After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms Chapter 53

Louisa's eyes turned ice-cold.

Hazel hadn't expected her to suddenly bring up the video and was caught off guard.

But Louisa hadn't come to settle that score today. She said curtly, "Enough talk. If we're signing a contract, let's get on with it."

Hazel was so angry that the flesh on her face trembled. Finally, she pulled out the supplementary agreement and tossed it in front of Louisa.

Louisa picked it up—a thick stack of papers. Something that could be explained in a few sentences had been stretched into dozens of pages, all filler.

Were they hoping she wouldn't read it carefully? Louisa didn't need to guess—there must be hidden trap clauses inside.

After flipping through it casually, she told Hazel, "I need my lawyer to review this agreement. I'll get back to you tomorrow."

"Absolutely not!" Hazel refused immediately. "I'm busy tomorrow. If you have questions, tell me now and I'll make changes."

"Really? Then how about you draft a new one just as I say?"

"What are you thinking? We must use my version!" Hazel's face showed nothing but aggression.

Louisa laughed softly, leaning back in her chair casually. "Didn't you just say I could suggest changes? Now you're saying we must follow your version? What exactly do you mean?"

"I mean you must sign today, no negotiation! Otherwise, forget about that $1 billion! Your agreement is nothing but extortion—I could legally refuse to pay anything!"

Louisa nodded. "OK!" She waved the contract in her hand. "Since you won't wait one day, surely ten minutes isn't a problem? I need my lawyer to check this. If she says it's fine, I'll sign immediately. How's that?"

Hazel waved her hand impatiently. "Hurry up then."

Louisa stood and walked out with the contract. Saying she needed to call Sadie was just to mislead Hazel.

While flipping through the contract earlier, she'd spotted a clause stating: [If engaged in improper relations with another man before divorce, this contract becomes void.]

This was clearly a trap. Even if she had no improper relations with anyone, they could fabricate evidence. She couldn't stay here—she needed to leave immediately.

Meanwhile, in the private room, Hazel immediately dialed a number after Louisa left. "She took the agreement and left. Vivian, can you really help me avoid paying this compensation?"

Vivian replied confidently, "Don't worry, Mrs. Capulet. I've arranged everything. I guarantee you won't spend a penny to get rid of Louisa, and she'll never dare try to extort you again."

"You're so clever. I'm counting on you."

"No problem."

The call ended. Hazel sighed with relief.

The thought of resolving the Louisa situation without spending money, while announcing the Capulet-Price marriage alliance tomorrow, made her happy. She picked up her cup and elegantly sipped her coffee.

Little did she know that after hanging up, Vivian was clutching her phone tightly, her eyes filled with malice. 'Louisa, just die! After today, you'll never compete with me for George again!'

Meanwhile, Louisa hurried through the winding corridors, gripping a knife tightly while constantly looking over her shoulder.

She hadn't seen a single guest or staff member—the silence was unnerving. She shouldn't have come today. But regret came too late.

She could only try to leave as quickly as possible. She thought that after turning the corner ahead and taking the elevator down, she'd reach the lobby.

There would surely be people there. In public view, no one would dare harm her. She felt slightly relieved.

Just as she rounded the corner, a female server in uniform approached from the opposite direction. The server carried a tray and bumped right into Louisa.

Louisa stumbled, quickly steadying herself against the wall. Seeing the server about to fall, Louisa reached out to catch her, asking, "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine, thank you." The female server smiled gratefully.

Louisa nodded and prepared to leave. Unexpectedly, as they passed each other, Louisa felt a sharp pain in her neck.

A needle had pierced her skin, and cold liquid instantly entered her bloodstream. Louisa felt dizzy, barely able to stand.

She struggled to steady herself, but everything before her became blurry, increasingly so.

Seeing this, the server immediately grabbed her arm, a cold smile spreading across her lips despite her sweet voice.

"Miss, are you feeling unwell? Tell me your room number, and I'll help you there." She forcefully pulled Louisa deeper into the corridor.

Louisa couldn't summon any strength to resist. She tried to call for help, but no sound came out.

Overwhelmed by panic, she used all her remaining strength to knock the tray from the server's hand, hoping to create noise and attract attention.

The server was startled by her action, her expression instantly turning vicious. "Hoping someone will rescue you? Forget it. This entire floor has been booked. Besides me, you won't find another soul here."

Those words froze the blood in Louisa's veins. Was she doomed to die today?

At that moment, in the Tudor Group building, Julian was conducting a meeting with executives.

Teddy hurriedly entered, leaned close to Julian, and whispered something. Julian's expression instantly hardened, a dangerous glint appearing in his eyes.

All the executives were frightened—none had ever seen this side of Julian, as if something terrible had happened. Everyone held their breath, not daring to make a sound.

The next second, Julian stood up. "Meeting adjourned!" With that, he left the meeting room.

Without returning to his office, he headed toward the elevator while calling Louisa's phone, instructing Teddy, "Tell Bob to prepare the car."

Teddy rushed to comply. Julian tried calling Louisa, but there was no answer.

His expression grew even colder as he told Teddy, "Contact the manager of Dawnlight Club. Check the security footage to find which room Louisa went to. Stop all suspicious persons."

The Dawnlight Club was a property under the Tudor Group.

Teddy immediately made the call. However, there was no answer for a long time.
