After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms Chapter 42
Louisa's smile grew brighter. "Even if I named a price, would you actually pay it?"
Owen's face darkened instantly.
The Price family wasn't short on money, but this kind of payoff wasn't something they should have to handle. He just wanted to humiliate Louisa, but she wasn't taking the bait.
Louisa pretended to be clueless and continued, "I admit I like money, but even if you dared to offer yours, I wouldn't dare take it. Let's be real—I understand why you're here, and I've made my position clear. Go talk to George."
Owen and Lily's faces turned ashen with rage.
Louisa gestured toward the door. "Please, show yourselves out."
Owen and Lily stormed out, slamming the door behind them.
Louisa locked the door and leaned against it. Instantly, all traces of her smile vanished, replaced by an icy expression.
---
Meanwhile, Owen and Lily left her hospital room, still fuming.
Lily ranted the whole way. "That little tramp is tougher than she looks! No wonder our Vivian can't handle her. Why didn't you put her in her place?"
Owen remained silent, his brows furrowed in thought.
Lily glanced at him. "What are you thinking about?"
Owen thought of something. "Doesn't she seem familiar to you? Like someone we know?"
"Like who?" Lily was confused.
Owen shook his head. "Not just one person... two people."
Lily was completely lost. "What are you talking about?"
Owen explained, "Her face reminds me of someone. But that confidence, that calm under pressure—it reminds me of someone else entirely."
He muttered to himself, making a mental note to investigate this Louisa person properly.

Although Louisa had successfully gotten rid of the Prices, the hospital was a public place with people coming and going.
By morning, news of their confrontation had spread throughout the hospital.
Lily had been busy adding fuel to the fire, telling everyone that Louisa was a homewrecker who seduced her future son-in-law.
People were skeptical at first, unsure what to believe.
But then Lily played the status card, making it clear that with their family background, their daughter had no reason to be anyone's mistress. Louisa, on the other hand, was a nobody with every reason to seduce a rich man.
Overnight, the rumors spread like wildfire.
The next day, Louisa's IV drip finished.
She went to the nurse's station herself to get a new IV bottle.
The nurses were professional enough not to say anything to her face, even if they gossiped behind her back. They just treated her coldly.
Other patients and visitors weren't so polite.
As Louisa walked down the hallway, a woman sitting in a chair threw her half-empty drink bottle at her. "Disgusting! You slut, seducing another woman's husband! Shameless! People like you deserve to be struck by lightning!"
Louisa first looked at the bottle that hit her leg and fell to the floor.
Then she turned to the woman in the chair.
She was in her forties, disheveled, slightly overweight, and glaring at Louisa with pure hatred.
Instead of getting angry, Louisa actually smiled. She bent down, picked up the bottle, and walked toward the woman.
Her unhurried steps and cold smile radiated an intimidating aura.
Under Louisa's intense gaze, the woman began to lose her nerve. She watched Louisa approach with growing alarm. "W-what are you going to do?"
Louisa's lips curled slightly. So brave enough to attack, but too scared to face consequences?
She must be someone whose family was destroyed by a mistress, now hating all alleged homewreckers.
Louisa said nothing, just walked over and slowly extended her hand holding the bottle.
That simple gesture and the look in her eyes terrified the woman.
The woman sat frozen in her chair, not daring to move.
But Louisa simply placed the bottle on the chair next to the woman, said nothing, and walked away.
The woman finally closed her eyes and exhaled deeply.
Holy crap, that was terrifying.

That afternoon, Flora and Sadie arrived at the hospital. Hearing all the whispers along the way, they realized how bad the rumors had gotten.
Worried, they hurried toward Louisa's room.
On the way, they passed Vivian's room.
As the daughter of the Price family, Vivian was getting VIP treatment. Her parents, brother, and George were all by her side, laughing and chatting.
Flora and Sadie were disgusted by the sound and didn't bother looking further. They headed straight to Louisa's room.
Despite the swirling rumors and drama outside, Louisa's room was peaceful, as if none of it had anything to do with her.
She was half-sitting in bed, reading a book.
Seeing her friends, she smiled. "What good food did you bring me today?"
Sadie looked at her with concern. "Did something else happen last night? Why are the rumors suddenly so much worse?"
Louisa didn't hide anything and told them about Vivian's parents visiting her.
Flora was furious. "They came after you? Who do they think they are? Do they think you're an easy target?"
Sadie scolded Flora. "This is partly your fault. You should have just scared that brat instead of slapping her so hard. With no evidence, her family couldn't have done much. But now they're blaming Louisa for everything."
Flora felt regretful too.
Not about slapping Vivian—she didn't regret that at all. She regretted not staying at the hospital last night to protect Louisa.
She stood up angrily. "I'm going to confront them!"
She headed for the door.
Louisa quickly grabbed her. "Stop. This isn't your fault. If Vivian could come provoke me, her parents would have found me eventually. Your slap didn't change much."
But Flora still felt guilty. "Then I'm staying with you tonight."
Louisa laughed. "Fine, as long as you don't snore."
Flora glared at her. "When have I ever snored? Don't ruin my reputation! If I can't get married because of you, I'll stick with you forever."
"I'm not supporting you for free. You'll have to be my little sister."
"Get out of here!"
The three of them laughed and chatted, lightening the mood in the hospital room.
That night, Flora insisted on staying, refusing to leave Louisa alone.
Fortunately, the VIP room had an extra bed for companions.
At night, the two of them lay in their beds, looking at the starry sky through the window.
Flora asked, "George is treating you like this, and the Price family is coming after you. Aren't you going to clear things up with him?"
