Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 65: Epilogue: Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate
Ten years went by, and our pack continued to thrive. Maximus grew into a strong leader, following in our footsteps. Cameron and I watched with pride as he found his own mate, Akira, and started a family.
Our new baby, Makayla, was getting bigger every day. She’s very inquisitive and smart. We learned early on that she was strong even as a baby and very observant. Now, as a nine-year-old, she is even more powerful but has the sweetest nature. Her tenth birthday is in a couple of months. We’ll be throwing her a party, but like her mother, we learned that dress shopping or any shopping for that matter is not one of her favorite pass times. She’s more of a tomboy, and would rather be training than having tea parties, shopping, or making up her face. I tease Cameron all the time asking him how did he still manage to get two boys out of me even though one clearly looks like a girl. As a baby I was able to dress her up in little cute outfits, but once she turned six, all of that went out of the window and I’ve learned to live with that fact.
Maximus and Akira are doing well leading the pack and we have no doubt that their son or daughter will carry on the legacy when they come of age. Well, they have to first get a bun in that oven, but I’m sure it will happen for them when they are ready. They’re having fun just being together and I love that for them. I’m glad they had a better start to their union than their father and me. He was harboring guilt over losing his father and first mate, and I was filled with rage and vengeance over my parents being murdered by my Alpha and of my own first mate rejecting me for my ex best friend. Things turned out wonderful eventually, but it took us a while to get to that place. He didn’t want a mate due to how his heart broke the first time, so losing me would kill him, and I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to have a mate no matter how much I wanted him to want me.
“Mommy!” I hear my daughter yelling down the hall as I hear her footsteps pounding heading for my room.
“Makayla why must you yell darling?” I ask her as I roll my eyes.
“Oh, mommy you’re so funny.” she simply says as she launches herself into my arms and I catch her reflexively. I really wish she wouldn’t do this. The last time she did, I was in the kitchen and broke a ton of plates I was carrying so that I would catch her.
“No, Makayla, really why must you yell? We are double Alphas which means that we don’t have to talk so loudly to be heard. Honey you’re going to burst my eardrums one of these days.” I say to her rubbing my temples.
“I’m sorry mommy.” she says with a little frown.
“It’s okay baby. Now, what is it that you want my angel.” I say to her and her face lights up.
“I was coming to tell you that daddy and brother are back, and I want to know if we can have all their favorites for dinner as a surprise?” she says with the biggest smile on her face.
This little girl loves her dad and brother more than anything and if she can get away with doing something to make them happy then she will. For once, I agree with her that we should do something special for them, so I inform the cook of the menu change for dinner and then we both head downstairs to meet them. Once we get there, we find Akira already wrapped up in Maximus’ arms and I smile at the two of them together.
My daughter on the other hand, has already launched herself into her father’s arms and he is raining kisses down on her face making her giggle. The smile on my face widens as I stand there looking at my wonderful family. The thought that this almost didn’t become a reality due to how Cameron and I started out. We’re both stubborn and being Alphas only made that trait even worse, but thankfully we stuck it out and made it work. I laugh to myself whenever I think about the fact that it took our wolves forcing us to mark and accept each other that made this all possible.
“Yes, because you two are both very stubborn and childish humans.” huffs my wolf and I just roll my eyes at her.
“Yes, but it all worked out so what are you grumbling about Silver?” I asked her.
“No thanks to the two of you. Why are you humans so silly or is it just the two of you?” she asked.
