Our Luna, Our Mate Chapter 38

**Athena’s POV**

It’s about 8 in the morning when I finally begin to stir, my stomach growling to me that it was time to get up. Blinking, I move my hand to feel around the bed only to find it currently empty.

Huh, I wonder, moving to sit up, my eyes now looking to either side of the bed, my mates both gone. Eros’s spot a little warmer than Ares as though he had just gotten up whereas Ares’s spot had been colder like he had been gone for a while.

Guess it’s time I got up too, I muse. Stretching my muscles, surprised that I'm not too sore from last night's fun as I move to take a quick shower, not wanting to smell like sex before going down to breakfast. Smiling, I move to do just that. Shower.

\-30 Minutes Later-

After a quick shower do I move to exit the bathroom, my hair now in a messy bun as I move to head for the closet and to where my clothes were, deciding on comfortable clothing until I was able to figure out a more appropriate look for my new role as Luna.

Hmm, what to wear? I ponder, my eyes scanning my choices before deciding on a pair of black capri leggings and a pale blue top. Satisfied with the look I move to grab a bra and panty before proceeding to get dressed.

Once dressed, I quickly do a once over before moving towards the door deciding today would be a good day, for after yesterday's event I wanted to start fresh. Heading for the dining room, I can’t help but notice the room partially full as pack members come and go. Looks busy, I think now moving to grab some food from the breakfast bar, my eyes scanning for my mates or that of Kai and the others as I continued to grab what I wanted to eat.

Grabbing what I wanted, I move to turn only to come face to face with Lily, a frown on her face as our eyes meet. “Well… if it isn’t the wanna be Luna” sneers Lily, her eyes filled with disdain.

‘Let me at her’ growls Artemis, wanting a piece of her.

‘No, we'll get in trouble if we do,’ I tell her, trying to stay neutral, my attention still on Lily. “Good Morning Lily” I say, trying to be polite.

“Don’t morning me, because of you, Eros and Ares won’t talk to me anymore” growls Lily, her body now close to mine as we stood face to face, drawing unwanted attention from the other pack members who were still within the room.

“I’m pretty sure that was all you and not me” I say, trying to defuse the situation.

“How dare you” screeches Lily, her hand moving to slap me, her hand stinging as it landed against my cheek. “If it weren’t for the Moon Goddess and her stupid meddling, I would have been theirs.”

Blinking, I gently cup my cheek, the smack similar to that of Diana's, especially when she would get angry. Except Lily was not my cousin nor would she ever be. ‘Careful my child, something tells me she’s purely toying with us’ warns Artemis, not liking Lily at all.

“Don’t speak of the Moon Goddess like that. It’s not my fault she paired me with the twins and not you” I say, my eyes watching hers.

“Why you little-” glaring Lily moves to attack again, only to be stopped by a firm hand. “Back off or else” growls the voice of Eros, his eyes narrowing as he moves to protect me, Artemis excited to see her mate.

“Eros, Why?” whines Lily, trying her best to give him her sad puppy dog eyes. “Don’t… your eyes don’t work on me anymore, now I suggest you leave my mate alone or else” replies Eros, his eyes still locked on hers.

Looking between Eros and I, does she slowly narrow her own before growling. “You haven’t seen the last of me Luna” spat Lily, before walking off. Once gone do I finally relax. Eros moving to look at where she slapped me. “Are you okay?” asks Eros with concern.

Blushing, I nod. “Yes.. I’m fine” I whisper, a little embarrassed at being saved. “Are you sure? Ares won’t be pleased if you're hurt” answers Eros, not quite believing me.

Not wanting to anger him, do I move to smile, my hand taking his. “Yes, I’m sure, 100%” I say, determined not to let Lily ruin it for me. “Now come, let's eat.”

Sighing, he nods before moving to fix himself a plate before we move to sit in a secluded area, away from others as we eat. “So, where’s Ares?” I ask, curious as to where my other mate was.

