**Florence**

The harsh slamming of the door made me flutter my eyes open, and jerked up, knocking my head on the roof of the car.

“Dang it” I hissed, rubbing my head, noticing the black coat covering my thigh. I was still dressed in the flimsy clothes I had last night.

The coat smelt familiar. But I had no time to pinpoint the scent with my head still fuzzy. I felt like my head was hammered. With a groan, I looked around. It was only then I realized that I was inside an SUV. I looked outside the window and the sight of an airfield where a jet airplane was located made me gulp.

My heart thumped loudly as I tried to remember how on earth I ended up in a car.

“I am in an auction and…..” I mumbled to myself, remembering the bar with me standing on the stage, then that green eyed-man appeared. "Goddammit,"

It felt like someone threw a bucket of cold water at me when I finally remembered everything last night. From Nicholas Gavner Acworth—the Alpha King being my mate, him buying me, the rejection, and the pain. It all came back, awakening the thorns in my heart at the sorrow caused by rejection.

The door to my left suddenly flung open, making me jolt back from my position only to reveal my precious mate. His green eyes like that of a forest peered down at mine. I can't deny how he was heart-stoppingly gorgeous. I despise my current way of thinking.

Really, mate bonds are awful.

I immediately shot him a glare, scooting back to the right while I desperately tried to push the car door. He tried to grab my wrist but I dodged him and was about to leap onto the driver’s seat noticing that the car door was slightly ajar. My legs were still unsteady, preventing me from moving fast enough. Before I could reach the driver’s seat, Nicholas had his hand on my legs, pulling me down.

“AH!” I cried out when my head hit the dashboard.

“Nice try” Nicholas mocked and reached for my upper arm.

Feeling lightheaded at the force, I was unable to fight him when he forcefully pulled me up. His grip was like steel wrapped on my arm but I only grimaced as my head still aching so much. Black spots once again dance in my vision while I feel him yanking me outside. I bit my lower lip so hard that I tasted a metallic substance of my blood on it to stop myself from fainting.

Damn.

"Don't touch me" I grumbled weakly.

I lightly shook my head in an attempt to ease the stabbing pain in my head and blinked to adjust my vision. He pulled me towards the jet plane that was a couple of meters away from us.

Fortunately, my wolf’s genes made the ache in my head lessen quickly. Another perk of a hybrid with Lycan blood was the fact that it can also heal faster than the average werewolf but not as fast as native Lycans. A normal werewolf shifter could only heal when they shift into their wolf form but Lycans can do that even in human forms. That is how powerful they are.

It was then I noticed the five men in all dark casual outfits standing in the airstairs. They were all Lycans. That's what I easily notice with the way the hair on my skin crawls at the amount of strength around me. While a flight attendant was waiting for us at the door of the aircraft. She was the only human there.

"Where the fck you're taking me?" I gritted, attempting to pull away my arm from Nicholas yet it just made me whimper at how tight he was holding me.

Nicholas shakes his head as if to mock me that I am dumb. Oh, how I just want to punch his beautiful face!

"To my pack" he casually said and harshly tugged at me again so that I almost stumbled forward, "Where did you think I would bring you?"

"In a river where you will dump me? Or maybe on the bridge to push me? But not in your pack!" I fired back.

Nicholas frowned at me but continued to haul me towards the plane, "You will be stuck with me for long before you die"

The fight-and-flight drive on me was kicking in at the sight of the plane. I will be more doomed if I was pushed inside that freaking plane!

"Let me go," I began, digging my heels into the concrete surface. I didn't care how my thin clothes were being blown away and exposing all my bare skin to the view.

But the height of my heels just made me almost trip and I got a sprained ankle.

Oh for Pete's sake!

"LET ME GO! I DON'T WANT TO GO WITH YOU!" I yelled and glanced around wildly.

Where the hell are the humans in this place?!

"YOU DON'T WANT ME AS YOUR—" Before I could say that particular word, Nicholas stopped and faced me. All of a sudden, I felt a cold metal on the side of my stomach.

I glanced down and saw a dagger. Its grip has intricate patterns. How did he pull that out in a second? The light brush of the dagger caused a burning sensation on my skin. Silver. The dagger was made of pure silver.

Nicholas leaned closer and hissed low, "I dare you to finish it" pressing his dagger even more on my skin.

With nothing but vexation in my eyes, I met his gaze. "Ah, you don't want them to know?"

He smirked, "Trust me I am saving you from being hurt. They will not believe that someone like you was my mate"

"And that was coming from you" I shot back.

Maybe my eyes were deceiving me because I saw a glint of guilt in his emerald eyes that were quickly replaced again by coldness. Apathetic. I felt the hand on his arm loosen a little bit as he extended his hand with a dagger to the man he was with last night.

The man glanced at me before taking the dagger and stepping aside.

"Don't try to flirt now with my men," he warned.

"Just so you know, flirting was the last thing on my mind right now" I snapped.

Nicholas ignored me. Again. I clenched my hands to calm my pounding heart as I was getting closer to the plane.

Think. Think Florence.

If I choose to fight, then I will only sustain injuries. I am against Nicholas and the Lycans. It will just end me up being beaten into a pulp. It was the same as flight because I couldn't outrun these men.

Taking a slow breath a few times, I made up my mind. It was impossible for me to escape.

For now.

With a sigh, I gave up resisting and walked behind my so-called mate who cast a raised brow my way.

"Don't look at me like you just realize I have brains. I just know how to assess my situation "I spat annoyingly.

"Everyone will know not to fight with me or my men. That's no genius idea" Nicholas replied smugly.

"Bastard" I mumbled, gritting my teeth.*
