After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms Chapter 80

Were they about to kiss?

Louisa covered her mouth in shock, almost choking on her sandwich. First day on the job and she'd already stumbled onto office gossip?

Her first instinct was simple: Run! Get out of here now!

But the scene before her was undeniably captivating—two beautiful people, more striking than movie stars.

Before she realized what she was doing, she'd pulled out her phone. Taking just one photo to admire later couldn't hurt, right?

She snapped two quick pictures.

Julian, ever perceptive, sensed something and turned his head. Louisa quickly ducked back, pressing against the latticed window, heart pounding. That was close.

But Julian wasn't so easily fooled. As he was about to investigate, Teresa tightened her grip around his neck, her voice plaintive, "Julian, you can't do this to me. I know you still have feelings for me. You do, don't you?"

"Let go of me!" Julian's expression hardened as he forcefully removed her arms and pushed her away. Right in front of her, he took out his phone and deleted her WhatsApp contact and phone number.

Teresa's pleading expression turned ashen. "Julian, you... you deleted my contact? Are you cutting me off completely?"

Julian's voice grew even colder. "Teresa, I don't know what gave you this delusion. You tricked me into coming here today, and I won't let it happen again. That's why I deleted you."

He continued, "Rest assured, given the relationship between the Tudor and Hughes families, we'll honor our promise to look after you. You'll remain a Tudor family lady—nothing more."

Teresa wasn't listening. "You know I don't care about being a Tudor family lady! All I care about is you, Julian. You used to love me so much—how could you change your heart so easily? I know you gave me up because of Jeffrey, but is it my fault he likes me? You handed me over to him without even asking what I wanted!"

Tears streamed down her cheeks.

Julian sighed at the sight. "Whatever's between you and Jeffrey isn't my concern. But if you keep pursuing this with me, I'm sorry, but I'll have to ask you to leave the Tudor Group—and the Tudor family."

His ruthless words stunned Teresa. She knew he wasn't bluffing; he always meant what he said.

Through tear-blurred vision, she looked at his cold face and finally nodded. "Fine. I'll do as you wish. I'm leaving! I'm leaving!"

With one last angry glance, she turned and walked away. Julian didn't leave immediately. He watched her retreating figure, shaking his head with a sigh.

Meanwhile, Louisa was processing this unexpected bombshell. Though she couldn't hear everything clearly, she'd obviously stumbled onto something deeply personal. Not walking away immediately had been rude of her.

She was about to slip away when a deep, commanding voice came from around the corner, "Come out!"

Louisa's heart jumped. He knew she was there the whole time? With no choice, she slowly emerged.

Meeting his cold eyes, she hurriedly explained, "Mr. Tudor, I wasn't eavesdropping on purpose. I promise I didn't see anything. I absolutely won't—"

"So you saw everything?" he interrupted coolly.

"No, I didn't—"

Julian made a dismissive sound, his presence overwhelming.

Taking a deep breath, she smiled nervously. "Yes, I saw something, but Mr. Tudor, I—"

"What exactly did you see?" he cut her off again.

Louisa was bewildered. Why was he making her spell it out?

"I saw you and Ms. Hughes kissing—quite passionately. Happy now?" she blurted out.

To her surprise, Julian immediately denied it, "You saw wrong."

Louisa fell silent. She'd already promised to forget everything and not gossip, yet he'd forced her to admit what she saw. Now he was denying it?

But he was the boss, after all. She smiled submissively. "Yes, I must have been mistaken."

Julian seemed unsatisfied with her response, staring at her for a good fifteen seconds before saying coldly, "You don't believe me?"

"Of course I do. Why wouldn't I?"

"I don't like kissing, especially not with women." His tone grew icier.

Louisa was stunned by his words. Did she hear that right? He didn't like women? So he preferred men? Yet he was still entangled with Teresa?

Men were such hypocrites, always wanting it all. What a jerk. And she'd thought he was one of the good ones.

Julian frowned at her expression, his eyebrows furrowing. "What are you thinking now? I'm correcting you because you're wrong. There was no kissing. As a Tudor Group employee, you can't have such misconceptions."

Though Louisa was seething at his two-faced behavior, he was still her boss. She nodded reluctantly. "I understand."

"Your phone." He extended his hand.

Confused but compliant, Louisa handed it over. He opened her gallery, found the two photos she'd taken, and moved to delete them.

Without thinking, Louisa protested, "Could you not delete those?"

Julian looked up from the phone, his gaze cold. "Why would you want to keep them?"
