After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms Chapter 79

Sadie laughed coldly. "I had the divorce agreement ready since Louisa reached a deal with your mother, but she kept holding off. She wanted to give you a chance.

"But what did you do? You told her you'd booked tickets to Frostholm to see the northern lights. She was genuinely excited, you know? Instead, you used a business trip excuse to take your mistress there. You two kissed under the aurora and made childish heart signs.

"While Louisa sat alone eating her birthday cake, she received taunting photos from your mistress. In that moment, she finally accepted that you had completely erased her from your heart. If you had remembered it was her birthday, you never could have done something so cruel.

"Louisa chose to end everything that day. She divorced you that way not because she's a pushover, but because she's above fighting with your mistress. She just wanted you gone from her life.

"When she made that decision, she was resolute. She sold everything from your past together. She burned all your wedding photos.

"She did it all right in front of you—sold everything, burned everything, even made you sign divorce papers on her birthday. She called it her gift to herself—a promise never to look back."

After finishing, Sadie closed her eyes painfully and wiped the moisture from their corners. "I'm not telling you this to condemn you, but to make you understand that she won't come back—ever.

"If you have any remorse, complete the divorce process cleanly and pay her the compensation. Let's end this with dignity, as a final respect to your ten years together."

George didn't answer immediately. Sadie's words had pierced his heart, causing him physical pain that threatened to crush him completely.

Finally, he took the divorce agreement and tore it to shreds. He glared at Sadie, "This is impossible! I love her, I've always loved her!"

Sadie stared at the paper fragments floating through the air, speechless. Had she wasted her breath this entire time?

George stood up from the sofa, his tone resolute. "Those things she sold and burned—I will find them back, all of them! And her heart too! I can fix this, and she will stay by my side forever!"

"Damn it!" Sadie fumed. "George, tearing up the papers solves nothing. I anticipated this move, so you just destroyed a copy. We have the original. This divorce is happening whether you like it or not!"

What a jerk. Now he was desperate? Where was this devotion before?

George had calmed down, giving her a cold, arrogant look. "Tell Louisa, wherever she is, I will find her; don't ever think about divorce!"

Sadie was too angry to respond.

Just then, Jared entered. Seeing the room full of paper fragments, he paused briefly before addressing George, "Mr. Capulet, Mr. Price is waiting to see you."

Caden? George wasn't in the mood to see him. Right now, he only wanted to find Louisa, but he still didn't know where she was.

He glanced at Sadie and gestured toward the door. "Ms. Watson, after you."

Sadie wanted to bash his head in. From his current attitude, this divorce wouldn't be easy at all. She stormed out.

"Did you find out where Louisa's staying?" George finally asked Jared.

Jared nodded quickly. "Yes, Mrs. Capulet recently purchased a small apartment in Cozy Community."

George felt a wave of relief. She was still in Silverlight City—he still had a chance to win her back.

But then Jared added, "I discovered something strange during my investigation: Julian also lives in Cozy Community. Why would someone like him choose such a modest neighborhood when he owns so many mansions and estates?"

"Why else? He's obviously there because of Louisa!" George's voice turned icy.

"That seems unlikely, sir," Jared tried to reassure him. "Given Julian's status, why would he pursue a previously married woman? Besides, they purchased their properties at different times. Ms. Watson also lives there—Mrs. Capulet probably bought a place to be near her best friend. Don't read too much into it."

George was so angry his chest ached. He didn't want to speak. He had a feeling Julian was definitely there because of Louisa. They might have already been seeing each other behind his back.

After a moment of silence, he told Jared, "Check if there are any units for sale in that community—preferably in Louisa's building. Whatever the price, buy it."

He didn't care what relationship Louisa and Julian had. Louisa was his wife, and he was determined to get her back.

When Caden walked in, he caught the tail end of George's instructions about buying property. "At a time like this, you're thinking about real estate?" he frowned.

George didn't bother explaining. "What brings you here?"

"Thought we could grab lunch together." Caden's words were casual, but his agitated tone suggested otherwise.

Understandably so—Vivian was still in prison. The Price family had already greased all the right palms, and she should have been released within days.

Then Julian got involved, and now her release was blocked again. At his wit's end, Caden had come to consult with George about finding another solution.

Meanwhile, at the Tudor Group.

It was lunchtime. Louisa knew the company had its own cafeteria, but she wasn't sure which floor it was on. She wanted to ask her colleagues, but they were all shrewd people who'd received Teresa's hint to isolate her.

Not wanting to force herself into their circle, Louisa left the building and bought a sandwich and water from a nearby convenience store.

The area around the Tudor Group was picturesque, with streams and lakes surrounded by elegant pavilions. Being lunchtime, the lakeside was relatively quiet.

She made her way to the second floor of one of the pavilions. Leaning against the railing, she admired the beautiful scenery. The gentle breeze improved her mood considerably.

Just as she was unwrapping her sandwich, she heard voices nearby. The sound was faint, and she couldn't make out the words.

But there shouldn't be anyone else here.

Curiosity drew her toward a corner pavilion. She peeked around the edge and froze in shock.

Right in front of her were her two bosses—Julian and Teresa.

From Louisa's angle, she could only see Julian's back. Teresa was facing him, standing on her tiptoes with her arms draped over his shoulders, fingers linked behind his neck.
