Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 21: Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate
“You may want to calm down and remember who you are talking to, Tiyanna. I’ve been tolerant so far, but don’t mistake that for weakness because mate or not, I’ll have no problem ending your pathetic life.” He says to me with a look that could kill. A tremble goes through my body but he must have mistaken it for fear, because a smirk came across his face.
“You know what, stop the fucking car!” I scream and the driver slams on the breaks. Everyone in the car except for me and Cameron hold onto something as the vehicle comes to an abrupt stop.
“What the hell is wrong with you!?” shouts Cameron.
“This isn’t going to work. I’ve already been rejected by one mate and refuse to be threatened or treated like crap by my second one. I have no idea what the hell is wrong with the Goddess but I’ll be damned if I take this treatment again. I’m out of here. Good luck with your pack and whatever other business you have but I want nothing to do with you.” I get out of the vehicle and go to the trunk to pull my suitcase out and start walking down the road.
“Nobody is to go after her. She’ll come back when she is done with her little tantrum. Talon, this is exactly why I don’t want or need a mate. Who has time for all this drama when I have a pack to run?” He must have forgotten that I am a double Alpha like him and could hear everything he said, or maybe he knew and he said it to hurt me. I turned around leaving my suitcase to go back and do what I should have done in the first place. Once I’m back at the car, i see his smirk return right before I watch it fall which brings me satisfaction.
“I forgot something Alpha.” I say to him.
“And what would that be? Never mind, just get in so we can get home before nightfall.” He says and I see someone going to get my bag, but I raise my hand to stop them.
“Leave my bag please. I’m not going with you.” The guy nods and walks away.
“Will you just get in and cut all this foolishness out. I need to get back to my pack and business, and you having a tantrum like a child right now is not helping. Tiyanna, look, we can talk about whatever is bothering you later at home, but for now we need to go. These woods are no man’s land meaning there are rogues here and the last thing I need is to have a fight happen out on this road.” He says in a much calmer voice.
Standing there I think about what he said about the rogues, and as much as I want to end this now, I cannot let these men get into a fight because of me. They are the best at fighting and could easily kill any rogues that are stupid enough to attack them, but I’m not as skilled and if jumped I don’t know how good I would fair, and it wouldn’t be fair to have them have to try and save me if anything happened. Cameron definitely would kill me if anything happened to his men because of me. I sigh and look at him before turning to look at Talon.
“Fine. I’ll go with you tonight, but tomorrow you’re taking me to my lawyer and after that you can return without me. Once I’ve handled my business with my lawyer I’ll be able to take care of myself and won’t be a burden on anyone. I’m already a rogue so I’ll be fine, plus I can mask my scent so I’ll appear as a human to anyone I come in contact with so that won’t be a problem.” Talon nods at me and I get back into the vehicle but I make sure to stay as far away from Cameron as possible in the vehicle.
“This is going to be a long night.” I hear Talon mumble under his breath but I say nothing and neither does my mate.
“Long isn’t even the word for it.” I say in a whisper that I know Talon can’t hear and I think even my mate until I feel him stiffen next to me.
After another hour and a half of driving, we pull up to a large gate in the middle of the woods. The gate immediately opened as we got closer and we all passed through without having to show identification. Once through, we drove for another ten minutes until we reached a huge mansion and I assume that this is the packhouse. We pull to a stop and everyone starts to get out, so I go to open the door but Cameron grabs my hand and signals for everyone to get out while we stay inside. The tingles run up my arm just from his touch, but I don’t let them mess with my senses. I heard him say that he doesn’t want a mate so no need to treat him as such, so I quickly pull my hand away and a look of hurt comes across his face for a second but quickly leaves and he’s back to his normal deadly looking self.
“Look, I’m fine with you leaving tomorrow and whatever else it is you want to do. Besides, I don’t have time for any of this mate stuff or the drama that comes with it, but while you’re here you will obey my rules. There will be no fraternizing with any of my pack members. You’re leaving so no need to get them used to your presence even if it is only for one night. You will not ask any questions about my pack. You will not tell anyone that you are my mate. If asked just tell them you’re a visitor, though nobody should ask since they know better than to question anything I do. Dinner should be about to start and you can either eat in your room or go to the dining hall. I’ll be in my office if you need anything ask Talon though I’m sure between my mother, sister, and his mate you should have everything you need in your room. For now, though your room is next to mine in the Luna suit. I had another room arranged when I thought you were staying but since you’re leaving it’ll do for one night. Final rule, do not start any fights whether verbal or physical with anyone here.” He looks at me waiting for my response and as much as I’d love to launch into an argument with him, I tell myself that it isn’t worth it and decide to agree to his rules. I mean it is only for one night and what could happen in one night.
