After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms Chapter 22

Louisa stopped dead in her tracks, her face as cold as ice.

Jared heard the commotion from the office too and closed his eyes in despair. It was over.

Louisa didn't react much, just shot him a chilling look. "Move!"

Her voice was icy and commanding, leaving no room for refusal.

Jared didn't dare to block her anymore and stepped aside quietly.

Louisa strode forward and shoved the office door open.

There was a loud bang followed by Vivian's scream.

Vivian was sitting on George's lap in a sheer lace dress, with nothing underneath.

George's hand had been inside her dress, fondling her breasts. When he met Louisa's gaze, he quickly pulled his hand back.

Louisa, in contrast to their panic, was eerily calm.

She stood at the office door, watching them with cold eyes. Her voice was steady and frosty. "Sorry to interrupt."

Vivian was the first to react, screaming like a banshee. "Louisa, you're just a lowly secretary! How dare you barge into the CEO's office? You're fired! Get out! Get out!"

Louisa ignored her and looked directly at George. "I came to inform you that the marketing department is stable now. Starting tomorrow, I won't be coming in.

"Naomi Kelly and Liam Barnes, whom I trained, are capable and reliable. You can hand over the marketing department to them, and it won't fall apart.

"Or you can make other arrangements, just don't send an idiot to manage them, or they'll slack off."

Her tone was formal, devoid of the hysteria one might expect from a wife catching her husband cheating.

George felt a hint of guilt and muttered, "Got it."

Louisa nodded, glanced at Vivian, and gave George a cold look. "You can continue your... meeting."

Without waiting for a response, she turned to leave.

She couldn't stand to look at them any longer.

But before she could step out, Vivian's shrill voice rang out again.

Louisa had called her an idiot, and she couldn't stand it. She screamed, "Louisa, who do you think you are, calling me names? You don't get to decide if we continue or not! George said he's not interested in you anymore. He loves me! We're together every night…"

"Enough!" George cut her off, his voice loud and stern.

Vivian instinctively shut her mouth.

Louisa turned back to them, a mocking smile on her face. "Why stop her? Let her talk. I'd love to hear how low the Price family's daughter can stoop!"

"Stoop?! How dare you!" Vivian lost it and lunged at her.

Louisa didn't hold back, slapping her hard across the face.

The two men in the room were stunned.

Vivian, enraged, tried to retaliate.

Louisa grabbed her dress and yanked it off, then raised her hand for another slap.

But before she could, George stepped in front of Vivian and slapped Louisa instead.

The force of the slap made Louisa stagger back, her lower back hitting the corner of the desk painfully.

She looked up at George, who was now kneeling in front of Vivian, wrapping his jacket around her naked body.

Vivian was crying and screaming, causing a scene.

George turned to Louisa, ignoring her pale face, and shouted, "Louisa, have you had enough? Get out!"

Louisa gritted her teeth and stared him down, saying nothing.

After a brief silence, she nodded and turned to leave.

George watched her go, feeling a sudden tightness in his chest, as if she would never come back once she walked out that door.

He panicked.

Jared, who had tried to stop Louisa but failed, quickly approached George. "Mr. Capulet, she hurt her back. It looks serious."

George snapped out of it and looked at his hand. He had actually hit her?

In ten years together, he had never laid a hand on her.

Now, he had not only hit her but injured her.

Ignoring Vivian's hysterics, he rushed out after Louisa.

Louisa left the office and headed to the underground parking lot.

She got into her car and realized her lower back hurt badly.

Leaning against the seat, she closed her eyes.

Seventeen days left.

She steadied herself.

Once the pain subsided a bit, she started the car and drove out of the Capulet Group's parking lot.

It had started to drizzle.

George called her, but she turned off her phone.

Finally, some peace.

The sky was gray and gloomy, and the rain grew heavier.

She slowed down.

Lost in thought, she didn't notice the red light ahead.

Luckily, she wasn't driving fast. She tried to brake, but the pain in her back flared up.

Unable to press the brake, she crashed into the black Maybach in front of her.

Her body slammed into the steering wheel, making her back hurt even more.

Her face turned pale, and she was momentarily dazed.

Soon, someone knocked on her window.

She slowly came to and opened the door, forcing herself to get out despite the pain.

The person saw her face and was surprised. "Ms. Forbes?"

Louisa looked at him, equally surprised. "Mr. Young?"

It was Teddy, Julian's special assistant.

Louisa glanced at the Maybach and then at Teddy. "Sorry for hitting your car. Do you want to settle this privately or go through insurance?"
