Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 39: Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate

At first there is shock in the fact that this man that has been so nice to me since we met at my old pack is yelling and grabbing me, but after I manage to get ahold of myself, anger starts to bubble up as I remember how I was treated by men in that pack and I see red. Before I can say what I want to say and remove his hands from my arms, he is tossed a few feet away as a menacing growl escapes Cameron’s mouth.  

“Do not touch her!” he screams at Talon. Talon gets up and looks as though he is going to attack Cameron and my wolf surges forward and I stand in front of him. 

“Stand down Beta!” growls my wolf. I think it not only surprises me but them as well because they both stop growling at one another and I feel Cameron's hands rubbing my arms in a comforting manner. Talon starts to calm and when his breathing is back to normal, I can see that he is back in control.  

“We all need to calm down and talk about what happened. Now, Talon I have no idea what happened or why they attacked us. We were in the mall shopping and I went to the food court to get something to eat and drink when I felt an eerie presence around me. I immediately texted Caroline since she is the Beta female, I know that Sierra is an Alpha but she isn’t the Alpha so Caroline is in charge. She told me to stay where I was and they were coming. Once they showed up, we all scanned the area and she said for us to move together and head to the car. We reached the car and she told me that she had called Talon and I knew that meant that she’d told you so I didn’t worry as much anymore but I still had that feeling. I could sense and smell five rogues but they hadn’t appeared yet. They were in the woods behind the mall and I told Sierra to get in the car and call for help as I told Caroline what I knew. They showed up and we got into defense mode and they attacked. That’s all that happened. I don’t know why they attacked us.” I said to them. 

“It could have just been a random attack, but there were plenty of others around and they seemed to stalk them in the mall before following them out here. Lets get back to the pack for now.” said Cameron.  

Talon picked up Caroline and carried her unconscious body to the SUV they came in and I got into the car with Sierra. I had almost forgotten that she was even here because she was so quiet the entire time. I know that I should be more concerned about the rogues and more importantly Caroline, but my mind keeps wandering to the fact that I can still feel the tingles when we touch and the possessiveness, we still have towards each other. I rejected him so none of this should be happening. I decide to ask Luna Marla about it later tonight. 

We reach the pack house and Talon immediately takes Caroline to the pack hospital. I get out of the car and start to follow, but Cameron stops me and tells me to go with him to his office. Sierra looks at me with a sad smile and thanks me for keeping her safe before running to follow Talon to the hospital. I smile back at her and tell her that she doesn’t need to thank me before turning and following her brother to his office.  

Once inside, I stand behind one of the chairs in front of his desk and he paces around the room for a few seconds before running his hand down his face and going to sit in his chair behind the desk. I just watch him and not say anything as I guess that he is trying to get himself together for whatever he has to tell me. Why is he so worked up? It can’t be about me, can it? No, he must be upset that Caroline got her and that his sister was in danger. 

“Tiyanna, from now on there will be security going with you and any female that leaves this pack. I was going to restrict leaving the pack, but I can’t do that to them besides if someone was targeting you, then I don’t want them to know that we figured it out. They did good by attacking while my sister and the Talon’s mate were with you because they figure that we would assume they were after one of them. Is there anyone that you can think of that would be after you?” he asked me.
