After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms Chapter 103

5 min 9.9K views

Since the Aurora Media Group incident, the entire investment department had been gripped by a fear like the calm before a storm.

Those involved in the project were restless, terrified of being dismissed. Even those not involved couldn't relax, afraid they might become collateral damage.

So the twelve team leaders had arranged to meet with Teresa together, hoping to receive some reassurance.

But no one expected to witness the scene before them—Teresa in a rage, objects scattered across the floor.

They exchanged glances, until the leader of Team One finally ventured, "Ms. Hughes, what's wrong?"

Teresa didn't answer. Acting as if nothing had happened, she smoothed her hair, sat back down with an air of arrogance, and asked, "What do you want?"

"Naturally, it's about the Aurora Media Group project."

Among the twelve team leaders, Neil was the most anxious. He hurriedly asked, "Ms. Hughes, what exactly is Mr. Tudor's position on this matter? How will he deal with me? Can you give me any information?"

"What information could I have?" Teresa said irritably.

Neil grew more desperate. "How could you not know what's happening behind the scenes? Given your relationship with Mr. Tudor, he must have told you something, right?"

Little did he know, this was precisely the source of Teresa's anger.

Everyone knew she was the fourth daughter of the Tudor family, and that everyone in the family spoiled her terribly.

Only Julian seemed to keep her at a distance, as if there was always a barrier between them that couldn't be broken through. She could never get close to him, let alone know what was in his mind.

Neil grew even more anxious and was about to speak again when the Team Two leader patted his hand, signaling him to be patient.

Then, the Team Two leader said, "Ms. Hughes, it's been like eight hours since this happened, and Mr. Tudor hasn't made any statement about it? Such a major issue—he can't possibly ignore it. Yet he hasn't shown his face at the company. What exactly is he doing?"

What could Julian be doing? He must be with that bitch Louisa. Surely Louisa was clinging to him, not letting him leave. Teresa thought furiously.

But she couldn't show it in front of her subordinates.

She coldly surveyed the twelve people before her. "Mr. Tudor will handle this as he sees fit. What can you achieve by coming to me? Just leave and wait for notification."

With those words, she pushed the group to the edge. Among the twelve team leaders, only the Team Ten leader was a woman. The other eleven were all seasoned professionals.

They had never truly respected Teresa, only showing her deference because she was the fourth daughter of the Tudor family. If it came down to a real confrontation, she couldn't control them.

So they all dropped their courtesy. The Team Three leader said bluntly, "Ms. Hughes, you really should try to help Neil in this situation. He's worked diligently for the company for so many years. Even if he hasn't achieved great merit, he's put in the effort. Mr. Tudor can't dismiss him over just one incident, can he?

"Besides, as the Investment Department Director, if Mr. Tudor decides to take strict action, you won't escape responsibility either."

These words were harsh, essentially forcing Teresa's hand.

Unexpectedly, Teresa didn't yield to this pressure. She was the fourth daughter of the Tudor family. No matter how much Julian protected Louisa, could he really take action against her over this?

She wasn't afraid of Julian's punishment and coldly replied to the Team Three leader, "Since this is Mr. Robinson's problem, why are you so concerned?"

With that, she shut him down.

But the Team Four leader began, "That's not quite right. All twelve of us work in the Investment Department, and we've always worked together harmoniously. Now that this has happened, Ms. Hughes, as our direct superior, shouldn't you be finding a solution for us?"

Then, not giving Teresa a chance to respond, everyone started speaking up.

Team Five leader followed, "I heard Mr. Tudor was furious at Aurora Media Group, all because of a woman—yes, that new hire in Team Three called Louisa Forbes. I heard this Louisa was specially recruited by Mr. Tudor."

Neil nodded along. "Exactly. You haven't seen her—that Louisa looks like trouble. I suspect our Mr. Tudor has feelings for her. For her sake, he's disregarding the dignity of us long-term employees."

Team Six leader chimed in, "Things have reached this point. If Ms. Hughes won't help us, we'll have to find our own solution."

Team Eight leader yelled, "Right! If necessary, we'll collectively appeal to the Chairman to intervene for justice!"

Everyone else joined in, putting immense pressure on Teresa.

Was there any real "love" or "brotherhood" among them? No. These seasoned professionals in the Investment Department all had their own secrets. Meanwhile, Julian, the young President of the Tudor Group, was impossible to read.

Everyone feared this incident might affect them personally, so they united because protecting Neil meant protecting themselves.

Teresa was being driven to the edge by their relentless pressure. She was already upset about Louisa's existence, and now, pushed to this point, she forcefully smashed her water glass on the floor.

With the sound of shattering glass, she shouted in rage, "All of you, shut up!"

Meanwhile, Louisa was unaware of the aftermath her collapse had caused. While chaos reigned outside, she slept peacefully in Julian's home. In the middle of the night, her fever broke, and she fell into a comfortable sleep.

The next morning, she was awakened by hunger. Opening her eyes, the first thing she saw was a white ceiling and an unfamiliar chandelier.

This wasn't her home.

Last night's events flashed through her mind, but after confronting Judith, everything was a blur. She only remembered Julian saying he'd take her to the hospital.

But this didn't seem like a hospital either.

She looked around the unfamiliar room—cool-toned decor, clearly a man's room. Could this be Julian's home?

Just then, she heard sounds from outside—not loud, like something being placed on a cutting board, and the beep of an appliance.

Instinctively, she got out of bed and opened the door a crack to peek outside.
