Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 6

**Eros POV**

During the walk back towards the pack house, do my thoughts keep going back to what Ares said about the mating ball and how strongly he felt that our mate would be there.

‘He’s right though’ replies Deimos, my wolf, who had been on edge lately since our last dream of the girl.

‘But what if he’s wrong?’ I ask, knowing there could be a slim chance of finding her only to go home empty handed.

‘He’s not though. Zeus and I are confident that OUR mate will be there and when we find her we’ll protect her’ comes Deimos’s confession which shocks me.

‘That confident huh?’ I chide, knowing that Deimos only rarely spoke when things were true otherwise he mostly stayed silent and let his brother handle everything else.

‘I am’ answers Deimos before moving towards the back of my mind, telling me that this discussion was over. Sighing, I decide to give him space because after all, it wasn’t like he could just leave because we were one and the same.

“Eros?” calls my brother making me pause just short of the pack house.

“Yeah?” I answer back, my eyes now trained on those of my brother.

“Remember, where in this together and together we’ll find Our Luna, Our Mate” replies Ares with a small smile before leading us inside.

“I know, thanks bro” is all I say, my feelings of uneasiness now subsiding once knowing that my brother was both bound and determined to find our mate no matter, because we would always keep looking.

Unfortunately my sense of relief is short lived as it grows along the lines of disgust, Ares and I slowly entering the pack house only to come face to face with an obnoxious sounding voice, one we had hoped to never hear again. “ARES! EROS! Oh how I missed you” comes the voice of Lily making us cringe, her body moving to embrace each of us as Deimos growls along with Zeus, neither liking Lily at all.

“L-Lily…. I thought you were still with family” I ask, my shock now pushed aside as I gaze at the girl now standing before us. Her 5’8 slender frame now lacking depth and muscle, her long blonde hair and blue eyes and D size breast being all she had going for herself as no one liked hearing her talk.

“I cut the trip short, after all, the Mating Ball is in just two days and since I’ve yet to find my mate I thought about going with the both of you” admits Lily as she tries her hardest to flirt which only earns her a growl from Ares.

“No Lily, you won’t” replies Ares, his voice annoyed by her mere presence.

“And why not? After all we’re all mateless here” answers Lily, attempting to sound shocked as well as hurt.

“Because WE are not mateless… Our mate will be at that ball” I tell her before Ares could. “And when we find her she will become OUR Luna not some Chosen.”

“WHAT?!” shouts Lily looking appalled by my response.

“You heard my brother Lily, you’ll never be OUR Luna. No matter what” growls Ares his dislike for Lily now fully evident upon his face.

“Y-You don’t seriously believe that, do you Ares?” whimpers Lily, trying her hardest to plead with him.

“Oh I do Lily, even Zeus doesn’t want you” grunts Ares ignoring her pout.

When her attempts fail on my brother does Lily slowly turn towards me, knowing her tatitics would work on me and I would show her mercy whereas Ares wouldn’t. “EROS…” whines Lily. “You don’t honestly believe that do you?”

Sighing, I turn my attention towards Lily. “Lily, Ares is right, you’ll never be our mate, our Luna and as Ares said earlier, we don’t want you not even our wolves want you” I say trying to reason with her.

“Y-Your both…. S-So MEAN” screams Lily as if trying to throw a tantrum.

“No where not” I tell her, annoyed by the fact that she would even say that, especially to her Future Alpha’s.

“Look… I’m not sure what kind of scheme you're looking to pull here but me and my brother aren’t interested. Sure, you were a good lay but that’s all you ever where, a good fuck and knowing that you’ve probably slept with half the pack now, just shows us how easy you are” I say knowing I probably shouldn’t have said that but Ares and I were desperate and she offered, something we both regret doing now.

Soon, silence fills the air, almost as if you could hear a pin drop, Lily frozen before us, her expression unreadable as she shuts down. Now lost within her mind until suddenly she shakes it off, forcing a smile as if what we just said didn’t phase her.

“You're so silly Eros, but don't worry, when I’m Luna I’ll be all you ever think about” says Lily with a smirk before turning and walking away, dread filling the air as she does.

“I don’t like this” I mutter over to Ares, my voice low incase someone could hear us.

“Don’t worry, she’ll never be Luna of our pack” replies Ares, his voice low also.

“But what if she tries to do something? Like an attempt to hurt our mate or worse, attempt to kill her?” I ask, worry now rising at the thought of our mate being hurt by Lily or anyone else from within the pack.

“Calm yourself Eros, our mate will always be protected no matter what, if not by us then by that of our Beta, Gamma and Delta. She’ll never be truly alone” answers Ares, knowing it was true.

“You're right, but I can’t help but feel like Lily will stop at nothing to get the Luna position” I huff, knowing that Lily would stop at nothing and I mean nothing just to get her way.

“And she’ll fail every time, come let us shower and then quickly talk to mom and dad before meeting up with Kai and the others for after all we’ll be busy for the next two days” chuckles Ares as he gently claps my shoulder before leading us up the stairs.

The trip up the stairs overall peaceful, neither Ares or myself having any trouble as we slowly made our way up towards the Alpha and Luna wing, the pack house built into four different levels. The main level, which consisted of the living room, main hall where all the pack members could come and go or to just enjoy a meal, a game room, a work out room as well as a pool, the kitchens, a ballroom for formal events and of course a training room for all our warriors.

The second level was where we kept the offices for the Alpha, Luna, Beta, Gamma and Delta along with a meeting room, war room, security room as well as guest suites for visiting packs who were there on business. The third level was strictly for Beta, Gamma and Delta along with their families. That floor in general being built to house 3 large suites that then subdivided into smaller rooms for each member of that family.

The last and final floor, which was considered the fourth floor, was strictly for the Alpha and Luna of the pack. It was known as the Alpha floor or Alpha wing as most called it for on one side of the wing was mine and Ares’s room along with our own master suite for when we had found our fated mate while on the other side of the hall was our parents room, the current Alpha and Luna of our pack.

Upon reaching our floor do we quickly begin heading for our rooms, each of us now entering as we do, our rooms almost identical to one another except for color as mine was more towards grays and blues with hints of silver while Ares’s room had reds and golds with hints of black. My hands now locking my bedroom door as I do, a piece of me not wanting to risk anything with Lily being present before moving to take off my clothes, making a bee line for the bathroom, a shower sounding wonderful after everything that happened that day.