“He’s talking to father” grunts Eros, clearly not thrilled about the reason. “Oh? About what?” I ask again, hoping he would say more. “About pack stuff. Which reminds me, we have a pack meeting tonight and it’s important” answers Eros, his eyes searching mine in hopes I wouldn't ask for more.

“Oh, Okay” I answer, a bit shocked. Knowing that my mates would tell me if it was serious.

Seeing him smile, we move to continue on with breakfast, Kai and Seth finally joining us. “Good morning Luna, Alpha” replies Kai, a smile on his face as he sits down. “Yes, Good morning” replies Seth, both of them in a very good mood this morning.

“Good morning Kai, Seth, where are the others?” I ask curiously, wondering where Lucas and the others were.

“There coming, there just grabbing food. They’ll be here shortly” is all Kai says just as the others make themselves present.

“Good morning” chime the others as they slowly approach us.

“Good morning” I reply with a smile.

“Morning” grumbles Eros, apparently not pleased with today's events. “Is everything okay?” asks Emma to her Alpha.

“No, but don’t worry, everything will be addressed later tonight at the pack's meeting” grumbles Eros, clearly not over whatever was bothering him.

“Hey, I know. How about after we finish with breakfast we all go for a run?” I offer, Eros seeming to perk up at that. “You mean it?” he asks. “Of course I do” I answer, glad his mood changed if only slightly.

“Sweet” laughs Sam, as we all quickly eat.

\-A few minutes later-

Once finished with breakfast, do we all head for the treeline. Each of us now standing behind a tree to strip, Eros following me while the others did the same, not wanting to rip our clothes.

When removing my clothes, I can’t help but feel eyes on me, causing me to see Eros. “Are you sure you're okay?” I ask, moving over to him slowly. Sighing, he moves to pull me into his arms. “No, I’m mad that Lily had the nerve to lay her hands on you” mumbles Eros, as he moves to cup my cheek, the same one Lily had slapped earlier that morning.

Smiling gently, I move to cup his hand with mine. “I’m fine though, I’ve been through worse” I whisper, hoping he wouldn’t hear the last part. Frowning, Eros knits his brows, having indeed heard me all thanks to his wolf hearing.

“Sorry, but I’ll explain later, just not now. Now how about that run?” I offer quickly, now moving to turn before he could question me, quick on removing the rest of my clothes before shifting into Artemis. Eros now watching us in aw. “Your beautiful my love, your coat, it sparkles like moon dust, as do your eyes” whispers Eros now moving to pet us, Artemis purring at the touch.

Nudging him slowly do we try to get his attention. Eros now quickly working on removing the rest of his clothes before shifting into Deimos. His wolf huge for an Alpha, his fur black except for one small patch of white on his snout, making me wonder what Ares looked like.

‘Ready love?’ asks Eros through our link. ‘Yes’ I answer, a small smile appearing as we move to join the others. My eyes moving towards Kai and the others who had also shifted into their wolves. Looking from left to right I slowly begin to notice whose who.

Starting from the right I notice Kai, Kai’s wolf an all out brown. His wolf Frost average in size compared to Eros. Next to him stood Lucas, his wolf also brown but with tiny hints of reds coating his fur, his wolf's name was Echo. Moving my focus again I move to see Seth, his wolf Lobo a lighter shade of brown compared to Kai’s who was a shade or two darker. Emma and her wolf Sage were a sandy blonde color and a tiny bit smaller than Seth. Smiling, I move over to Sam and his wolf Akira. Akira was a medium gray with hints of black and darker shades of gray which acted almost like a highlight. Emily being last, her wolf Raven a lighter shade of gray.

Smiling, we all move to stand before the trees. Eros looking to each of us before nodding. ‘Ready’ he asks through the pack link. ‘Ready’ we reply. Laughing, I quickly move to run into the woods first, eager to run as Eros chuckles threw the link knowing he was right behind me as we ran.
