“And you think that you’re a better choice?” he laughs and it kind of hurts but I don’t show it.

“You’re an asshole and no I don’t think I’d make a better Luna. I know that I would because leading is in my blood, but I’d never want to be the Luna to an egotistical bastard like you. I’d rather stay a rogue.”

“And just how will you survive?” he smirks. “I hope you don’t think that I am going to take care of you because you’re my mate.” I smile as he smirks at me.

“I don’t need you for anything Cameron. As for us being mates, that is something I intend on changing as soon as possible. Now, can you point me to the border so that I can get off of your lands and away from you and your whore!” I scream at him.

“Why did you jump in the middle of the fight between me and my Gamma?” he asks as though I said nothing to him.

“Because you would have killed him and he did nothing wrong. You need to get that beast of yours under control. I don’t belong to you or him so stop with the possessive Alpha bull crap.” I say matter-of-factly.

“Talon will take you where you need to go in the morning. You’ll never make it to the border on foot and it is already late.” He turns to walk away and stops when he doesn’t hear me following him.

“Tiyanna, do not make me carry you back to the pack house.” he says with a low growl.

“Fine, but I’m leaving first thing in the morning and I’m not going back to that room. Put me somewhere else because if I run into her again, all bets are off and I mean it Cameron.”

We walk back to the pack house in silence which I am happy about because I honestly have nothing to say to him. He’s my mate and yet we really have nothing in common that I can see. Sure, we’re both stubborn and aggravate each other but other than that I don’t see why we were paired as mates. Well, tomorrow I’ll be out of here just as soon as I break our bond and have no more ties to him. My wolf doesn’t like the idea, and I hate doing this to her, but I can’t be with him. Maybe if he changes there could be something between us, but I don’t see him changing unless he tackles the reason, he is so scared to have a mate. I know that some Alphas believe having a mate makes you weak, because your enemies will know that if they go after your mate, you’ll do anything to get him or her back.

Being lost in my thoughts, I don’t realize when we’ve reached the pack house until clothes are being thrown at me and I catch them on reflex. When I look in the direction they come from, I see that they are from Trinity and I toss them back at her. She looks at me surprised at first before her face becomes angry.

“How dare you?” she screams.

“How dare you?” I say back.

“Cameron, I was being nice and you see what she did? Do something!” She tells him as she is now standing next to him and rubbing his arm.

“Tiyanna, behave yourself!” he yells.

“Why don’t you reserve all that yelling and commanding for someone that is actually beneath you, Cameron. If you had bothered to sniff the air, then you’d know why I threw them back at her. For one, her scent is on them and that messes with my nose and two there’s another scent on them from an unknown male. I’m sorry but I don’t wear clothes with cum stains or juice on them.” I say before walking into the pack house.

Once inside, I see my bag in the foyer and Caroline is coming down the stairs. She hands me a shirt that is long enough to cover all the way to my knees. I thank her for the clothes and ask her to point me in the direction of an empty guest room for the night. She turns and I follow her going up the stairs when I sense him coming in with his whore right beside him. No doubt she told him that I was lying or some other story but I don’t have time for this foolishness. I ignore them and continue going up the stairs behind Caroline. She lets me into a room and I thank her again before going into the bathroom for a shower.

The rest of the night I tossed and turned in the bed. Sleep was evading me and I didn’t know why I was so restless. My body was hot, so I kicked off the covers and laid there hoping to get cool, but that didn’t work. I was starting to wish that I had stayed in the Luna room because then I could open the balcony doors for some air. When the heat became unbearable, I went into the bathroom and tried taking a cold shower and that helped until I got out.
