After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms Chapter 104
It was Julian.
Today, he wore a set of off-white casual home clothes, appearing softer than his usual formal business attire.
What shocked Louisa even more was that Julian was actually making breakfast. He stood at the counter, head lowered, focused on cutting vegetables.
On the table nearby were all kinds of ingredients—fruits, vegetables, bread, milk, seafood, and meat. Everything was well-stocked yet arranged neatly.
Even more impressive was how his 6'1" frame and elegant posture didn't seem at all out of place among these domestic items. Especially when sunlight streamed in through the window, adding a touch of warmth to the scene.
Louisa suddenly found this moment both beautiful and filled with the comfort of everyday life. She unconsciously became lost in the sight.
If the people from Aurora Media Group could see this, they'd probably have the same expression—was this really the same terrifying Julian from yesterday?
Time passed, and Julian's calm voice suddenly broke the silence, "Are you planning to stare until the end of time?"
"What end of time?" Louisa jumped, startled. Noticing he hadn't even looked at her, she responded without thinking, "Besides, you haven't even looked at me. How do you know I'm staring at you?"
Hearing this, Julian gave her a wry look. "Did you lose your brain while sleeping?" Did she even hear what she was saying?
Louisa was about to retort when Julian's phone rang. He walked around the kitchen table to get his phone. As he passed by her, he patted her head. "Go wash up. Breakfast is ready."
Feeling insulted, Louisa said, "Stop patting my head! I'm not your pet dog."
"You're overthinking it. At least dogs know to run when they smell danger."
"Are you saying I'm worse than a dog?"
Julian had just picked up his phone and was about to answer it when he heard her words. He looked up at her with amusement. "Why compare yourself to dogs? Be good, go wash up."
Louisa fell silent. Since when did Julian have such a sharp tongue? She shot him a glare before reluctantly going to the bathroom.
She planned to go home after washing up. She didn't want to speak with Julian anymore.
Unexpectedly, when she finished, Julian was nowhere to be seen.
He had taken his phone to the bedroom, leaving only a table of delicious food.
Louisa looked curiously. There weren't many dishes, but each one was exquisite, especially the two bowls of shrimp cream mushroom soup, which looked incredibly appetizing.
She'd never imagined that the president of the Tudor Group, the heir of the Tudor family, was such a good cook. The aroma of milk and seafood blended together, tantalizing her senses.
She couldn't move away. She had woken up hungry this morning, and there was nothing to eat at her home. Takeout? That would mean another forty minutes of waiting.
Why not just eat here? In that moment, she completely forgot how he had teased her earlier. All that remained was the temptation of the little feast.
She instinctively sat down at the table. When Julian walked out of the bedroom, he saw her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
She eagerly called out, "Mr. Tudor, shall we eat?"
Her enthusiasm made her seem less like a guest and more like the host. Julian said with amusement, "Go ahead."
Louisa, as if granted special permission, started eating without waiting for him to sit down.
Julian had prepared breakfast for two and was about to join her when his phone rang again.
Having been away from the office for a day, many matters had accumulated. He took several calls in succession, and when he returned to the dining room, twenty minutes had passed.
Seeing his empty soup bowl, he gave her a sardonic look. "Ms. Forbes, where's my soup?"
Louisa realized that while waiting for him, she had unconsciously consumed all the soup. She smiled awkwardly. "Well, I finished it."
She couldn't help it—his cooking was simply too delicious. From the first bite, she couldn't stop.
Julian snorted dismissively, said nothing more, and poured himself a glass of warm water before sitting down at the table.
Louisa felt even more embarrassed and asked, "Is that going to be enough for you?" After all, he was a major CEO. Drinking just water seemed too austere.
As she was wondering if she should order takeout for him, Julian spoke, "It's fine. I don't have your appetite."
Just as Louisa thought she was being too concerned, she realized something. "Are you teasing me again?"
Julian chuckled lightly, "Teasing you what?"
Louisa was a bit irritated. "You said you don't have my appetite—you're implying I eat too much, aren't you?"
"That's your interpretation, not my responsibility."
"Julian!" Louisa gritted her teeth, feeling defeated.
Fine. So what if she had a big appetite? Without eating enough, how would she have energy to work for him? Did he think working at the Tudor Group was easy?
She took a piece of toast and bit into it forcefully.
Soon after, Teddy arrived. Holding several documents, he said, "Mr. Tudor, these are today's important documents waiting for your signature."
Julian took them and went to sit on the living room sofa to review them.
The atmosphere in the room suddenly became quiet.
Teddy stood by, occasionally glancing at Louisa. Outside, everything was in chaos, yet Julian could remain so calm at home, cooking for someone? And Louisa was eating without a care in the world.
In truth, Louisa also felt it was inappropriate to stay longer. After all, Teddy needed to continue his report, and as a mere project manager, it wasn't suitable for her to stay.
She stood up, intending to clear the dishes before leaving.
"Leave them," Julian said calmly.
"What?" She looked at him instinctively.
"Someone else will take care of it. Come here and tell me exactly how you discovered the problems with Aurora Media Group's accounts."
