After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms Chapter 23
At this moment, inside the Maybach ahead.
Julian was sitting in the back seat, his long legs crossed, with an open laptop on the table in front of him. The screen's light illuminated his strikingly handsome face.
He was supposed to be working.
After the car stopped for a moment, he glanced at his watch and said to the driver in the front seat, "Bob, go check what's going on. If it's a hassle, have Teddy stay and handle it. We'll leave first."
"Yes, Mr. Tudor."
Bob immediately got out of the car.
But before he could walk over, he saw Louisa in the rain.
He was a bit surprised and said to Julian, "Mr. Tudor, it's Ms. Forbes. She hit our car."
Julian frowned slightly upon hearing this. He opened the car door and got out.
Bob quickly held the umbrella over his head.
Julian took the umbrella and walked towards Louisa.
She didn't have the habit of carrying an umbrella, and there wasn't one in her car either. In just a short while, her shirt and hair were already soaked.
Suddenly, a large shadow covered her head, shielding her from the wind and rain, accompanied by a fresh, pleasant scent.
She instinctively turned her head and saw a hand holding the umbrella handle, with distinct, sculpted fingers.
She looked up and met Julian's eyes.
Teddy came over and said, "Mr. Tudor, Ms. Forbes accidentally rear-ended us. The damage isn't serious. I told her it's fine, but she insists on compensating, whether privately or through insurance. What do you think?"
Before Julian could speak, Louisa nodded. "It's my fault. I'll pay for it."
Seeing her serious attitude, Julian didn't respond to her. He simply said, "Give me your car keys."
Louisa didn't know what he was going to do but handed them over anyway.
He gave the keys to Teddy, "You handle it."
Then, he looked down at Louisa, "Get in the car. I'll take you home."
Louisa immediately shook her head, "No, I..."
"Get in the car."
His voice was calm and low, but carried an undeniable authority.
Louisa didn't say anything else and followed him into his car.
He handed her a clean towel.
Louisa took it and apologized, "Sorry for getting your car wet."
Julian ignored her apology and asked, "Where to?"
"Cozy Community."
It was the neighborhood where she had recently bought a house.
Although she hadn't prepared any living supplies yet, Sadie lived in the same building, and she planned to stay at Sadie's place for now.
Julian nodded and told Bob, "Drive."
After that, no one spoke in the car, and the atmosphere was a bit tense.
Louisa slowly wiped the rain off her face and body with the towel.
When she was wiping her neck, Julian glanced at her and noticed some marks on her face.
Without thinking, he reached out and brushed aside a few strands of hair from her cheek.
The slap mark was faint but still visible if you looked closely.
Julian's usually calm eyes suddenly turned cold. "Did George do this?"
Louisa instinctively nodded.
Then she realized and looked at him curiously, "How do you know?"
Her secret marriage to George was known only to a few close friends. How did Julian know?
Julian didn't answer her question. His sharp gaze scanned her body and noticed her slow movements and stiffness.
He frowned, "Is your back hurt too?"
Louisa nodded again.
Julian told Bob, his voice was as cold as usual, "Head to the hospital first."
But when Bob met his gaze in the rearview mirror, he sensed a chill in those beautiful eyes.
Afterward, Julian took her to the hospital, had her injuries checked and treated, and then drove her to Cozy Community.
As she was about to get out of the car, she remembered, "Oh, I left my phone in the car. Tomorrow, I'll transfer the medical and repair costs to you."
Julian acknowledged with a nod.
She met his eyes and said, "Thank you."
Then she opened the door to get out.
His voice suddenly came from behind, "Do you have time tomorrow?"
She turned to look at him, "Yes."
Julian said, "I'll pick you up tomorrow afternoon. I need you to come with me somewhere."
Louisa didn't have any reservations about him and agreed without much thought.
Then she got out of the car and left.
Meanwhile, George couldn't find her and had already called Sadie and Flora.
Sadie and Flora were worried because they couldn't find her.
Sadie was on the phone while changing her shoes, "I can't wait anymore. I need to go out and look for her."
Flora said, "Don't go. She rarely turns off her phone. Something must have happened. You stay home and wait for her. I'll go look for her. We'll keep in touch."
"Okay."
Sadie was about to hang up the phone when there was a knock on the door.
Sadie opened the door and saw Louisa standing outside.
Sadie quickly told Flora and hung up the phone, pulling Louisa inside, "What's going on with you? Even if you had a fight with that jerk, you shouldn't turn off your phone. Don't you know Flora and I would be worried?"
The concern and affection in her tone warmed Louisa's heart, and she smiled to reassure her, "I'm fine. I left my phone in the car and forgot to take it."
"Alright, you don't have to put on a brave face with me." Sadie then asked, "Why don't you take a shower first? I'll order some food, and we can talk while we eat."
Louisa nodded and went to the bathroom.
By the time she finished her shower, the food Sadie ordered had arrived, and Flora was there too.
As they ate, Louisa recounted what had happened at the office in a calm tone.
But Sadie and Flora were furious.
Flora slammed her utensils on the table, "That bastard! Scumbag! You haven't even left the company yet, and he's already bringing his mistress in, flaunting it in front of you, and even hitting you?"
Sadie, though more composed, was equally angry. She looked at Louisa, "These two jerks are openly challenging you, completely disregarding you. Are you sure you just want a divorce and not to fight back?"
