands as I try to pry them away, struggling to breath, my mates still not with me yet.

“This. Is. ALL. Your. FAULT” yells Jacob in anger not caring if I couldn’t breath at the moment.

“J-Jacob… Please…” I struggle, desperately trying to get him to let go of me.

Growling, he only holds tighter. ‘Artemis’ I cry in hopes she’d be able to help me. ‘ATHENA’ cries Artemis, trying to help me but unable to for some apparent reason. Coughing, I begin to feel my vision cloud over only to be yanked away suddenly as Jacob now lays sprawled out on the ground. Ares and Eros now in wolf form growling.

“ATHENA” cries Alarick, just as he cradles me against his chest, his eyes trained on his sons and the Alpha who just tried to strangle me.

“I-I’m okay” I cough, my hands moving towards my neck. Knowing there would be a bruise there as Jacob had squeezed me pretty tight. Successfully cutting off my airway.

“Ares… Eros” calls Alarick to his sons, only for them to growl in reply. Two big black wolves with one sporting a patch of white on his snout, now standing between us and Jacob.

“STOP! BOTH OF YOU” I cry, their eyes moving to glance back towards me. Turning back towards Jacob, does Ares moves to shift back, Eros still in wolf form as he moves to sit down in front of me, almost like a shield.

Once back in human form does Ares move to speak, not caring who saw him naked as he now stood his ground. Having torn his clothes when Zeus jumped forward, having sensed I was in danger and needed to act fast.

"If you EVER touch my mate like that again, we will personally kill you without haste” growls Ares, Zeus standing behind his eyes as they glared at him.

“Try it, I dare you! My father will destroy your pack if you even try to kill me” growls Jacob as he moves into a sitting position, his face angry as he looks directly at me, his wolf now present behind his own eyes.

“After all, she’s the whole reason why I’m here! If it weren’t for her, the Rogue King would have never shown his face to us. I knew we should have given you away when we had the chance” replies Jacob, revealing vital information.

“WHAT?” asks Ares in surprise.

“You mean you don’t know?” taunts Jacob, his eyes still on me as I now clung to Alarick. “Why, your little mate was supposed to go to the Rogue King years ago, but my dear ol father refused him, the fool. He could have prevented all of this if he had just given her to him when he asked. Even her family didn’t want her.”

Listening to Jacob’s words, I try hard not to cry, not wanting to believe him. His words spliting my heart in two, Not even own family wanted me back then. I was just their burden.

“Your lying” growls Ares, not wanting to believe Jacob, but then remembered how Maya spoke about my family and what the Rogue King had recently revealed to them that day in the forest.

Smirking, Jacob moves to continue, taunting my mates only for Alarick to finally speak up. “ENOUGH! All of you. Ares, Eros, go get some clothes on. Jacob, follow me. My office, NOW” and with that said, Alarick moves to lead me back towards his office, his arms still holding me protectively as he did.

Glancing towards Jacob, does Eros move to give yet another growl before stepping aside, allowing him to pass.

‘You heard father, we better go get some clothes on’ replies Ares to his brother as they move to head inside, making quick work in returning to their rooms for new clothes.

\-Alarick’s Office-

Upon returning to Alarick’s office, do I instantly move to sit far enough away, not wanting a repeat from earlier as Artemis growls. Ready to claw off his face should she have too.

“Sit” orders Alarick, his eyes still on Jacob who does as he's told, a smirk gracing his lips as he did. Once seated does Alarick move to speak again. “You do realize that you just attacked a future Luna of this pack. Right? And for that my sons do have the right to kill you on sight. But since your an Alpha of another pack, I shall send word back to your father and let him handle you.”

“Please, he won’t do shit. He loves me way too much to punish me properly. No matter what happens or how angry he might get” laughs Jacob, not scared of his own father.

“Oh he will, Once we tell him that you just tried to hurt not only our mate but future heir to Mystic Shadow pack” adds Ares, once he and Eros enter, Kai, Seth and Sam all present as they move to protect their Luna from any further harm.

Pausing in his words, does Jacob pale. His eyes now moving to look at me.

“Y-Your… Pregnant?”

“Y-Yes” I answer, watching as his face turns paler. Alarick in a state of shock and surprise as well.

“Im-Impossible” whispers Jacob, too stunned to say anything else.

“Oh it’s quite possible, Jacob. Athena is with mine and Ares’s child. For that, we most certainly can give you death. Not only for attacking our mate but our child as well” growls Eros, not happy with Jacob nor was Ares, their eyes trained on him, as their wolves move into full blown protective mode.

Looking towards the Alpha twins and then back towards me, does Jacob move to beg, not wanting to be punished by death as he graveled now realizing the extent of the danger he put himself in when he choked me.

“Please… Please.. I’m so sorry… I was angry… I didn’t truly mean any harm” pleads Jacob, knowing that if he didn’t apologize now he would be in major trouble later.

“Jacob, I-” I try, trying to find the right words to say to him.

“PLEASE! Diana is with child! Would you kill me and leave her mateless, only to raise the child all alone?” begs Jacob. “Please… I’ll take whatever punishment from my father, just please, spare me.”

At hearing Jacob confess about Diana being pregnant, I suddenly feel like I’m drowning. The thought of them always together now sends daggers through my heart. Pain pushing me over the edge as I cry.

“LEAVE!” I yell, shocking everyone from within the room. “LEAVE! I no longer want to see any of you from the Moon Walker Pack, ever."

Nodding, Jacob quickly moves to dash from the room, not needing to be told twice as I slowly sink to the ground in tears. “ATHENA” cry Ares and Eros, both of them now moving to hug me. My heart shattering from all the years of believing that everyone at the Moon Walker pack truly cared for me.

‘We’re truly alone’ I whisper to Artemis, crying into our mates arms, the room now silent except by my tears as they fall. Sobs racking my body as I do.
