Facing his anger, Louisa stayed calm and collected.

At first, she thought about telling him she had already left the Capulet Group and that her job was none of his business. But then she remembered Julian hadn't asked her to start right away.

She just needed to wait 25 more days, finalize the divorce, and then she and George would be completely done. No need to explain anything to him.

So, she nodded. "I know exactly what I'm doing."

"Louisa!" He gritted his teeth, staring at her intensely, his voice cold and sharp. "What are you trying to pull? Have you forgotten you're part of the Capulet Group?"

"I only know that I've resigned from the Capulet Group."

"You—" George struggled to contain his anger, glaring at her, "You're doing this just to piss me off, aren't you?"

Louisa almost laughed. Where did George get this confidence from?

After seven years of marriage and working together, he still didn't know she never mixed personal feelings with work.

She was done arguing with him. "Think whatever you want."

She stood up, intending to head upstairs.

But George wasn't about to let it go. Without thinking, he grabbed her wrist, "Tell me, what's going on between you and Julian?"

As soon as he said it, an image flashed in his mind of the day at the golf club, where he saw a figure standing with Julian that looked just like her from behind. His eyes flared with anger, "You've been with him all along, haven't you?"

Louisa spun around, glaring at him. "George, don't assume everyone is as vile as you. There's nothing between Mr. Tudor and me, and he's not like you!"

Her words infuriated him. He raised his hand as if to slap her.

Louisa stared him down, eyes red but unflinching, unafraid.

Seeing her like this only fueled George's anger. He lowered his hand, grabbed the back of her head, and kissed her fiercely.

Louisa hadn't expected this move. She reacted by struggling desperately to push him away. But the more she resisted, the more aggressive he became, as if he wanted to crush her and consume her whole.

Louisa had never been treated like this before. Enraged, she bit down on his lip, hard and without mercy.

The metallic taste of blood spread between them.

George finally let her go, his eyes also red, glaring at her. "So that's why you suddenly asked for a divorce. You've been with Julian all along, haven't you? Let me tell you, Louisa, no way! Even if you've slept with him, you won't get a divorce! I won't agree!"

He cheated and now he was trying to blame her?

Louisa, furious, slapped him hard. "George, you bastard!"

She turned and went upstairs.

George, equally enraged, slammed the door as he left.

Upstairs, Louisa stood in the bathroom, brushing her teeth over and over. The thought of George's mouth, which had kissed Vivian, touching hers made her skin crawl. She felt so disgusted that she brushed until her gums bled before finally stopping.

Lying on the bed, staring at the white ceiling, she suddenly realized that women who went crazy in marriage didn't just snap. They were driven to madness, step by step, by the marriage itself.

She didn't want to end up like that. She didn't want to unknowingly become someone she despised.

She couldn't wait the last 25 days.

She picked up her phone and messaged Sadie in their group chat, [Is there a way to get a divorce as quickly as possible?]

Sadie replied instantly, [What happened?]

Before Louisa could respond, the ever-impatient Flora called the group.

As soon as the call connected, Sadie and Flora asked simultaneously, "Louisa, what happened? Did George hit you?"

Louisa recounted what had just happened.

Flora was immediately furious, "What kind of jerk is this George? He cheats and calls it business, but won't let you do anything? Isn't this blatant sexism? Sadie, can we file a case for gender discrimination?"

Sadie ignored Flora's rant, calmly analyzing, "If you don't want to wait for the cooling-off period, the only option is to file for divorce. But given George's current attitude, he won't agree, and the court might not see the marriage as irreparably broken, so they won't support you. So that option won't work."

Louisa sighed, "So I have no choice but to wait?"

Sadie, though reluctant, confirmed, "Yeah, there's no other way. But we can think of something else. Just avoid seeing that jerk for a while."

Flora immediately suggested, "Let's go on a trip! Louisa, haven't you always wanted to go to Snowlandia? The three of us can go and have a blast for over twenty days. How about it?"

Sadie agreed, "Great idea. You two go ahead, and I'll join you after I sort out my work."

Louisa thought it was a good idea too.

The three of them started planning, booking flights, and making arrangements.

As for the troublesome people and things, they decided to leave them behind for now.

...

Meanwhile, George, still fuming, drove recklessly to the office. Once there, he coldly asked Jared, "What did you find out about Louisa and Julian?"

Jared handed over the information he had gathered and followed George into the office, "Mr. Capulet, I found out that Mrs. Capulet and Julian met three times.

"Once at Dreamscape Club, where Mrs. Capulet had a stomach issue, and Julian took her to the hospital but left before she woke up. The second time was at the golf club. We couldn't find out what they talked about, but it wasn't long, and they didn't avoid others, so it shouldn't have been anything inappropriate. The third time was yesterday at Fortune Tower."

So, Louisa was right. There was nothing improper between her and Julian.
