Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 17: Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate

“Luna Stephanie, did you forget that this is a death challenge and no pack doctors are allowed?” he asks. 

“Alpha Cameron, she is our only child. You can’t expect us to just let her die,” she says venomously. 

“Watch your tone!” He yells and her face pales. 

“I just mean that you have no idea how it feels because you don’t have a child. She is the only child I was able to have, and I will not just let her die.” she turns from him, which is a blatant act of disrespect, and shouts for someone to get the pack doctor. Nobody moves because they don’t know what to do. 

“Go ahead and get the pack doctor,” says Alpha Cameron in a serious voice before he turns back to Luna Stephanie. She looks relieved and suspicious at the same time. 

Mark runs to get the pack doctor and when they return, Amelia is shaking and throwing up blood. Alpha Conrad had torn off his shirt and was applying pressure to the wound, but with all the blood she had already lost it would be touch and go if they attempted to save her. 

“Give me some space to work. Alpha, keep your hand there until I tell you to move it.” says the doctor. 

“Wait a minute,” says my mate, and they all looked towards him. 

“Alpha Cameron, there is no time. I must tend to her immediately if I am to save her life.” says the doctor. 

“Who said anything about saving her life?” he says, and they all look at him like he has gone mad. 

“You said to get the doctor. What other reason would you say that if it wasn’t to save her life?” asked Mark. 

My mate simply smirks and looks at me for a second before turning back to them. “To confirm the time of death.” is all he says before turning to me. “This fight is not over. Tiyanna, there are two choices now. One, you end her and win the fight, or two, she dies by bleeding out and both of you lose. If you choose the second one, remember what I said would happen to the loser because it will also apply to you, mate or not,” he says to me. 

I look from him to Amelia lying on the ground and try to decide which option to take. He isn’t known for being lenient, and he did kill all those women before me. My mind is racing, and I can’t make a decision with so little time. “Kill her and get it over with Tiyanna. You promised that we’d kill her before leaving here.” says my wolf.

I did promise her, and it would be better than whatever punishment he’d hand out I’m sure. 

“Okay.” is all that I said before slowly walking towards Amelia lying on the ground. Before I can reach her, her mother stands up and gets in front of me, slapping me hard across the face. 

“You ungrateful bitch! Don’t you go near my damn daughter! I wish you had died with your pathetic parents.” Before I could think, my wolf took over and punched our fist through her chest, grabbed her heart, and pulled it out of her chest, dropping the organ on the ground and everyone went quiet. 

“I told you about speaking ill of our parents, and now you can go to hell. Don’t worry though, your daughter will accompany you there soon so you won’t be alone.” I said as her body fell to the ground.  

Alpha Conrad whimpers and screams as his mate bond breaks, his wolf howling at the loss of his mate. He jumps up and runs at me, but I dodge him and I get in a defensive stance, but warriors grab him and hold him down. I never saw them move and was surprised at how silent they were in subduing him. He screamed and cursed at me, but I kept moving towards Amelia. When I reached her, I knelt on the ground near her and a part of me, a very small part of me, felt bad about what I was going to do. We used to be good friends and both of us were the only children of our parents, so we were like siblings, being that we were the Alpha and Beta kids. Things might have been very different had my parents lived, or maybe things still would have ended up this way. Only the goddess knows. I put her head in my lap and stroked her hair, though I have no idea why. Then I looked her in her eyes and I could see the tears and if I didn’t know any better, I’d say she was remembering when we were friends as well.
