Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 149

**Athena's POV**

‘Athena’ whispers a voice softly, my body in and out of a state of consciousness. My body hurting as my mind tries to think back to the events at the house. My body, although in wolf form, had taken quite a beating. From being bitten to being thrown around the house, colliding with any and all things inside of it I was surprised nothing had been broken in terms of bone wise.

‘Athena’ calls the voice again.

‘Huh?’ I murmur back, my eyes slowly blinking open only to realize that I was still in my wolf form. Something hard and cold clamping down and around my neck which was preventing me from moving around too much as I tried to figure out why I hadn’t shifted back.

‘Artemis?’ I call out to the voice, a part of me hoping it was her, our link having been silent up till now.

‘Yes’ answers Artemis, tears now threatening to fall from my eyes upon hearing her voice.

‘What happened to us? Where are we? How are we still in wolf form?’ I ask, the need to know rising with every second that passes.

‘Easy there. We were taken by Brian, Shane and David’ admits Artemis making our fur and skin crawl at the mention of those three in general.

‘I-I remember now. They were the ones who broke into the house. They were the ones who threatened to hurt and kill out children’ I growl softly just as the sound of a door opening draws my attention only to pause. Brian, Shane and David each standing within the doorway of the room. A glare beginning to rise as I moved to greet them since I couldn’t exactly talk to them like a normal person thanks to being stuck in wolf form at the moment.

“Aww… What's the matter, Athena, angry?” taunts Brian as he moves to approach me as another low growl moves to rise past my lips as I try to stand up only to stop when my back leg begins to throb from where Shane had bitten me during our fight.

“I think she is” taunts Shane, his eyes now on me as well as he watches with amused eyes, pleased with seeing me cornered.

“Well, soon, very soon, everything will slowly fall into place once and for all” sneers Brian as he moves to crouch down in front of me. My eyes now turning curious by his words as I try to keep a safe distance between us.

Fall into place? I muse, more to myself than to anyone else including Artemis.

Chuckling at my curiosity, Brian moves to elaborate more.

“Soon dear Athena, soon you’ll fight Ares. Winner takes all. The loser gets death. A fitting end for you and your mates since you chose to throw it all away for them. You could have had it all. But what do you do? Throw it all away for those idiots. So Lily and I decided to see which of you two will win in a battle of life or death” laughs Brian, his eyes saying that he meant it completely.

Feeling my rage begin to rise I instantly try to lunge myself forward towards him regardless of the silver collar that I now realize was around my neck only to be grabbed roughly by my scruff and pressed to the ground harshly. A low growl rising to greet me as they did.

“I do hope, for your sake, that you're the one to actually win in this little battle of wits. That way Shane, David and I can then thoroughly enjoy you like we’ve always wanted to do back when you lived in Moon Walker.”

Then with a final shove towards the ground, Brian moves to pin me with more force than needed, his eyes still on mine even as he moves to speak yet again, “Bring me the tranquilizer. It’s time we took her to the next spot that Lily has waiting for us.”

Attempting to free myself after hearing the words tranquilizer I continue to struggle even as Shane moves to approach me, handing Brian something small with a needle before jabbing me in the back of my neck. My vision darkening almost instantly. My final thoughts are of Ares as I succumb to the darkness.

**Eros's POV**

While sitting at my desk waiting patiently I can’t help but notice Cade’s mate, Keira. A petite, yet curvy little witch no taller than 5’3 opposed to Cade’s 6’3 frame. Her hair a bright red color while her eyes were also a fiery red but with tiny specks of orange to them which could only be seen when the light bounced off them just right otherwise they just looked red.

‘She’s cute and totally compliments Cade perfectly’ whispers Deimos, even as we all sat watching with bated breath.

‘Indeed she does’ I murmur back, knowing that Cade was very much similar to Cara in every aspect of appearance. Both having tattoos along their bodies along with holding icy blue eyes and light color hair. Giving a person the impression that they were related when in reality they were not.

Pausing in my thoughts we all continue to watch, even as Keira moves to hold out a pendant over the map laying on my desk. A part of me wondering how that would help us only to pause in that thought when the pendant began to glow a soft blue.

What the? I muse, my eyes still on the pendant.

The pendant glowing and glowing until two tiny beams of light move to split off in opposite directions of one another, my eyes glancing to where they had pointed.

“I-Is this correct?” I ask, my voice surprised. One beam now pointing towards a secluded spot just outside of Moon Walker while the other led towards the Shadowmoon Coven, a place that Rosalyn had pointed out to us earlier and I completely dismissed it not thinking Lily could have been there.

“My pendant never lies” whispers Keira, her hand moving to lower the pendant. The map now glowing with two tiny beams of light.

Still glancing towards the map, I begin to slowly feel a surge of hope begin to rise deep within me only to watch as one dot begins to move along the map, away from Moon Walker and towards a vast open field. A field I knew all too well. The final battle ground for the Hunter’s Moon that was about to take place.

Fuck, I groan inwardly to myself, slowly putting the pieces together slowly. Lily didn’t just organize this, she planned for it. She wanted a bloodbath and what better way to achieve that than to take Athena and Ares as her pawns.

Damn it.

Moving to stand up, I move to look at those within the room. “It’s time. We need to move, NOW. The final battle with Lily is about to take place and we need to act.” I order, my eyes now turning towards Kai who only nodded his head, his body turning to round up any and all warriors who were willing to fight.

Glancing towards Alex and Rick, I notice both of them move to nod their own heads. Both agreeing to fight alongside me. A fight that would probably end with casualties but it was something we couldn’t afford to take lightly not with so much riding on the outcome of the battle.

“Alright, let’s go. We can’t afford to waste anymore time here” with that in mind, I move to walk away from my desk, my body now heading for the Office door, those within the room all moving to follow me slowly as we all move to exit the room only to pause when Cade calls out.

“Eros?”

“Yeah?” I call back, my back towards him as I pause.

“I know it’s short notice but I would gladly help you if you need it” offers Cade.

“Thanks. How soon can you be ready? Elise, Cara and Isaac have each offered to help us like last time when I told them what happened to Ares and Athena.”

“Give me an hour, max. I can have my pack ready and waiting in that time frame” explains Cade as he and Keira move to stand up as well.

“Thanks, we’ll see you within the hour” is all I say as I move to finally leave the room. Alex and Rick both close behind me as we move to rally our troops.
