Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 19: Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate
“Alpha?” says one of the omegas as she knocks on my office door.
“Enter,” I say to her and she slowly opens the door. “What is it?” I asked her with a bit of annoyance.
“The beta said that I am to bring you dinner. Is that okay with you?” She asks with fear in her voice. As annoyed as I am, I cannot take it out on her since my Beta sent her here.
“That is fine. Put the tray on the coffee table and leave please.” I said to her, not having the energy for anything else.
“Yes, Alpha.” She puts the tray down and heads to the door, but stops before closing it and I look up to see her looking at a picture of my family on the wall with tears in her eyes. This surprised me because I know that my mate and daughter didn’t treat the staff that well. Why did this girl have tears in her eyes?
“Did you need to tell me anything else?” I asked her to get her attention and hopefully send her on her way.
“Oh, no. I’m so sorry, Alpha. I’ll be going now.” She quickly walked out of the room and closed the door behind her. That was weird, but I did not dwell on it for long. I have revenge to plan.
Ignoring the dinner that was brought to me, I got busy working on how to go about getting rid of Tiyanna and Cameron. The plan is to get her alone and get rid of her. Kidnapping her would need too many resources and extra people, which means that there is a chance of them being captured and tortured into telling who is behind this or worse, leading them to me. Right before Cameron is brought down, I’ll let it be known how his precious mate died.
I worked out how the job would go down and then made some phone calls to set up the hit. After I’m done, I start to think about all the ways I’m going to make her scream right before she is killed. She’ll die feeling all the pain my mate and daughter felt and, even more, then right before her last breath, she’ll be told who is behind her death and that her mate will soon be following her into the afterlife.
Once I’m done with some other paperwork, I open the lid of the food and decide to just throw it away. I’m not in the mood to eat and feel like I should just go to bed. I’ll deal with the funeral and anything else tomorrow. I’m probably not going to be able to sleep, since every time I close my eyes, I see the faces of my family covered in blood. Nothing will bring my family back, but taking away his family will bring me some satisfaction. He has a sister and a mother too and I’m thinking of doing something about them as well. I lost my entire family and I will not leave anyone to mourn him. The rebellion will take care of his pack, so I’m not worried about his pack members.
After a long shower, I get dressed in pajamas and climb into bed. Grabbing the remote, I turn on the television and tune into the news channel and put it on mute. Stephanie always used to ask me why I would turn it on and then not listen to it, and I would always tell her that I just needed it on but didn’t really have to listen to the program in order to fall asleep.
The next morning I am woken up my knocks at my door. I don’t know who that is at this time of morning but they need to go away. “Go away!” I yell at whoever is at the door before I feel a push in my mind. Someone is trying to mind-link me and this is getting annoying. I open the link to hear my Beta telling me that there have been attacks by rogues on the northern border. Quickly, I sit up and grab a pair of shorts before running downstairs to find him standing at the front door of the packhouse. He looked like he was on his way out.
“How did they get that far onto our land?” I ask him.
“We don’t know. We doubled patrols after everyone left just in case someone tried to take advantage of our weakness. There were a lot of Alphas here and we are not allied to any of them. It would be easy for them to try to come and take our land after what happened. They know that you no longer have an heir to take over.” he says casually.
“Lets get to the border. Maybe they caught one of them or know what is going on. I need answers now.” I said as we took off running into the forest heading for the northern border.
Once we got there, I saw two patrolmen with a man with shaggy hair standing between them in cuffs. Surprisingly, he isn’t struggling or trying to get free in any way. In fact, he looks bored and annoyed. Well, I’ll change his demeanor really soon.
“Who are you and what are you doing on my land?” I said to him. He turns his gaze on me and looks me up and down before looking away from me and yawning.
“Are you going to let me go now or do we need to call my boss?” He says to me. How dare he talk to me as if he is the one in charge?
“Why would I let you go when you are trespassing on my territory?” I asked. He chuckles and then looks at me again before turning serious again.
“Because if I don’t come back, you’ll have more problems than just Alpha Cameron. We were sent here to deliver a message, but your people attacked us before asking questions. Our boss will not like this and you more than likely will have to pay extra for the loss of men. Being that I’m the only one left, I suggest you hear my message and give me your answer to take back to him or else you’ll be joining that family of yours in death.” he says matter-of-factly. Who could his boss be? I ask myself.
