Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 12

**Ares POV**

Rage, pure hot rage is all I could describe as I storm back into my room, my door slamming shut behind me as I do, my emotions running high especially with today’s events as today should have gone smoothly for Eros and I but didn't.

‘Relax’ calls Zeus as he tries to help me relax knowing my rage was getting out of control.

‘NO! How can you be so relaxed when the bitch was just spouting nonsense about being our Luna. Then to make things worse she even tried to pick a fight with Seth, our Gamma!’ I say to him, wanting to know how he could be so calm when I wasn’t.

‘Because getting worked up won’t help us, we need to remain level headed and think clearly about this’ admits Zeus truthfully.

Knowing he was right do I move to sigh, feeling my shoulders slump as I move to walk towards my closet, my eyes scanning the contents inside before moving to grab things that I would need for my trip to the Moon Walker Pack including an outfit for the ball.

Once securing all the clothes that I would soon need, do I move to grab my suitcase before heading for my bathroom and doing the exact same thing, making sure to only grab what I would need for the trip and nothing more.

Although, I think as I pause, packing all this is totally stupid as we're only staying for one day, but if father should find out it could bring the Council down on us which is something I’m not willing to do towards father.

Just then there’s a knock at my door which I completely ignore as I continue about my business wanting to get this show on the road before it gets even later in the day.

“Yo, is everything okay?” asks Eros as he enters, concerned when I didn’t answer the door.

“Ya” I said to him once everything was finally packed, my suitcase now resting on the bed before I moved to face Eros.

“You sure? You didn’t answer when I knocked” admits Eros, his eye arching as he clearly doesn't buy into what I just said.

Sighing, I move to tell him. “I’m just angry as well as annoyed with everything. Annoyed that Lily had to come back home and angry over the fact that father and mother refuse to do anything about it. Then there's Lily trying to pick a fight with Seth.”

“I know” sighs Eros as he too felt angry and annoyed. “But look on the bright side, in less than 24hrs we'll get to have our mate.”

At the mention of our mate I can’t help but smile, knowing that this was all worth it just to finally have her here with us. “Crazy” I whisper my smile growing bigger as it does.

“Indeed crazy” remarks Eros who was also sporting a small smile the longer we thought of her.

“Happy to see you both finally smiling” comes the voice of our father, Alarick, both of us now turning to look at him, his tall athletic frame now standing in the doorway.

“Father” I say, my smile now gone as I nod in acknowledgement.

“Look… I know you both feel like me and your mother don’t care or that we’re just pushing this all to the side but-” starts Alarick only to be interrupted by Eros.

“Aren’t you though?”

“No” says Alarick, a small glare rising at being interrupted by his son. “What I wanted to say was that your mother and I very much do care but you're both also 23 and the next in line to be Alpha. It’s your responsibility to handle the necessary things that get thrown your way, as your mother and I won’t always be around to protect you and when that day comes we want to know that you’ll be able to handle it, along with protecting your mate and child should you have any.”

“Don’t worry, we'll handle any threat that comes our way. No one touches our mate and lives” growls Eros who couldn’t believe what he was hearing from their father.

“I know son, which is why I’ve come to tell you that your mother and I have tried reaching out to Lily’s parents but neither seem to be answering which seems a little odd if you ask me” sighs Alarick to his sons.

“What?” I ask, disbelief now rising.

“It’s true, your mother has tried multiple times to call them and I’ve tried reaching out to them via the pack link which also seems to not be working” replies Alarick, his face moving to show concern as he spoke.

“You don’t think?” asks Eros concerned by that bit of information.

“No, I would have felt it if both were dead. But the link is still very much intact, so we think they're either really busy or depending on where they are they can’t be reached” is all Alarick says, leaving that for another day.

“So now what?” I ask, unsure of how to go about the next round of questioning.

“Now? Now all I want is for you two to go and find your mate while your mother and I handle Lily for after her little stunt outside with Seth and the other pack members she isn’t allowed to attend the ball. She’ll be here where I can keep tabs on her” comes Alarick’s reply as he moves to hug his sons before moving to leave the room.

“That was… strange” comments Eros once our father had left the room, neither one of us being able to process the information that was given to us.

“Strange doesn’t even begin to say just how messed up this all is, but father’s right, the only thing we should be focused on right now is our mate and bringing her home.” is all I say to him as I move to grab my suitcase.

Nodding, he turns to leave only to pause. “Are you all packed?” questions Eros with one more look in my direction, his hand inches from the door handle.

“Ready” I smirk, my bag held tightly as I move towards the door, both of us exiting the room before letting the door close behind us as we make our way towards the staircase.

“Where's your bag?” I question, not seeing his bag upon reaching the stairs.

“In the car” chuckles Eros, who found it amusing that I didn’t think of that first.

“Are the others ready?” I ask, deciding to let his answer slide as we descend towards the main entrance of the house.

“Yes, Sam linked me while father was talking about Lily’s parents, their all downstairs and waiting by the car” comes Eros’s reply as we move to step outside.

“How many cars?” I ask knowing we all wouldn’t fit in just one.

“Two, Seth and Sam are taking one of the suv’s with Emma and Emily along with all the luggage and Kai and Lucas are riding with us in the other suv” says Eros as if that was the decision moving forward.

“And what about our mate?” comes my reply wondering how she would be able to sit with us.

“Easy, with us” smirks Eros as he leads me towards the black suv’s, both sporting the pack crest on either side of the doors as Seth works on loading up the backend of one of the vehicles with all the luggage.

“No shit” I say with a laugh. “And here I thought she was sitting with Seth and Sam in the other car” is all I muster, now moving towards Seth before tossing my bag into the backend of the car.

“Hey, don’t just toss, we need all the room we can get” says Seth as he places my bag neatly with all the others, knowing that he was right, for when we found our mate all her stuff would be coming home with us as well.

“Sorry” I laugh as I move over to the other suv, Kai and Lucas already in the front seat of the vehicle while Eros and I move to sit in the back, Seth now finished with the luggage. Sam currently in the passenger seat while the girls sat in the back.

Once settled, we move to start up the cars before moving to pull away, the trip to the Moon Walker Pack now in full swing as we would be arriving by dinner time as well as the other 12 packs, 2 in which were not attending as neither pack had heirs to them but didn’t stop other unmated wolves from attending, for after all that’s what the ball was for, to mate.

‘Ready?’ asks Zeus, our gaze moving towards the window as we drove.

‘Ready, I just hope that our mate will be as well’ I answer, a small twinge of fear now rising at the thought of our mate not being ready or worse unwilling to leave her pack as we make the 2hr long drive.
