Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 45: Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate
Once I made it to my office building, I quickly entered and went straight to the meeting room to make sure that everything was set up properly. Absolutely nothing could go wrong today. My manager would be the one presenting the presentation today and I would be in another room watching everything. I decided to not handle the meeting personally but instead oversee everything, While I'm setting up, I feel a presence behind me and quickly turn to see the last person I thought and wanted to see here.
“What the hell are you doing here Mark? How many ways can I tell you to fuck off before you actually get the hint?” I say to him and the bastard has the nerve to smirk at me.
“I don’t know why you’re acting like you don’t want me when we both know that you do. Besides, I saw how you looked when you saw your mate and that woman all hugged up together. Looks like he rejected you as soon as he brought you back to his pack. Well, since you killed my mate and yours rejected you for someone else, I figured we could have some fun together seeing as how we were originally mates.” He steps closer to me and runs a finger over the exposed skin on my hand and I slap his hand away.
“Have you lost your mind? I would rather swallow glass than be with you let alone have any kind of ‘fun’ that you’re speaking of and not that it is any of your business, but he didn’t reject me.” He doesn’t need to know any more details than that and in that moment, I realize I shouldn’t have even said that but it’s the truth.
“Well, whether he did or not it couldn’t be clearer from the way that she wolf was dangling off of him that it will happen soon enough. Look, why not just reject him and you and I can go back to Red Dawn and resume being mates.”
“Yeah, you really have lost your mind if you think I’ll be with you and go back to that awful pack. Besides, Cameron now owns that pack, so it is not the Red Dawn but the Black Diamond now. Why are you here? I know it isn't for this little show that you’re putting on for me. I don’t know if he trusts you being here, but I don’t and I definitely don’t trust you within my company’s walls. You know what, I don’t even care what you want.” I pick up the phone and press the button for security. “Yes, I need you to come and escort someone from the building and let everyone know that he is never to be allowed here again.” I hang up and fold my arms across my chest.
“You’ll regret not taking me up on my offer. It could potentially save your life.” He says before security comes in and walks him out of the room and the building.
“What the hell did he mean by that?” I say to myself.
An hour passes and everything is set up and people are showing up for the meeting. I watch from another room with a monitor as they all file in and my manager passes out the folders with the proposal information being presented. As I look at everyone that has been seated, I notice the chair for the man of the hour has yet to be filled and I start to panic. Did he decide to not attend the meeting? Has he backed out of even considering the deal?
Suddenly, the door opens and a huge man with a mask on enters and sits down in the chair flanked by two men almost as big as him but he is clearly the bigger of the men. His build is almost identical to Cameron’s. As I think this, I see the man’s head pop up and he sniffs the air and a smirk plays on his lips. I wonder what he smelled. Maybe he just found his mate. My mind wanders back to when Cameron and I met and how I wish he would just accept me. Just as quickly as I think those thoughts I shut them down. Now is not the time to be thinking about our messed-up mate situation. I need to stay focused just in case my manager gets in trouble while presenting the information, though he is used to these presentations so things should go great. I hope.
Two hours later, the meeting ends and everyone is shaking hands. The presentation went well, and I immediately think of giving my manager a raise as he did an awesome job presenting to the most intimidating man I’ve ever seen in my life, well, besides Cameron of course. Everyone starts to leave the room but for some reason, he stays behind and says something to my manager that’s too low for the audio on my camera’s to pick up and then I see my manager scurries from the room. What the hell did he say to my manager?
