"With all that money spent, how could I not like it?"

She planned to sell it at the second-hand market tomorrow and make a decent amount.

She casually tossed it into her handbag.

George watched her, noting the lack of emotion on her face, his handsome brows furrowing deeply.

Why couldn't she be like Vivian, happily accepting gifts?

When did she become so hard to read?

His voice dropped, sounding inexplicably heavy, "I put a lot of thought into picking out that gift for you. If you don't like it, fine, but can you just be straightforward with me? I've been really busy lately and don't have time to keep guessing what you're thinking."

Louisa suddenly laughed at his impatient tone.

George felt mocked, his brows knitting together as he looked at her. "Can you speak properly?"

Louisa hadn't intended to speak or argue with him.

But his relentless attitude...

Her laughter grew brighter, though her eyes turned cold, "What do you want me to say? Are you expecting me to be grateful for your little assistant's leftovers?"

George was at a loss for words.

That afternoon, Jared had handed him the gift, and Vivian happened to see it.

She loved bracelets and collecting limited edition ones. Seeing the set, she insisted on having the bracelet.

He had no choice but to give it to her, not expecting Louisa would know it.

He instinctively explained, "Yes, Vivian took the bracelet. I've explained this to you before. Our company, the Capulet Group, collaborates with the Price Group. Vivian liked the bracelet, and I couldn't be stingy over one bracelet. You could just let her..."

He trailed off.

The car had already pulled into the villa's driveway.

Louisa unbuckled her seatbelt and coldly interrupted him, "You bought the gift. You can give it to whoever you want. I don't care. Just don't give me something someone else rejected."

With that, she got out of the car. She remained eerily calm throughout.

George didn't want things to end like this and wanted to talk more, but when he parked and entered the living room, he saw her already upstairs in her room.

He had no choice but to let it go.

Frustrated, he punched the coffee table.

The next day, Louisa went to work as usual.

They ran into each other as she was leaving.

She glanced at him calmly, changed her shoes, acting as if nothing had happened.

George thought she had cooled down and suddenly said, "Let's go together?"

For the past seven years, no matter how sweet they were at home, they always went to work separately.

Today, he didn't know what came over him, but he blurted it out.

Yet he regretted it instantly.

Louisa noticed but pretended not to, smirking, "Not afraid of being seen?"

George's expression stiffened, and he said nothing.

Louisa didn't push further, grabbed her car keys and bag, and headed out.

George instinctively grabbed her wrist, "Give me a little more time, three months at most. Once our project with the Price Group stabilizes, I'll make our relationship public."

"Do as you please."

In 23 days, they could file for divorce and be strangers.

After that, whatever he did was his business, not hers.

George frowned at her indifferent tone but said nothing.

Louisa noticed he was still holding her wrist and reminded him, "We're going to be late."

He finally let go.

Two people, two cars, each going their own way.

For the next few days, Louisa stayed in the marketing department, not once visiting his office.

After a week, under her leadership, the marketing department was back to normal operations.

Louisa knew it was time to leave.

In the afternoon, she ordered coffee and snacks for everyone in the department.

They worked and chatted while enjoying the afternoon tea.

Louisa occasionally joined the conversation, encouraging them to focus on their work. They were capable individuals, and no one could take their achievements away.

She also advised them to avoid trouble with Vivian.

Vivian was a wealthy heiress with powerful backing. They should avoid direct confrontation and not let her push responsibilities onto them.

The marketing team, being sharp, immediately understood.

Someone asked, "Ms. Forbes, are you leaving?"

Louisa smiled, "I've already resigned."

Everyone fell silent, staring at their coffee and snacks, which suddenly seemed less appetizing.

A young woman hesitantly approached her, sounding like she was about to cry, "Ms. Forbes, I don't want you to leave..."

Louisa patiently comforted them, calming their emotions.

It was almost six o'clock when Louisa finally packed her things and left the marketing department.

Starting tomorrow, she wouldn't be coming back.

Though she had taken Hazel's money to be here, she had built the marketing department from scratch and hoped it would thrive after she left.

She decided to go upstairs and talk to George, at least to ensure the marketing department was settled.

However, as soon as she reached the executive floor, Jared blocked her path.

He looked tense. "Mrs. Capulet, Mr. Capulet is in a meeting right now. It's not convenient. Could you come back later?"

Seeing his expression, Louisa knew what was going on.

Her eyes turned cold, and she didn't bother looking at the dirty scene, turning to leave.

Just then, she heard moaning from the office, clearly belonging to Vivian.

Then her giggles came, "George, stop it. I have something to tell you. You wouldn't believe how awful Louisa is. I heard she's taken over the marketing department and caused a stir. Many people say they want to leave with her.

"I think they're all ungrateful. George, you should just fire them all."
