Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 86

**Athena’s POV**

The moment that Ares and Eros had agreed to spare the Rogues, I instantly felt myself relax, not wanting to see any more unnecessary bloodshed as those who fought in battle lost their lives that same day.

‘You know he wouldn’t have done that’ whispers Artemis, having been protecting the babies when Ezra had managed to get into the secured bunker, something I had yet to figure out as I had been sitting with the children from the Orphanage, singing when suddenly we all heard a bang as the bunker door had opened causing many to jump and some to even scurry further in.

“Hiding are we?” chuckles Ezra as he had all but barraged his way into the bunker, causing me to rise as I moved to protect the children who were now cowering in fear behind me except for Adrian, as Adrian was standing protectively out in front of me as he moves to glare at the Rogue King.

“Leave us alone you big bully” growls Adrian, his little warrior side now showing.

Amused, Ezra can only chuckle as he moves to watch him, “My, My, such a strong little boy, careful or otherwise your parents won’t have a child anymore” chuckles Ezra as he moves closer, now standing a few feet away from us.

Growling, Adrian continues to stay strong, having wanted to protect the Luna, having liked her since the start. Still amused, Ezra can only laugh until his eyes begin to focus back on me, “Come along my dear sweet darling Athena, if you come willingly I won’t be forced to kill those within the bunker and I’m sure you’d hate to see me spill blood especially one of a young pup such as the one who stands before you” smirks Ezra, causing my heart strings to pull, knowing I was literally stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Biting my lip, I try to think of something, anything to help stall for time only to know that I couldn’t the rational side of me winning as I knew I had no choice but to surrender.

“If I go with you, do you promise to spare all those inside” I ask, wanting to make sure.

“Yes, you have my word as a King that I will spare those here if you willingly come back with me” replies Ezra.

Glancing at Adrian once more, I finally make up my mind as I move to approach him slowly only to have Adrian grab me by the hand, “Please don’t go” whimpers Adrian, my eyes now looking at his face to see his now frightened ones.

Moving to kneel down in front of him I move to cup his face gently, “It’s going to be okay my sweet little Adrian, I promise, everything will be alright and when this is all over I’ll have a nice big surprise waiting for you” I tell him, his eyes lighting up at the surprise.

“Promise?” asks Adrian.

“I Promise, now go to Luna Gwen and be brave for me okay?” I say hoping he would listen to me as I move to stand yet again, his small head nodding as he moves to stand next to Luna Gwen, her eyes now on me as she tries to stay strong.

Nodding silently over in her direction I try to show her what exactly I was trying to do threw my eyes watching as she nodded before moving to hold Adrian, a knowing look in her eyes as I move to approach the King, Ezra grabbing me by the arm as he moves to pull me from the room, yelping out in pain at the force of the grip.

Chuckling at my yelp does Ezra move to pull me over in the direction of the twins, finally had enough of the games and had moved to throw me aside, apparently not to concerned with me trying to flee as he moved to attack my mates.

Shaken from my thoughts do I move to turn around, voices making its way over to us as I move to see who it was only to see it was Luna Gwen along with the children and mates of those who fought, Adrian now running over to me as he moves to wrap his tiny little arms around my leg.

“Your okay” cries Adrian, still scared he would never see her again.

“Oh sweetheart, I promise, I’m not going anywhere ever” I move to say as I gently move to pick him up, Ares and Eros both eyeing my still in wolf form.

Smiling at their confused looks, do I move to speak again, “Loves, this is Adrian, Adrian this is-” I start only to be cut off by Adrian as he moves to look at my mates.

“Alpha Ares and Alpha Eros Moonheart. I know who Luna Athena” replies Adrian as he continues to eye my mates.

Impressed by what he knew I moved to look directly at my mates, ‘Loves?’ I say as I move to call out to them through the bond.

‘Yes love?’ asks Ares, his eyes still focused on Adrian as he moves to answer me.

‘I know this is asking a bit much as we have triplets to soon welcome into our lives but.. But after spending time with Adrian, do you think we could adopt him? And make him our son too?’ I move to say quickly needing to get this off my chest before I couldn’t.

‘Athena, I-’ starts Eros, his eyes now back on me as I continue to hold Adrian.

‘Please…. It’s just Artemis says he’s special and there's something about him that makes me want him to love and cherish him, call it a mothers intuition but I can’t sit idly by while he and the other 9 children just sit all alone with that Orphanage. They deserve parents, people who will always love them’ I explain, my eyes almost pleading as I continue to look at my mates.

Taking their silence as a no, I almost wish I hadn’t said anything only to feel Eros move to nuzzle my leg as does Ares. ‘We never said no love, and if Artemis is positive that Adrian is that special then of course we’ll adopt him, and then we’ll work on adopting the other 9 kids out to families as well’ murmurs Ares, a smile now making itself known.

‘Thank you love, this means so much more than either of you know’ I reply, happiness now radiating all along my body as I move to look at Adrian. “Adrian?” I call to him softly, his eyes now looking towards mine.

“Yes?” whispers Adrian, now nervous for a 5yr old.

“How would you feel if I asked you how you felt about coming to live with us?” I ask, curious to see his reactions only for his eyes to light right back up.

“Do you mean it?” asks Adrian almost happily.

“I do, me and my mates would love to adopt you, and make you officially one with our family” I tell him, a smile now on my lips as he moves to hug me.

“That would be awesome, but..what about the other children?” wonders Adrian now suddenly curious.

“Don’t worry little one, we’ll find each of them a loving home, as we have families in this pack who have yet to be blessed with a child and have tried many of times, so believe us when we say we’ll find them good homes” replies Ares as he moves to look at his ever growing family.

“That’s right, for after all it’s an Alpha’s job to protect and Luna to love and nurture” smiles Eros a smile and a blush now forming on my face as he says that to Adrian.

“And sing” chimes Adrian, causing me to full out blush as my mates move to look at me again.

“Sing?” asks both Ares and Eros not knowing I could sing as I hadn’t done it in front of them only the children.

“Uh ,ops” I giggle. “I guess I forgot to mention that bit.”

Giggling, Adrian moves to snuggle up close to me, my eyes now looking at all the carnage that laid before us. “And the Rogues?” I ask, wanting to make sure they got a fair hearing.

“They’ll be offered a choice, to be integrated into a pack or given the option to leave as long as they don’t return or otherwise they’ll die where they stand” answers Ares, as if this was his final answer.

“That’s fair” I murmur, my eyes taken in the scared and frightened looks of those still remaining, my eyes searching for that girl who had helped me escape. Please still be alive, I plead the need to know ever growing until I managed to find her once again.
