Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 153

**Eros's POV**

When racing through the woods with Kai and those willing to fight to save Ares and Athena, all I could do in that given moment to keep from losing myself to the chaos was try and keep focus at the task at hand. My mate and my brother, nothing else.

‘Mates are close. I can feel her. Ares too’ whispers Deimos, our paws racing through the uncharted territory.

‘Perfect. It means we’re heading in the right direction then’ I confirm to Deimos.

Releasing a howl, I hope that by howling I can somehow reach Athena or Ares.

Please… Please, let them hear my howl, I plead to the Moon Goddess. A part of me hoping that she was with us like always.

Howling again, I nearly topple over when I hear a faint howl back in the distance. A howl that sounded like it came from our mate. Athena.

ATHENA!

Catching her howl yet again, I move to push myself harder. The edge of the forest coming into view as I’m suddenly the first one to dive out and into the opening. Athena now laying naked beneath Ares as Ares' massive frame attempts to hover over hers. His snout pressed against her neck as if he was about to bite into her. My blood running cold as I try not to think of Ares harming our mate or worse killing her.

‘Relax. Ares would never hurt mate. At least not intentionally’ whispers Deimos as he too bares witness to the scene before us.

‘Not helping’

Shifting my focus away from my brother and mate for only a second, completely trusting Ares as Deimos suggests I move to turn my attention over to Lily instead. Lily currently foaming at the mouth at realizing her plan has backfired on her.

“NO!” cries Lily, her voice still annoying as ever as I move to race towards them, a piece of me hoping that by placing myself in the middle of her and Athena that I could somehow shift all her attention over to me instead, almost like a human shield.

This ends now. No more will Lily threaten those I love and cherish.

With that in mind, I move to finally stand between Lily and Athena. My back now towards my brother and mate as I suddenly surprise Lily with my presence. Catching her completely off guard as I did.

Kai and the others now slowly arriving as well, each of them slowly moving to emerge from the treeline. Elise, Cara and Isaac slowly appearing as well. Addison and Brayden now standing next to Zara as if waiting for a command. A smirk rising at knowing we had two powerful dragons within our group of fighters.

“NO! This isn’t how it ends! Not now, Not ever” cries Lily in total frustration, her body finally shifting into Clover as she moves to stand before me, her teeth bare as if ready to fight me until death.

Chaos now erupting all around us as Rogues and Witches move to fight those within our group. My eyes still locked on Lily and Clover as I move to ignore everything else all around me before speaking to just her.

‘Lily… this needs to end now! Your little game stops here. No longer will you torment my friends and family with your craziness. No more’ I move to say to her, knowing that Lily was still a part of our pack and thus could still hear me through the pack link.

‘NO! Athena dies here. Then so will those little brats. I should have been Luna. NOT HER.’ cries Lily, her eyes now hard and cold as she continues to watch me, her mind calculating her next move.

‘Lily’ I attempt to warn her, not liking the way she was acting.

‘NO! I am no longer that little girl who will just bend over for you. You lost that right when you two chose her over me.’

Then, before I can finally say or do anything else, does Lily move to pounce. Her paw making the first contact with me as she moves to hit me directly within the face. Her claw catching me by surprise as she moves to hit my snout, a growl rising as she does.

‘LILY’ I growl this time around, knowing she was attempting to push boundaries.

Snorting at hearing her name, Lily moves to block me from her side of the mind link. Her way of telling me that she was officially done with talking as she moves to attack me yet again, this time harder.

‘She needs to be taught a lesson in manners’ growls Deimos, clearly not happy with her in the least.

‘Forget manners. She’s completely lost it’ I move to say back to him, my body moving to dodge another one of her attacks.

‘So what are you suggesting that we do then?’

‘I don’t know. But I do know that she needs to pay for her mistakes. She can’t be allowed to just roam freely and think that it’s okay to hurt and harm others around her, including my family.’

Grunting in agreement, we both silently come to an understanding without speaking. Both of us now aware that the only way to end this once and for all would be through death. A death Lily had coming to her a long time ago, especially when she first threatened our mate and then when she decided to team up with Ezra, the Rogue King. For treason runs deep within our pack, and once you change teams, you were no longer considered a part of that pack, but an unwanted guest.

‘Are you sure about this?’ asks Deimos softly, wanting to make sure that what he sensed within my mind was the decision I was going to stick with.

‘Positive. There’s no helping her now. It’s clear as day that she doesn’t want it.’

With that in mind, Deimos and I move into a defense position, hoping to lead Lily into a false sense of security. Hoping she would lower her guard down long enough for me to attack her once and for all without leaving room for doubt.

Lily, I truly am sorry with every fiber in me that you honestly feel like you're entitled to being our Luna, but in all honesty, you're not. You’ll never be our Luna, our Mate. The Moon Goddess has spoken on that, all I can do now is hope that she shows you mercy in your next life, come my final thoughts as I move to tackle Lily to the ground. Lily having slipped on one of her attacks like hoping which left her wide open to an attack from me.

Yelping in surprise, Lily isn’t prepared for when I tackle her. My huge body now pinning her just below me as I move to gaze into her icy cold eyes. No fear, no remorse, just cold, hard and calculating eyes.

‘Do it… I know you want to… End it, Eros. Kill me. Show her just how cold and cruel you can be’ taunts Lily, clearly wanting me to slip up in front of my mate. Hoping she would see just how murderous I could be without showing my prey any mercy or remorse. To be a person that I swore that I would never become because killing was never a sport for me, not like some, no killing meant there was no other choice left and death was the final option.
